A bit, yes. We've certainly stolen some aspects of it. But the changes between game are permanent.

We enjoy tactics, I suppose is the more accurate statement. Games are a means to that end. Da and I are both admirals.

Admirals? Really? [ john's straightens, adopting a more military posture in how he sits. miles might be from a different force from him, but rank is still rank and there are more than just a few lines that separate them. ] I suppose it's scratching an itch then. Not a lot you can do here.

[ Miles certainly doesn't look old enough to be an admiral. (Because he isn't.) But he can't help but grin a bit, instantly recognizing the military posture. ]

Not what we're used to, certainly. You're military yourself, I see.

[ after being in this world for god knows how long now, john has learned to suspend his belief a little bit. it seems like half the import population have a career and position they shouldn't really until at least their thirties.

Uh yeah, I was discharged back in 2012. [ a beat passes, when john remembers not everyone follows the same calendar and amends his statement. ] Four years ago. I was hoping to do one more tour, but things didn't work out that way. Life in a nutshell, really.
