A; ARCADE
[ After talking to Charlie over the network and sort of challenging her for a dance off at DDR (… or was she the one challenging him? He doesn’t remember and these aren’t details he cares to remember to that extent, honestly), Sasaki decides it’d be fun to hang around the arcade for a bit and try out the games.

Perhaps he can find someone to challenge – and that might be YOU – or perhaps you can find him sipping at his coffee while he plays something similar to tetris. He is certainly making use of his faster reflexes too; you call it cheating, he calls it “only fair” because he is a newbie. Sure. ]


B; BEACH and DOGS
[ After he spoke to Toby whom suggested him to paint, Sasaki had been itching to try that out. Kaneki didn’t paint, but he sketched (mostly flowers), and so Sasaki thought he could sketch a bit too. Once he is done with his work, he heads to the beach to enjoy the warm weather and sits down near the waves. He won’t be drawing the scenario, no.

Instead, he will sketch the memories that come up, sometimes. He is certainly not a pro at drawing people, but he will focus on objects that might come to mind.

And he’d have continued if suddenly there wasn’t a wet dog rushing towards Sasaki and jumping on him, reading to cover him with dog drool. Maybe it’s a stray, maybe the dog belongs to YOU, in any case it seems that now sasaki’s sketch is covered in sand, sea water and dog fur (and so is Sasaki!). A perfect combination. ]


C; CAFÉ (Lucky Cat) and LATTE ART
[ As he told Cass, Sasaki drops by the Lucky Cat Café from time to time. It’s not his job and he is there mostly as a volunteer, but it’s something that relaxes him and he enjoys, and as such you can find him at the counter, preparing latté art. He is quite at ease with it too, smiling and humming happily as he draws a rabbit for a girl who seems quite happy to watch him doing it.

Once Sasaki is done, he will turn to the next costumer – maybe YOU? If you want anything cute, Sasaki can certainly prepare it. And if foam art is also your thing, he will be ready to make it too.

He will also be around to help with anything else, though. As he has super strength, he can carry heavy boxes, and he is a pretty amazing cook, in case you are curious about his skills. Whatever it is, Sasaki is ready to help. ]


D; DURING THE NIGHT and INVESTIGATIONS
[ Sasaki is a police officer. However, he can also be called a trophy. Ever since he joined the Heropa Police Force last month, he hasn’t really been taken seriously, since he is an Import without any credentials besides his word and who never went to the police academy. But it’s good to have imPorts part of the police force, it gives a certain power and it’s great to show him off – and this means that Sasaki is given small tasks, like talking to the neighbors and giving away pamphlets. And specially after he broke his bicycle, the xerife decided he totally shouldn’t be chasing criminals.

But that’s rather frustrating, in a way. And sure, he has his work at Dendarrii Corps, but he also wants to show the police department he is capable. Which he is, a lot, actually! And that’s how he managed to find the trail that lead to a gang that had been robbing jewel stores; it’s not a difficult task to someone who has to chase ghouls, and these guys weren’t particularly good at hiding traces.

YOU may find him lurking around the streets, looking a bit suspicious. He peeks over the corner of a street and then goes back to hiding again with a sigh. ] … I don’t even have handcuffs. [ how is he going to bring them to the police station anyway?! ]

[ Sasaki promised Lapis he would make her some gyoza. Sure, the conversation didn't go as great because Lapis is a gem and doesn't really know much about earth culture and earth people, but that didn't bum him out - even if she made it sound that the gyozas weren't anything special. That's just cruel.

He still made them and when he was ready to share (to give them. Sasaki doesn't eat normal food), he sends Lapis a message to tell her she can come over, as well his address at Heropa #4.

And while she waits for her arrival, he will also prepare coffee, but that's mostly for himself. ]

[it takes maybe twenty minutes for Lapis to arrive after receiving the text; she flies pretty quickly, but it's still a decent clip when you're leaving from Nonah.

she touches down gently on the doorstep of Heropa 4 (familiar, thanks to Josuke) and retracts her wings before...simply stepping through the door. considering that she usually comes into this house through a bedroom window, this is actually pretty polite for Lapis.

hopefully Sasaki isn't doing anything embarrassing, because she's just going to quietly pad up behind him once she figures out which room he's in.]

Though that gave Sasaki a mild heart attack, at least he had nothing on his hands when he suddenly hears lapis voice. He turns around a bit startled, and actually considers telling her right away "you should knock before going into anyone's house" BUT YOU KNOW WHAT. letitgo.mp3 ]

[ Sasaki looks at the table for a second ] - sit down. Do you want anything to drink?I've apple juice.

