[ It was probably lucky for this guy that Tony liked Karen Starr quite a bit. Smart, quick, seemed to have something else going on under the surface, and all around someoine he would be interested in. Actually, he was, but that wasn't why he was here. It was honestly the fact that she'd asked, and she'd made an effort to reach out to him on behalf of this person, who seemed to know who he was. Another person, on top of the other ones.

It wasn't that he wasn't used to that sort of thing, he was, but it was always in a unique context. Normally, when people knew him, they knew him through their own interactions, and they'd been people Tony at least could associate as alternate versions of themselves. These two were different, they weren't versions of anyone he knew, or anyone he'd interacted with. Which left him in an odd position, but it also left him in the place where he could figure them out, and figure out where they were coming from.

When it hit evening, he made his way over, flying instead of driving, landing with a hard 'clunk' of metal boots on pavement before he walked up, the helmet detatching and floating in pieces around his head before refoming for him to pick it up, and hold it under the crook of his arm. He knocked on the door, one, two, three, before he waited. ]

[the hand of his shoulder startles him slightly and he turns to regard Karen.]

I'll be fine.

[He's wary but Tony Stark is has a reputation in his world and he can try to trust the one here. He looks back at Tony]

Whatever you need to do.

[The killswitch in his right eye and the robotic eye in his left are the primary wireless connection. Anyone who accesses it can see but not hear what Mike is looking at in real time. It can also allow transfers of text information that'll appear before Mike's eyes. The rest of him is mostly hardware.]

Remind me if this Garrett ever shows his face around here to punch it in.

[ Atlee had nearly lost her body to Ultra-Humanite and Satanna. It's one of the most sickening things Karen can think of, violating someone's body like this.

She folds her arm just under her chest, shifting her weight to one foot. ]

Wherever you need to go, go. Mike, you can still come back here to rest, too.

That depends on your comfort level, honestly.

I've worked in worse conditions, but since this is your body involved, I'd feel a heck of a lot more comfortable if we worked this with the best I can get us. At least when there may be trouble with the eye.

[ But, even so, he's already starting to bypass, working the wireless connection remotely, his brain running through the routine and subroutines before the visual cortex came into focus, a small sight within his sight, like looking at two -- well, with Tony it was closer to twenty -- things at once. Looking at himself was eerie, however. ]

What do you say, why don't we get out of here and let Karen rest, and we'll get you patched up in no time.

[brokenteam]

[Mike is looking over from Tony to Karen.]

[he's grateful for the kindness she's shown him so far and for arranging this meeting]

I'll follow Mr. Stark to his lab. [a pause. It's still odd to learn that he has a place to come back to in this new city] And return after.

[he turns back to Tony to see if he's agreeable. It seems they're done here at least]

You're welcome.

[ She glances over at Tony. They may have their differences, but she's relieved he took the call. This is the Tony Stark she can appreciate, not the one who's engrossed with the politics of registration. ]

We're counting on you.

[ He nodded, and gave Power Girl a smile. ]

Good thing I work well under pressure, huh?

[ He didn't even pick up the gauntlets or the helmet, they just snapped into place. ]

She told me your name was Mike? Why don't we get properly introduced, before we head to the lab. [ He held out his own metal-clad hand. ] I'm Tony Stark. Can you fly, by the way?

[brokenteam]

[Mike looks at the hand for a second before he reaches out to take it in a firm shake]

Mike Peterson. I don't fly.

Alright then.

[ He shook his hand, before holding out his arms. ]

I hope you don't mind being carried, then. I don't like walking.

[ Honestly, he'd really considered driving, but in the long run, he always went with his suit. It was faster, and these days, he really didn't like to waste time. ]

[brokenteam]

[Mike is very uncertain about that]

I prefer walking.

[it's said simply. He's not comfortable with being carried]

Of course you do.

[ He paused. Of course he did. He sighed.

He could just pick him up, but that wasn't going to do any of them any good. ]

Alright, let's go, then. If we're going to walk it, it's going to take forever.

[ This? This was why he flew. ]

[brokenteam]

[Mike would be scoffing if he still does that but he only heads for the door.]

I can run.

[He wants to get this over with as well and running would probably show Tony more of what he can do]

Run it is then. We'll head over now, huh? Get this done as quickly as possible.

[ He opened the door, slipping out first, before he waited for Mike, his steps slow, but he was already walking in the direction of his labs. ]

[Mike follows at whatever speed Tony is setting, silent and serious. He doesn't know what to expect. From what he's heard of his world's Tony Stark, he's an arrogant billionaire with a good heart. He doesn't know if this applies to this one]

[ His pace is surprisingly quick, with all that metal. He doesn't know Mike well, and the name doesn't ping anything in his SHRA database lying in his head.

So there has to be some correlation, doesn't there? There often seemed to be one, anyway. ]

You have a code name, Mike?

[brokenteam]

[Mike is keeping up relatively easily. He's just glad he doesn't have to be carried int heir air like some kind of weird cargo. The question is one he doesn't expect and isn't really happy to divulge. (Nevermind that looking into his hardware will reveal the name)]

[ He turned his head, slightly, but nodded. ]

Got it. Iron Man, obviously, if you didn't know who I was.

[ DEATHLOK. MICHAEL COLLINS.
HEIGHT: 7'2.

The data started to scroll across his vision, and he shifted, his head turning slightly. Interesting. There were...similarities, but they weren't absolute. Their names, for example, were different. ]

Everyone knows who you are.

[Mike answers simply, unaware of the data Tony is going through]

Have you dealt with anything like me before?

[ Of course they do. ]

I hate to break it to you Mike, but you're not even on the scale of odd things I've had to deal with in my life. Cyborgs?

That's nothing.

[ Hell, even if Mike didn't know it, and Tony wasn't about to share it, he was one too, by a slim technicality. ]

[brokenteam]

Good.

[that means Tony has a chance at helping him. Maybe without him losing his eyes.]

[ Please. He had more than a chance. ]

What, you weren't worried, were you? Have a little faith in a genius for once. I won't steer you wrong, promise.

[ He kept walking at a fine pace, but it was slow. ]

How fast can you run?

[Mike decides to ignore the part about faith for now. His trust in people comes at a premium nowadays]

Fast.

Probably not as fast as I can fly, but let's take a look, huh? I don't know about you, but I'm going to age a day, before we get there.

[ In one smooth motion, he was off the ground, and flying faster than a normal car could run, in the direction of his lab, and he didn't look back to see if he could catch up, but instead monitored it in other ways. Not ones that Mike would notice, of course. ]

[Of course Tony is fast. Mike can outrun a car but that's about it for speed. He keeps his eyes on the disappearing dot in the sky and runs after him. He can't quite avoid bowling over a few pedestrians but for the most part, he's keeping up somehow]

[ He made sure to slow himself down, even if he took off up to make sure he was well above anything else that was going to get in the way. ]

Keeping up alright?

[ He asked, but it was obvious to everyone that this was a more leisurely pace than he was used to. Then again, he didn't fly at breakneck speed this low to the ground. It generally caused damage. ]

I'm fine.

[Mike answered curtly. He didn't want to waste his breath talking when he's running after Iron Man. He was keeping up at a steady and constant speed though]
