[She holds up an instant film camera with a grin, shaking it a little to gesture.]

I mean, you do look pretty great.

Aw, thanks!

[ But oh, boy. An instant film camera--for one, Kasumi hasn't seen one in action probably ever, and she's curious but--hm. At least if it were digital, she could swoop in and mysteriously wipe the picture out of existence later... Then again, she is an amazing thief... And she really wants to see that old school instant film camera in action... ]

I mean--you're the celebrity, here! I should be asking you if I could get a picture. I'm honored, really.

[ Just don't be surprised if that photo mysteriously vanishes at some point. ]

C'mon! I can't not get a selfie when your costume looks like that.

[hope you don't mind Maya swooping beside you to hold out this camera, Kasumi. It's got a little mirror attached to the lens, complete with bunny ears, so that the user can take selfies.

As soon as she clicks the button, once they're nice and well posed, it flashes and begins to whirr, a loud plastic sheet clicking and snapping as the camera spits out a credit-card sized instant film. Maya takes it out and the once black film starts to turn brown.]

Ta-daaaah! This stuff is the coolest.

[Retro by today's standards, and SUPER retro by Maya's.]

Which is why she can't help the way her expression just sort of lights up in kind of the same way a little kid's lights up on Christmas. And--okay, if this were Kasumi proper, she'd reel that back easily to retain her cool demeanor, but right now?

Merry Christmas. ]

Oh... wow. That's... Really amazing.

It's cool like, every time.

[Maya doesn't even think about the fact it may be strange for a local to find this camera so interesting. But it's like a relic! Everyone should be entertained!

As the film begins to develop, their smiling faces become more and more apparent, and Maya cups her hand around the top of the photo to help them both see a little better without the glare of the convention lights above them.]

[ Odd how where Kasumi is from, people can pretty much take pictures with their eyes if they're equipped with implants or something like that--heck, Kasumi's graybox effectively gives her a photographic memory that would almost render pictures useless, but she likes having photographs anyway, much in the same way that she prefers rare paper books that she could easily have gotten digitally on a datapad instead. Still, digital photographs are still different from this. This is much more impressive, she thinks. ]

Neat. The quality of the picture isn't even that clear, but... it's charming?

Right? I heard they're really popular in Japan-- cos, um, my producer, J.J.? She's really great, she keeps looking for stuff that's kinda like home for me and everyone else.

Anyway, I bet it's popular cos they kinda look like the photos you get out of those Purikura booths!

Actually, I haven't really been there myself... My dojo's in California. But, there's also a lot more Japanese stuff in California compared to here.
