I can't tell what you can do, if that's what you're asking. I can -- get a general feel for what kind of person you are, that's all. Weird, to me, is -- for instance, there used to be a man here I knew who was outwardly a pretty good guy, but... he didn't feel like that at all. That kind of thing is what's weird to me.

[Suddenly she's super excited again! There's no one alive like her back home!]

[Whoa, she's instantly right back to being completely stoked. But somehow he gets the feeling that... the way their powers work isn't the same. Does that count as doing the same thing?]

Mine may not act the same as yours, though. How do you do it?

[Can he blame her? She's literally one of a kind.]

It's... kind of hard to explain. I can look inside people and read their souls. If I do that, I can get a feel for the kind of person they are, or if something's wrong or different.

Like Cloud from back home. His soul had a kind of echo that was familiar. Yours... seems to have something different about it. Tetsuo's is really special.

[He's interested. This is like... being able to read someone's heart. He's curious if Kairi can do this.]

Well -- my ability isn't quite as -- graceful as that. Mine works via scent. But I can pick up on magic or strong emotion, too. I think it's to do with my magic, but... I could be wrong.

[He's not, really. It's an effect of using the darkness, after all.]

[Okay, so, not exactly like her. She made a little mistake there. But... still. This is the closest to a peer she's ever been and she's not gonna let this go.]

What do you sense off me?

[He looks thoughtful now. It's harder to pick out just one person, but she's right there, so it's not too bad.]

Green things, light. Rain. Magic. Also, you're excited, but I could tell that visually just as easily.

[Seems to him a lot of the people he knows smell like magic, actually.]

That's very pretty.

[She's happy with that. It's perfectly her in a neat little bow. Riku really does have a talent.]

You can tell I'm magic by my smell? Or because you remembered I'm a healer?

[There may be no hiding anything from this kid...]

Little of both. Your magic is... similar to ours, I think. Yours reminds me of Sora's.

[She blinks, looks off into the distance for a moment, then finally back to Riku.]

Though it'll be a little weird to find out what the other Aerith is like. I wonder if we're the same or not.

Hm, well. I would doubt that it's an exact match. Different circumstances make different people.

[Look at what his Replica had been compared to him, or Roxas and Sora. No matter the relation, he's not sure anyone can be exactly the same as anyone else.]

Honestly, though, he's only gonna care about making friends. He'll probably pay attention to that for about ten seconds.

[Sora has a way of making people feel comfortable, it seems to him.]

That makes a lot of sense.

[Briefly, she wonders if her other self had an easier life than she did, but she shoos that thought away quickly. Their lunch is finally finished which serves as the perfect distraction away from that train of thought.]

Hey, hey, look over here for a second!

[She pulls her phone out again and snaps a quick selfie of them with their ramen bowls.]

Riku has a hard time with pictures, generally -- he always ends up anticipating it too much and holding his face weird, or something. He gets the feeling he isn't very photogenic. But Aerith is fast enough that it's more of a candid shot than it might be and she's taken it almost before he realizes what she's doing.]

... How weird did it come out?

[His eyes are probably closed or something.]

[She checks it, and... oh no.]

You were in the middle of blinking. It looks like you're giving the ramen bedroom eyes.

[So of course she's keeping it forever, because that's hilarious.]

[His voice comes out with next to no actual tone to it. Well, at least he'd been prepared for this. Aerith's amused enough though that he's entertained all the same.]

I'm really bad at pictures.

[Hey.

That was a perfect picture.

She taps the screen, bringing the camera back up.]

Do you want to try again?

I think I'll pass, actually. If you don't mind.

[It just feels so weird to wait for someone to take a picture of him. There are pictures of him online, certainly, but most of them are snuck with a phone camera, or they're scattered group shots, or whatever. He's not really sure what the issue is.]

I kinda psych myself out while I'm anticipating it, you know?

Okay!

[She'll just put her phone away then. She likes Riku a lot so far, so she doesn't want to risk making him feel more uncomfortable or anything. Besides, too much messing around will just make the noodles get cold.]

Then let's eat!

You should take a picture of your portrait, though. [He indicates the noodles, smile returning.

And YES, warm noodles are more important than pictures anyway, let's be real here.]

[Quickly she snaps one extra pic of just her seaweedy self, then one of Riku's. Then, finally, settles down to eat.]
