Down below the cars in the city go rushing by; I sit here alone and I wonder why
WHO: Aurican and Maurita Falls 004 housemates, plus any frequent guests that come into the house; if anyone else wants a starter that is in a different location, PM in this journal or PP at devimelete @ plurk!
WHERE: Maurita Falls imPort Apartment 004
WHEN: On the day of Aurican's arrival
WHAT: Aurican's first day as not only as a human, but be in a world in sunlight and people and everything else.
WARNINGS: nothing? but who knows what will happen.
In one flash of a moment, Aurican is in a body where his senses are cut in half in terms of strength, his body small and weak, and unable to walk on its two rickety legs. The strange two legged creates put strange skins on him on emergence out of the Darkness Beyond. It was terrifying, and they had to pin him down as he tries to breathe fire. Failing to produce fire, he resorted to biting, which is not as affective as it would have been in his regular body.
Everything else after that is a blur. They took him somewhere, explaining everything to him, but he understood one word out of twenty. Not that he doesn't understand their language - but they keep saying words like "housing" and "job application" that Aurican doesn't understand. They might as well be making up words as far as he can tell. They took him where he is going to stay - it's not a cave, and no where near as roomy, but they just unlock the door and let him inside and went on their way.
Of course, so many things could go wrong, but the soldiers must have figured other imPorts will help him.
In the meantime: Aurican is starving. He doesn't even know how long it is when he last had his last meal (three bats, two covered a yellow, dusty substance that is sweet to eat), but his stomach is giving him such pain he can barely walk. Not that it matters, as he can't even walk on his two spiny legs. Where are his scales, his powerful jaws, his legs and wings? He has a weak, tiny body, and the only good thing it can do is that it can grip things with a far better dexterity than his claws can.
So after being taken into his assigned housing - what is a house? - he sort of flop-crawls his way around, a far faster method of moving from place to place. (Even if it is a little painful when he hit a strange brown, square object. The corners are blunt but they still hurt as he bumped into them.)
He arrives in a room that seems paler in color. He seen enough of doors to know that he has to twist his primitive hand and pull to get to another room. He touches the closest door, but it emits a strange chill. He pulls at it, and inside there is a gentle light pulsing inside, revealing strange things inside. The bright, cool light hits Aurican in the face as he squints at the various alcoves where odd things are placed. After struggling with one - which he learns later on is called a "shelf" -he pulls something out and sees something that looks a little like the flesh of a bat, but much larger, and pale yellow white in color. It lacks the fur, and it appears the head is long gone, but there limbs still there. It's cold to touch, and a little slimy, like a moist rock.
A cold corpse is as good meal as any, and Aurican begins to eat, ripping out the foul-tasting clear membrane in his haste with his weak claws and teeth. The corpse taste terrible when he finally bit down, all cold and sour, but it is food. Until he can find a way to get his real body back, this is how it is.
And that is how his housemates finds a little, blond-haired boy eating a cold chicken raw in the middle of the kitchen floor.
