What, an entire website? [Rincewind gapes. He's still learning how to navigate this internet thing - that sounds terribly impressive. You must be incredibly famous, Ken, gosh.

But he makes a face at the name the fans have adopted, disapproving.]

What an awful name. Not yours, if course, but - they probably don't even realize how much that sounds like "cannibals". It's bothersome enough having a bunch of people following your every move without also having them named something so close to something so morbid.

[ kaneki doesn't think it's that impressive because it will remind you of a geocities website with comic sans as font and really bad graphics.

basically, it's an awful website.

It's Rincewind's last comment that leaves kaneki with an awkward expression. because REALLY DUDE. REALLY. ]

Ah... they aren't wrong tough. The name fits. [ he is a cannibal. ]

- Your fans are cannibals? [RINCEWIND LOOKS HORRIFIED. He waves two hands quickly, like he can suddenly ward off the conversation they've stumbled onto. What the hell is wrong with these people, that's what he wants to know.]

Right, from here on out I vow to never complain about a single person asking for me to sign something. Because at least it's a name they'll want, not my damn liver. Gods, but you certainly got the terrible end of the deal there, didn't you?

[ oh my GOD rincewind what the hell ]

No- I mean, I do hope they aren't.

I'm the cannibal. [ seriously man ]

[ahaha what.

Rincewind stares up uncomprehendingly for about thirty seconds. Then realization dawns. He waits for a smile and a bout of laughter that never come. He smiles slowly, reflexively, and oh look, drunk or not Rincewind is surprisingly good at finding himself on his feet again.]

Ah, we might have a slight language difference. Where you come from, does "cannibal" mean eating people?

[ this is the right time for Kaneki to back away a bit and give Rincewind enough room so he won't feel threatened - or if e feels like running away, he can, too.

He nods, anyway, and will add an explanation but he doubts it'll matter much ] I'm a ghoul; we are creatures who can only subside on human flesh or other ghoul's flesh. There are no other ghouls here, so that means I do, indeed, eat humans.

A ghoul? You don't say. [such polite interest! Such focused eye contact! Such absolute fear!]

Well, it's been absolutely lovely chatting with you, getting to know you, and now I think I'll -

[run away, apparently, which is what Rincewind's doing in the next second, gone from standing to sprinting in an instant turnaround that even few sober men would be able to manage.

No offense, Kaneki; it's just that cowards and cannibals don't mix.]

[ honestly he isn't going to think any less of the man for it. This is something Kaneki expects (the fact that other people don't do it is what is strange).

So he isn't going after him, neither he is going to try to explain (there isn't much he could explain, anyway) ]