[ Once Sasaki had given Yuri this ultimatum, and the man went through with it as planned, Sasaki decided he should reach the authorities - his own bosses, nonetheless! - to take responsibility for what happened in April. I was decided that he'd be on probation, but as now the whole story had finally come out and Sasaki had already personality apologized to the victims, Heropa Police Department decided not to strip him out of his badge (even if no one took Sasaki's badge seriously in first place). It was a kindness, they said, and Sasaki accepted it with open heart and a warm smile, also many "thank yous".

However, he still had to have a probation officer to check on him as well as a partial power damper. The latter wasn't that much of an issue to him, and the first stopped being an issue altogether when he was told his probation officer would be Count Dooku. A very familiar face, with whom he'd gladly meet.

Which is what he will be doing now. At the assigned time, Sasaki will be waiting in front of the Heropa Police Station for the man. there is much they need to talk about, not just about the usual probation questions but also about everything else that has been happening of late ]

[Well, now. Wasn't this interesting? Dooku was becoming very pleased with himself for choosing to volunteer as a probation officer. He had intended for the position to put him in touch with vicious imPort super-criminals, but instead it kept connecting him with an even more useful kind of person: sympathetic outcast imPorts who had been wronged by the authorities. All the better that he now had an additional connection to Ken Kaneki or Haise Sasaki or whatever the boy was calling himself these days.

It was ironic, in a sense. When news broke of Kaneki's bloody rampage and subsequent Porting-out, Dooku had resigned himself to writing off his significant investment in tutoring the ghoul toward being useful toward his agenda. Instead, Kaneki had returned more troubled than ever, still remembering the Count, and with scandalous information on one of the government's RISE agents on top of it. Dooku enjoyed curious reversals like this, particularly when they benefited him.

At any rate, Dooku arrives at the Police Station at the appointed time, wearing a respectable suit and a rueful, sympathetic smile on his face. Now that he has the ghoul officially under his wing, his work can truly begin to proceed.]

Hello, Sasaki. It is good to see you in person again, even under these unfortunate circumstances.

[ Super juicy stuff which Sasaki doesn't care about.or at least shows himself not to care, because he already got into a lot of trouble and doesn't want to push it. The whole matter with Yuri has finally been solved - somewhat - and Sasaki is a bit more at ease not having to think about that particular subject anymore.

Even if he is on probation.

But hey, at least it's not as bad as it could have been.

Sasaki smiles when he finally meets the man and nods after ]

Count Dooku, it's a pleasure to see you again. [ he shakes his head politely, though ] Not at all. I've come forward to own up Kaneki's mistakes. People have been kind regarding them nonetheless and the probation serves to show the errors I've once committed . [ in other words, he doesn't mind it at all ]

[the arcade is about to be a lot less of a fun place once Sasaki catches sight of a familiar figure on her tiptoes in front of some cabinet.

Hazel is completely consumed with the game, fingers clacking away at the buttons with practiced finesse. she doesn't even turn around to learn the identity of whoever it is coming up behind her, just spares half a second to wave dismissively at them before going right back to work.]

[ Oh, c'mon, it's not that bad. Sasaneki already knows how competitive she can get, but he doesn't think that automatically means it will be less fun. Hazel might not look up at Sasaki, but he recognizes her. With a hum, he shrugs softly after ]

[you clearly have not heard Josuke talk about the time she punched a cabinet screen and mashed the glass into her hand to keep herself from losing. this is going to be the opposite of fun.

that familiar voice finally gets her to turn, although only because she'd just finished up the level. it's...not really a friendly expression on her face, but the irritation at least is gone.]

[It's totally his dog.

Riku comes jogging after the mid-sized, wet furball pretending to be a dog. They match, Riku with his white hair and Shiro the Samoyed. The dog has a leash dragging behind it, and Riku has his sneakers dangling from one hand. He hurries after the dog and drags him back by the collar as soon as he gets within reach, pointing at him.]

Shiro, sit down.

[The dog sits, and Riku reaches forward, offering Sasaki a hand up.]

... Sorry. He got away on me. Usually he's better about staying close by.

[ Sasaki doesn't seem to be figthing the dog, at least, neither he is afraid of him. Sure, the picture he was sketching probably got ruined, but he seems to be a bit more worried about trying to hold the pup so it won't run off again before Riku finally gets a hold of him.

when the dog sits, he blinks for a second - oh it's good behaved after all! Good dog, Shiro. ]

it's quite alright, don't worry. I like dogs. [ he accepts the offer and Sasaki stands, hand reaching to pet the dog's head ]

He is really cute.

[Riku moves past Sasaki to collect the sketchbook, picking it up to hand over to him. Shiro, naturally, simply sits, tail carving a fan-shaped mark in the sand as he wags it, panting contentedly under Sasaki's hand.]

