Aside from handling Wayne Enterprises and Foundation business and going out as Blackbird, Tim hasn't really been out and about much the last few weeks. And since Dick isn't really all that hands-on about the business (not that Tim can blame him; Dick as an adult wasn't that interested in running WE, let alone sixteen-year-old Dick), that means they haven't really had a lot of time together. He probably should have checked on Dick himself at some point (he's the older brother now, he's pretty sure that's his job), but Dick got around to it first. Which is fine.

He shows up earlier than agreed upon, as is pretty much normal (and he kind of expects Dick to do it, too, but he manages to show up first by at least a little while). It gives him time to finish his coffee, at least, because it wouldn't be a great look to be falling asleep on patrol.

[ Dick's only five minutes early, which for him is practically late. Still, he figures he can be forgiven: he's been running himself ragged lately, finishing his junior year of school on top of everything else. But that's no excuse to be a stranger.

So when he shows up on the rooftop for their meeting, it's with a smile on his face that covers up how tired he's been feeling. ]

Hey there. Fully caffeinated?

[alreadywon]

Guess we'll find out. [Sleep-deprivation is the Gotham condition, after all. They're both here, they're both reasonably awake, they're ready to roll.

He offers Dick a smile in return, albeit one that doesn't last all that long.] Got anywhere you wanted to hit up?

[performance]

I thought maybe we could just head out and see where the night takes us.

[alreadywon]

That works. [Nothing to see here, folks, just two teenagers preparing to throw themselves off buildings and engage in reckless violence. Maybe throw away his coffee cup first because littering.] How have you been?

[performance]

Nice job keeping our city clean, [ Dick says dramatically as Tim throws away that coffee cup. ]

I've been okay. Wrapping up the schoolyear, getting good grades, the works. And you? Staying out of trouble?

[ He's hilarious. ]

[alreadywon]

As much as I can, being a slacker high school dropout. [He doublechecks that his grapple still looks good to go.] You'll have to get educated for both of us, what with me being too busy with the family farm. [It's tragic, really, and clearly Tim's torn up about it, if by torn up you mean teasing.]

[performance]

You're too smart for high school anyway.

[ He shrugs airily, pulling out his grappling hook. ]

How's that going? Gotten grey hairs and thirty neckties yet? [ Tim will have to answer when they land, because he's swinging off the roof and out across the wide open space between buildings, traffic far below his feet. ]

[alreadywon]

[And Tim follows easily, letting Dick take the lead on what direction they go.] I may have picked up a few ties. [And suits. And other sartorial choices that aren't all that comfortable for him but project the right image.]

[performance]

[ It's easy, for now. Just rooftop patrolling. Getting used to Tim's rhythm, the way he does things. They haven't really done this together yet, after all. ]

Is it all as boring as it sounds?

[alreadywon]

[Tim, at least, has a better idea of Dick's style, even if it's not exactly the same Dick.] Yes and no. Depends on what you like doing. [Given that Tim was raised with the expectation of running a company eventually, he at least is used to the idea.]

So, only if you like making spreadsheets and charts for fun.
