This is not the most exhausted Kel has ever been by a long shot, but right now, right at this moment, she’s having trouble coming up with more than one or two instances that were worse. She might even be tired enough to gasp! relax after this past week.

Luckily she’s just been paid.

Now, her sensible self has gripped her spend-thrift self firmly by the ear as far as the actual paycheck goes, but the bonus money, ah.

That’s another story entirely.

[Kel waits by the porter, mentally listing all the sensible clothing items she actually needs. Kanaya had provided her a good amount of outer clothing, but she’s lacking in breast bands and possibly shoes.
And as long as she’s convinced herself that she’s treating Aerith and only being sensible for herself, she may just get through this day without any guilt.]

[Having a rich friend is turning out to be pretty useful. Of course, Aerith's going to help Kel extend her wardrobe too, BUT there's no reason she can't treat herself, as well. Or have herself treated. Whichever. Summer is coming and her closet is sadly barren and she can't have that.

She's a bit late coming out of the porter, because as an unsettled imPort, she has to argue sometimes to get to where she needs to go without interrogation. They just like wasting her time.]

Kel!

[She's got on her usual pink dress, sans jacket to make trying on clothes easier.]

Where to first?

[Kel grins and offers her arm, something she's already in the habit of after only a week living at Lucy's farm]

There's an open air market with quite a few shops two blocks over. I thought starting there would be a good plan.

[It's a strip mall with plenty of options, mostly geared towards clothing]

[Well, okay. Aerith loops arms with Kel and lets her lead the way.]

[And, of course, because she has a list:]

I need sandals, a swim suit, some lighter summer shirts and skirts, socks, new bras and panties - maybe a sports bra? - and I want a few nice dresses in case I go on another date.

[Kel lets out a breath, hating these moments the more they come up]

Thank the Goddess, I was afraid I would have to ask the store clerks. I need some too, I've...only had the one these past few months.

Rincewind

[Kel sits at the counter of a small pub called ‘O’Brian’s’ , chatting with the bar tender, and keeping an eye on the door. She knows the staff well enough by now to have requested and gotten a space cleared by the bar just in case Rincewind is followed by the Luggage. Hopefully it’s enough.]

[he's used a Porter to get here, which unfortunately the Luggage does not follow through as easily. This doesn't necessarily mean their night will be without the box's presence completely - for a heavy chest, the Luggage runs remarkably fast - but it does mean that the skinny wizard is alone when he finally arrives.

He lifts a hand in awkward greeting and beelines for the bar.]

This is the place you like, is it? Never been. Looks quite nice. Smells nice. That's something I've liked about this world, the taverns here don't constantly smell of piss and old beer. - Well, mostly.

[Kel waves him to the seat next to her, grinning]

That and the lack of rushes on the floor, rather odd. As though they don't expect the mess. Well, the oddest thing is the fireplace.

[A gesture takes in the gas fireplace with a very cheerful screen of a loop of flames]

Keeps the smoke down, certainly.

[She slides a menu to him and smiles at the bar tender]

I'll have the ginger cider, Jesi, to start.

...What the bloody hell is the purpose of that? [staring aghast at the fake fireplace. Rincewind shakes his head slowly. He's had a lot of good things to say about the technological advances of this world - indoor heating is a marvel - but every now and then something blindsides him with its idiocy.]

Oh, er - [distracted by the bartender's expectant look] - your cheapest dark ale, if you don't mind. Thanks.

So. You were saying you've had a rough go of it lately?

[Kel grimaces and shrugs]

It wasn't too bad, really.

I'm just not accustomed to...I expected to have to guard someone from physical harm, but I ended up needing to comfort them all the time.

[She picks up the glass the bar tender hands her and takes a meditative sip]

Being able to fight a few people came as a relief, I'll admit.

Not part of normal knightly duties? [with a friendly, teasing smirk. He thanks the bartender when his drink is dropped off as well.] More sword and shield than hand-holding, I'd expect.

Who was it you got to fight, then? I do take it you won, since you seem to be in one piece.

Perry

[Kel is standing in front of a Blush, her sensitive nose twitching at the plethora of smells drifting out from the door. Casting a doubtful glance downwards, she asks]
Are you quite sure?

[Deciding to be human for this trip, as it's easier to communicate without the use of writing things down and it's a heck of a lot better to put lotion on his skin when it's not completely covered in fur.

Perry was a regular at the store, enough that most of the employees call him by name when he visits. Because of this he doesn't understand Kel's uncertainty, because with such nice service and great products he had a hard time seeing how anyone would be wary of entering it.

He flashes Kel a thumbs up and a smile. Seriously there is nothing bad about this place, trust him.]

[Kel follows uneasily, overwhelmed by the unfamiliar smells and brightly colored packages.

Thinking back, she wasn't sure is she'd ever used bath salts that she hadn't purchased straight from the bath houses. If this was similar to where those attendants purchased theirs, she feared for their noses.

Pausing in front of a basket of soap flowers, Kel tugs at Perry's sleeve]

What is the point of all this again?

[Perry shrugs, slightly surprised that Kel would ask such a question. He then signs his answer.]

Feeling good

[It's not that Kel hasn't come in from field wanting nothing more than a bath on more than one occasion, but the variety is staggering]

...Where to start then?

[Perry rubs his chin thoughtfully, wondering where would be a good place to start. He wanted something that they could use for their movie nights without you know, having to take their clothes and climbing into the bathtub to use it. Which would defeat the point of having a movie night.

Looking around, he soon smiles and points Kel to the masks section. Yes this should be a good place to start!]

Kanaya

[It’s probably a good thing that the smith is willing to show Kanaya around, because Kel is too enthralled with going over every inch of her new naginata . And once she’s done with inspecting it, she’ll wait by the door for Kanaya to be finished. Not quivering exactly, she’s very still and very patient.
But she does want to go home at run through a pattern dance.]

[ Once Kanaya's finished speaking with the smith, mostly looking at samples and discussing prices, with a few digressions into the actual process, she assures them she'll be back when she knows exactly what she needs and goes back to the front to find Kel.

She can't help cocking a brow and raising a smirk. ]

You look like you've just come out a toy store! I can practically smell the anticipation on you.

[Kel gives her her most expressionless Yamani Lump face]

[ Still, Kanaya has to fight back a chuckle, she hasn't seen Kel quite so blank before. She's sure she must just be dying for the question, so Kanaya goes ahead and asks. ]

[Kel squirms in just the tiniest bit of embarrassment, but no, pride and excitement win out]

It's a naginata or a glaive, depending on where you live. It's the weapon I'm best with. [Reaching up over her shoulder, Kel grips the pole of it to resettle the weapon in its harness]

The sword I was able to get ready made, but this I wanted forged specially.

I know you'd mentioned polearms, so I imagine this is the particular type. What about it was made specially?
