CLOSED TO KANAYA
It's through the front door he comes, not with a crash, but a simple, sudden turn of the handle, the entirety of it coming free with a soft crunch under the strength of his gloved hand. He's not doing this as purely human-looking, calling on the heightened, well, everything of a mid-form. Still human enough, but taller, ears pointier, fangs more pronounced, with claws and yellowing eyes and more, even wilder hair than usual. Everything he can hide under his sweater and long coat, easily.
Door forced open, he'll quietly swing it open, slowly, looking around the edge of it before deciding the coast looked clear. It wasn't dark just yet, so he has to assume the vampire is still sleeping.
Now where was the door to the bedroom, he wonders silently to himself as he steps in and carefully shuts the door behind him. ]

She draws her knife before she lets her glow out, bathing the whole room in light. ]
She isn't here. It's just you and me.

At that point, knife drawn, but not yet before him to act as defense, he pauses. Now she is familiar, the young woman he'd met in the fire all those months ago. ]
You?
[ There's a moment of confusion that flashes across his face, brow furrowing. If not the fledgling, then maybe the girl who'd been feeding them or their sire, those he would have anticipated, but this? Unexpected. ]

You're killing people I swore to protect, who else would it have been? You offered to help when I needed it! Was that simply a ploy to disguise how reprehensible a cliche you are at heart?
no subject
[ Something he does his best to say calmly. If this is the human girl who was protecting them, then the human and the, well, whatever she is now were one in the same. Interesting. ]
But this world, not you. This world isn't meant to have your little pets in it. Everyone knows, but they refuse to act.
no subject
You're no less a parasite than their sire.
[ She's heard enough. She didn't come here expecting him to go quietly, and she didn't intend to arrest him in good health. She'll make him bleed for this. She darts forward, thrusting her knife at him. ]
no subject
Huh. Fine. If we're going for cliches, better that one than the foolish little girl.
no subject
Better? You might as well be playing out a hack script!
no subject
Being stabbed doesn't actually seem to bother him, aside from the curl of a grimace that's short-lived across his face. He can ignore the pain. Dangerous to do, admittedly, but he'll take that chance with a knife so mundane as hers. ]
And you're not? This isn't a movie!
no subject
Then maybe you should try acting like a person instead of a character!
[ Her feet are off the ground, and that's no way to continue a fight. She pulls out the knife to jab it in his wrist, even if he doesn't respond to the pain, maybe severing his tendons will break his grip. But, for good measure, she also swings her foot between his legs, because it's not a serious fight until she does that at least once. ]
no subject
That doesn't even make sens--!
[ But damn, isn't she fast? Nicolas may have avoided the knife this time around, but not the kick. For someone complaining about this being a hack script, she certainly plays to the cheap laughs! He doesn't actually feel the pain (thank Gaia for that), but there's an automatic reaction where can't help but wince and move to guard. ]
no subject
She takes advantage of the change in his guard, rushing in with her knife towards his stomach. She'll get some kind of pain out of him, even if she has to disembowel him to do it. ]
no subject
He will grab at her, though, after dropping his own knife to instead try and wrestle her -- maybe even throw her -- away from him. ]

STREET IN HEROPA, OPEN
The evening crowd out on the street scatters, screaming and running, trying to put distance between themselves and what steps out of the rubble of the apartment building. The thrower, it would seem, is a hulking brute, a wolf-like creature with dark fur that tapers off into grey and then white, nine feet tall with the weight and muscle to go with the size, undoubtably fitting the description from previous reports in Heropa.
The runners draw no attention from him, however, which may be a minor blessing. Instead, when he lets out a rumbling snarl, it's directed towards whoever he's just put through the storefront, and then he's off like a shot, leaping down from the second floor (landing on a car as he does, with a mighty crunch) and making a beeline straight across the street once he hits the ground proper. ]

She falls through a portal, emerging on the sign of Will's poor bait shop leaping towards him in an attempt to grab the fur on his back. She's already lost her knife, but she can still use her teeth. ]
no subject
He's going to throw himself straight against the first firm, upright object he sees. In this case, some drywall still hanging on for dear life. He's angling to turn as he throws himself, to ram both himself and Kanaya straight through it. ]
no subject
Facing him head-on is as good as a death sentence while she's unarmed. She has to fight smart, try to take him down. So she goes for his legs, trying to topple him from the bottom. If she can get a good grip, maybe she can twist it far enough in the wrong direction that he'll stay down. ]

He's forced back a step, shaking his head vigorously to clear it after that, but otherwise? The only damage that seems to be sticking is the bite she'd given him moments before. Again, he charges, claws reaching out towards her as he leaps, completely unfazed (or perhaps simply not realizing the danger of it) by the counter she's now holding between them. ]

She pulls it back, waiting until he's in reach before swinging it at him, hard enough to break it. ]
I think this might be a good part for folks to start threadjack/breaking them up?
It takes longer for him to get back to his feet this time, for sure, but he's still doing it, still getting up again. ]
definitely!
Maybe he'll finally stay down if she drives this through his heart. There's a satisfying irony in the idea of staking a vampire hunter. ]

[It caught her curiosity.]
[She was not, however, in her 'vampire form' when she made her way through Heropa that evening, preferring the lack of attention that her human body called to itself. But even like that, she heard the smashing of glass and flesh, the familiar noises of a battle, and she hurried in that direction, tugging the hood of her sweatshirt up as she made her way around the corner just in time to see...A wolf? A large wolf, admittedly. Facing off against a...glowing, horned young woman.]
[Huh.]
[She reached for her magic, feeling the familiar tingle of energy as glowing blue swirls began to dance earound her fingers, her arms still at her sides, as she started towards them. She was trying to size up who was who, which side should she help? If she should at all. It could be some unrelated squabble but...really...this was too much of a coincidence, wasn't it?]
