[Enid just feels lucky to have gotten out of it and not hurt someone "for Russia" or whatever nonsense they had drilled in her brain at the time. Thankfully most of it she can hardly recall and she truly lives with knowing she didn't hurt anyone, over and on top of surviving.

The comment about Carl brings her expression down a little more, as she nods in response. As much as she didn't want to be pessimistic about things anymore since growing a little back from home (and was trying to just stay positive), she can't help but agree with Carl's idea.]

...Probably. If there's one thing people will always do, it's that they'll try again.

You think so, too, huh?

[ It's hard not to assume the same. The Russians have been coming at them harder than ever... what's going to stop them this time? Especially after the bombing in another country? ]

But... [ She pauses, mulling over it. ] There are a lot of strong and kind people here. They will help protect us when that time comes.

[itstheirworld]

Yeah.

[She pauses as well, watching Sasha think over her thoughts, as well as going over her own. Before going home she would have saw things differently, been the type to think she could only count on herself, but now she can more or less see there are people to help when the times comes.]

If we work together. [She adds a little hesitantly, with a nod.]

[ Sasha needs to think optimistically and her smile brightens and she nods. Thinking the worse isn't going to do anyone any good and she feels kind of awful for how dark this conversation got. ]

Yeah! With everyone... and people like Carl, too. Carl seems very brave and strong.

[The conversation did turn a little dark, but she can forgive Sasha. Sometimes things just comes out like that, after all. No big deal.

Now that the conversation's lightening up again though, Enid's lips tug up at the corners a little. Sometimes Carl was a little stupid, too, in her opinion, but she muses that thought privately to herself. For the most part though, she agrees. He was a good friend and brave as was just said.]

Yeah. Carl is.

[ While Carl had no interest in being a hero, their last conversation revealed Carl would do anything for the people he cared about. That kind of fierce loyalty she could admire and she was glad to know him. ]

Have you two known each other long?

[itstheirworld]

No. I- It's hard to tell how long we've known each other with time here and at home. Not very long either way, probably.

[huntergames]

Really?

[ Enid's response comes as a surprise to Sasha. ]

I've known him for a few months here... although I don't think I know him that well yet myself.

[itstheirworld]

Yes.

[Why is that such a shock? Especially if Sasha knows about the world Carl comes from??? Enid eyes Sasha's reaction semi-curiously.]

Did Carl tell you about our world? [Which is a tentative question because one) Enid is not going to say anything if she hasn't heard anything about it and two) if she has, then really it should explain why she knows him well enough. In their world, you get to know a person quickly enough obviously.]

[huntergames]

Um.

[ Her hesitance is an obvious "yes", but she stalls on her answer before saying quietly: ]

... yes, he did. I've met his father, too.

[ Sasha felt a kind of kinship with Carl, even if his monsters were the undead and hers were giant man-eating creatures. Either way, they were both once humans and now people like Carl, Rick and Sasha had to fight for their lives. ]

[itstheirworld]

[So she doesn't have to say anything after all, or avoid the reason she asked.

Her voice falls quieter, becomes more forward too, as she says:]

Then you can imagine why it's easy to know someone well enough in a short time.

[huntergames]

[ It's a fair response. Sometimes when people are thrown into a dire situation, they become close fast. Perhaps it's the unknown amount of time they have that strengthens bonds. ]

... that's true. I'm sorry.

Um, do you like it here, then?

[itstheirworld]

[She breathes out with a sigh. Because it's fine. No apologies are needed, honestly. But she doesn't quite say that, opting to move past it to the question. She appears thoughtful for but a moment before shrugging in response.]

It's okay. There are some of pluses to being here- [she particularly doesn't mind being free to wander again outside and having to not worry about food or life being taken at each corner] -and then there are not.

[As she says all that she gives the stray cat a couple more pats to the head.]

It's nothing like home.

[ She silently agrees with a simple nod; while Sasha, at least at the moment, prefer to stay in this world it isn't without its own perils. The war has escalated, imPorts are often the target of some kind of attack and their own are always hurting one another. ]

I suppose home would not be "home" if everywhere else was like it.
