[He puts one hand up to hide his smile, tactfully managing not to say "like I said" and steering Leon outside.]

What kind of things do you like? They seem to have a little of everything.

[He sort of glares at all of the options. It's not that he doesn't like food, or something. It's probably mostly just leftover irritation from the whole doujinshi thing from earlier. Even though this was clearly supposed to be a distraction from that.]

Uh ... sweets. Those donuts look good.

[He points to the stand selling them.]

Alright. I'll be right back. Can you find us somewhere to sit?

[He's just going to keep smiling steadily like his mood will diffuse over onto Leon if he does it long enough.]

[He nods and turns toward the mass of tables near the concessions area. He wanders a bit before finding a table, but when he does, he parks himself there. Hopefully Flynn will be able to find him by the pink head of hair... That should make things easy, right?]

[Pink is not nearly as uncommon a color in the Fanport crowd as it might be somewhere else, but hey, Flynn has sharp eyes. It's only a few minutes before he returns, setting a box of assorted donuts down on the table as a peace offering and taking the seat across from Leon.]

Here. It's pretty lively out here, isn't it?

[Leon takes a donut— one coated in powdered sugar— and takes a bite out of it before answering.]

Yeah, it is.

[He takes another bite of his donut and chews on it, thoughtfully.]

You should have a donut, they're good.

[Well, that's magnanimous. Flynn really tries to hold back a laugh and picks out a donut more or less at random.]

[Which... meant...]

Ah... right, thanks for these.

[The laugh escapes this time, and Flynn brushes aside the words with a small wave of his hand.]

No, it's nothing. I offered.

[He takes a contemplative nibble of the donut and cocks his head.]

You know, I've never tried making these. I don't think our kitchen is set up for it though.

[He takes another bite, and through a full-ish mouth—]

You can cook?

[Not that Leon needed to be that impressed, he could cook a little. But Flynn sounded like he was more involved in it.]

Well, a bit. Yuri did most of the cooking when we younger. I've been practicing though.

[THIS IS NOT SAFE, LEON.]

I think it'd be fun to try something new like this.

[He doesn't know any better. Maybe he'll try to help.

His help would probably not be that helpful, though.]

They're fried, right? I wonder what the recipe's like...

[He finishes his donut off and grabs another one.]

[If he could stop Flynn from putting terrible things in donuts it would probably be a singular service to mankind.]

A lot of cakes are alike. Probably flour, eggs, milk, sugar... Maybe pepper to make them more exciting.

[Really, that doesn't sound so hard. He takes an inquisitive bite of his pepper-less donut for comparison.]

[He gives Flynn an odd look.]

Um— don't you think that might taste a little bit odd?

[He doesn't want to be Flynn's guinea pig, all of the sudden...]

What, do you think so?

[WELL... He doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, so maybe he should trust Leon's judgment on this.

Or maybe Leon would like it if he tried it. Hmmmmm.]

[.... He hates his life so much.]

I don't think it would make sense, that's all. It's supposed to be sweet, not peppery.

I think the contrast is supposed to enhance the sweetness. ...But maybe just chocolate would be fine.

[Maybe Leon likes boring food?? If he tries cooking for someone else he should take their taste into account and all.]

[Wow he doesn't like boring food, he just likes food that tastes good!]

Uh... how about half and half? Half of them with pepper, and half of them with chocolate.

Then we could try both. That's a good idea.

[And he can eat the pepper ones, if it comes to that.]

[PLEASE EAT THE PEPPER ONES.

He grabs another donut. He's eaten like half of them, stop him.]

Yeah. I'll even try a pepper one, alright?

[Flynn is 0% helpful at stopping him, he's still working on his first donut.]

I think they'll be good. But you don't have to force yourself.

[He snorts a little.]

Who says I'm forcing myself? I said I'd eat one.
