[That grin on his face is amused and smug at the same time. And he gives her a squeeze.]

Nah. You're the one who gets the nice compliments.

[ There's an expression that flashes across her face that just sort of says she's curious, but at the same time she knows she might regret asking. Because Joker is Joker and he's like, everyone's weird brother on the crew. In the end, she decides to take the plunge. ]

Hold on. What thing with the chair?

[ As soon as she says it, though, she's already regretting it. ]

[In response, he grins even more broadly. Even more wickedly. He can see the curiosity on her face. And the uncertainty. He should tell her. But at the same time...]

Oh, just something I picked up in Orlais.

[... being cryptic as shit is pretty fun.]

[ She wants to know but she also really doesn't, it's the worst dilemma, Bull! Kasumi at least knows what Orlais is, thanks to Hawke, so she just comes to assume it's something strange.

And intriguing. Damn it. ]

Uh-huh. And are you going to elaborate, or--?

[ This must be what it feels like to have a conversation with Kasumi "cryptic as fuck" Goto ]

Do you want me to elaborate?

[Oh, Kasumi. You're easy to read without your hood.]

[And honestly, it's fun to troll her like this. There might not even be a 'thing with a chair'. He might just be making this all up.]

[ Okay, look here, Bull--she's not really trying right now because she knows he'd be able to read her regardless! She just stares at him for a few moments... and then she clicks her tongue and shrugs. ]

Well. I guess I don't really need to know. He already told me what he thought about the whole thing, anyway. I'm a little surprised, actually! It was a little... hm.

[ Counter-troll, Bull. ]

Anyway, how've you been?

Oh come on. Don't be a sore loser.

[That arm around her shifts enough to give her shoulder a little shove. She could be NOT bluffing, but... it seemed like the guy enjoyed himself. Unless he had some kind of weird lying power.]

[ Truth is, Joker raved about it, Kasumi was glad for both him and Bull that they had a good time. The idea still baffled her, given what she knows about Joker's ailment, but she figures his Porter-given power helped... and that's about where she stopped keeping on thinking about it. To his inquiry, she flashes a small smile. ]

Surviving.

[ That is, apparently, what disappearing off the face of the earth for about a month (again) means. Surviving. ]

I heard about some interesting things going down at the house. Kaneda fell for a girl, or something?

... I hear you.

[Well. If she sounds like that, then... he doesn't really have a choice. Kasumi earns another hug. A longer one. Without squeezing this time.]

[Because yeah. He does hear it.]

Yeah, he did. And she fell for him. But neither of 'em see it.

[ She sort of just lets him hug her, knowing that there's a silent understanding there that she's been going through a tough time, and appreciating that show of support. Bull does give some pretty comfy hugs when he's not almost going to snap you in half. She shakes a little in his arms from the small laugh she lets out. ]

We had this really long conversation about how he wasn't sure what to do... I couldn't help it, it was so silly. They need to just... go for it, you know?

I feel like I had the same damn talk with Maya. Months ago.

[Yeah, it's long hug time now. Long hug and talking. Who cares about the con right now? If she needs to get held for a few minutes, sure. He'll oblige no problem.]

... but yeah. [His voice softens up.] Yeah, they really do.

[ By now people are starting to pay (more) attention to the Iron Bull and the hug he's giving to this seemingly random fan and Kasumi, wanting to avoid the attention, pulls away, clears her throat. ]

Well. They'll figure it out sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.

[ Since who knows if there'll be a "later." She gives him a joking smile. ]

Sorry. Didn't mean to get all heavy in the middle of a convention, of all places.

[Ah. Right. Crowds. Not everyone is as comfortable with this sort of thing as he is. Especially not someone as secretive as Kasumi. So he doesn't resist when she pulls away, laughing for effect, though there's no real humor behind it. If he laughs it off, those onlookers will probably chalk this up to an overly eager fan and think nothing more of it.]

And if they don't, they've got us to talk some sense into their heads.

[Since these two probably know there isn't always a "later", by now.]

Hey, no harm done. Besides. I asked, didn't I?

Yeah, we'll have to see how far that takes us. I haven't exactly known Kaneda to be the "talk sense into" type, but I feel like he got the message last time.

[ She waves a hand dismissively, chuckling, adding to that appearance of this being No Big Deal to the bystanders. ]

I appreciate it, Bull. Let's you and I catch up properly sometime.

Yeah, he's usually the 'pound sense into' type. I'll try Maya again if you want to try and wrangle him.

[His grin is a lot more real than that laugh just was. And he nods.]
