I'm not defending Ed in this specific instance. He had no business being between you and an enemy, especially with your weapon drawn. But usually when people are telling me to be sensible they really mean I'm unfit for combat.

[ There's challenge in his tone, daring her to agree with that sentiment. ]

Do you really want me to say it? Because you know the answer to that. Yes, you're unfit for combat and it's not because you're short. You're better suited to commanding it.

[ Well. In the long term, that earns her some respect points. In the short term though, his temper is rising quickly. ]

I am perfectly capable of remaining functional even while injured. There's no need to do any of that - it's merely prudent if available.

What healers on your list do you have that would outright ignore you to continue their mission if you were to get injured? Or friends, for that matter. You getting hurt would halt things, Miles, whether you like it or not.
