[It's not until Tetsuo speaks the second time that his head whips around like a confused dog, like it's unsure if its master said its name or not. Eyes wide as dinner plates, his hands go rigid on the machine, turning to look at Tetsuo like he was suddenly speaking fluent English.

A part of him wants to ask why. Why would Tetsuo give away something he could readily show off to the world? Why would he give it to HIM? Sure, he knew that Tetsuo loved him more than anything else, he had the letter to prove that. But Tetsuo was Tetsuo, and material possessions, particularly ones he could show off...let's just day Tetsuo didn't give up anything so willingly.
