[ Kaidan was a fun guy! The master of fun! Fun was his middle name.

Only if you liked Honor and Integrity as measures of fun.

But at least he was a bad dancer, and said stupid things when he was drunk. ]

[It's hard to imagine Kaidan is capable of anything resembling fun, so he'll have excuse Felix if he laughs at that.]

Of course you can. I bet you're real hit at all those parties you go to, aren't you?

Well, nobody's stopped inviting me.

[ Not that they would. Even if he was The Worst, they were family. ]

So maybe, just maybe, I am one. Can you go to one without getting drugged?

I don't get drugged. You make it sounds as though I have no choice in the matter.

But yes. I'm perfectly capable of enjoying myself sober. I'm not that far gone.

[ The tone of voice says he's having trouble believing it. ]

I mean, I don't know you well enough to care a lot? But... I don't think anyone should want someone to be stoned out of their mind all of the time. I've -- I've known a lot of people who went that way. It's not a way to live.

I make one reference and all of a sudden you think I spend my entire life high? Surely you can see what a leap that is.

I'm a council Spectre -- and a marine -- you wouldn't believe how many times I've busted red sand runners.

Most people who talk about those kinds of things do it because they're addicted.

[Excuse him if his stare is more blank than impressed.]

Okay. I only know what one of those things are, but I can assure you my usage is purely recreational. Very casual. I don't even know that many dealers here.

[And of the ones he does know he doesn't even use his sister. Meth's not really his scene.]

[ That's not encouraging, but... he supposed it was better than nothing. Beneath his notice, rather than someone he needed to bust. ]

I've met a lot of "casual users" who use it a lot more than they think they do -- [ A pause. Kaidan was all about control, the idea of losing control like that wouldn't be pleasant -- then again, the primary drug for biotics was red sand, and.... thinking of that made him sick. ]

Just make sure you're careful. I, ah, mean that. I wouldn't want to see anyone get hurt -- or you get hurt.

[ He doesn't like Felix, but he also... well, he doesn't wish him harm, either. ]

[Felix doesn't know how to deal with virtual strangers expressing concern. Especially not virtual strangers like Kaidan. He's not used to it. Not when it actually sounds like it might be genuine. He doesn't trust that it is, but it discomforts him anyway.]

I'll do my best not to turn up dead in an alley. I wouldn't want to upset you.

Hell, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to turn up dead in an alleyway either, right?

But, uh, well, I can't say I approve, but I guess the first step is making sure you're alright.

Stone cold sober. Which I assume is your definition of all right.

It wouldn't do to be conducting business uninhibited.