Here. He kind of got it wet, huh...?

The first thing that Haen does when she returns via the Porter and finds out that some months have passed, is track down (or attempt to) people she knows. And after speaking with Kaneki -- no, Sasaki now -- on the network, she heads to the Lucky Cat for both a much needed beverage refresher, and to see if she can get her job back.

So she's doubly pleased when she can do that, and finds Sasaki in person. So much so that in the middle of him preparing an order, Haen just goes round the counter and envelops him in a tight hug. ]

Oh my god Haen don't just suddenly hug people.

Sasaki spots her, and of course he offers a smile but had every intention of at least finish his order - until Haen still approaches and still wraps her arms around him and never mind finishing his order now. He gasps, and there goes the latté art he was doing.

Still, he isn't too angry.

"Haen-" he smiles, and since it's already ruined, might as well. He puts down the steamed milk and the coffee cup, and turns so he can hug her bac. "Welcome back!"

Abruptly hugging people is the best way, what are you talking about?

Haen hardly notices the ruined latte art, but Sasaki gets an extra long hug before she pulls back. "I'm glad to be back," she answers sincerely. "Good guanines, let me take a look at you. Well, you're just as handsome as before!"

[Leon wasn't usually much of a beach person, at all. He just— didn't love the sun, all that much, or being hot, or the feeling of sun on his back, or the feeling of sand between his toes.

So why was he at the beach, anyways? Well, it was more than he was walking near the beach, when he sees a dog jump on top of a guy. He'd usually be one to just walk more quickly when someone seems to be in trouble, but maybe he could help out with this, at least a little. He runs over.]

Hey— who's your owner, huh?

[Of course, it sounds like English, generally, but the dog seems to be able to understand him...?]

[ even though sasaki was jumped by an excited dog and attacked with licks and drools, he doesn't seem to mind that much, laughing a little. When he hears another voice, he tries to push the dog off him because that question was totally not meant to the dog, of course ]

Ah- hello! [ it's a familiar face. If Leon recognizes him as Kaneki or not, he won't be asking. he will assume it's their first time meeting, it's easier like that ] he came out of nowhere. Maybe he has a collar-

[ give Sassan a moment, he needs to put down his sketchbook and pencils ]

[His eyes widen a little in recognition, but if Sasaki doesn't acknowledge that they've met already then he isn't going to push it... or something. It was a pretty awkward date, after all. Maybe it was better to pretend it didn't happen at all... He didn't really want to think back on that too much.]

[He reaches over to examine the dog's neck, whispering comforting platitudes to it as he does so.]

[Charlie is perched on the railing behind the DDR machines as she waits for Sasaki to turn up, her legs swinging, probably slightly throwing off the balance of the girl trying to play. Oops?]

[She's dressed in a jeans skirt, black leggings and a blue t-shirt, and her red hair is tugged back into a pony tail in preparation for MUSIC COMBAT!]

[ sasaki didn't come so fancy, but no matter. He will try not to cheat due to his abilities, but if Charlie proves to be using her own - well, then no one can blame him, right?

As he approaches the DDR machine and spots her, he smiles ]

[This wasn't dressed up for Charlie, just habit really, and she hopped off the railing with a little 'hup' and grinned at him.]

Hey! Yeah, that's me. Cool to meet you.

[It didn't take long after their conversation for Kaneda to meet up with Sasaki, their meetup at the Lucky Cat anything but coincidence. Kaneda stopped by more often now with Tadashi gone, and with Sasaki working on coffee while he sometimes jumped behind the line, it was easy to meet up with him.

Time to see what this latte art was really about.

And honestly, just watching Sasaki work is unlike anything he's ever seen as far as food preparing goes. It felt like such a fluid motion, not like the punctuated turning of a tamagoyaki or yakionigiri...]

[ Thirteen nights in and warehouse duty has been the deadest, most boring assignment of all time. Nicolas can't say he minds it, in all honesty. It's something to do that doesn't involve having to deal with a large number of people and, after the murders in May, a lot of dull, quiet time is probably for the best. Of course, a little too quiet can be... mind-numbing. So he's begun making guesses at what the mysterious cargo is every time he and his partner for the job, Sasaki, cross paths while doing their rounds of the place.

This time it's cans of tomato sauce.

[ everything about this job has been terribly boring so far, but since Sasaki suffers from usual insomnia, it'd make no difference being here or rolling around in bed. At least he has someone else to accompany him during this really long job where nothing happened.

And the guessing game is what seems to be the most fun thing to do around here, so of course Sasaki wasted no time but to join ]
