That's either incredibly cute or incredibly weird. You'd think he'd outgrow the awkward 12 year old response after a while.

Maybe everyone's just too young for him. Maybe I'll start acting like an awkward virgin in about a millennium.

[He stops and looks at her more closely. He knows about her frozen biology, but he hadn't considered the implications beyond what she's told him already. Especially since the things she has said are pretty gross.]

Wait, are you actually likely to make it that far? Are you immortal too now?

[She shrugs coolly, looking out at the Import Hall.]

To an extent. I know I'm going to die one day, and I know when and where and how. I just don't know how long until I get there.

I'm glad to hear my idle chatting skills have only gotten better with age.

That would be nice of you. Assuming you don't look completely horrific. If your body processes don't work does that mean you don't heal either?

I haven't figured that one out yet. Thought it would probably come around sooner or later. [She reaches up to touch her ear lightly.] I'd been thinking about another piercing, maybe that can be my test.

Not cartilage.

[He may not have any piercings himself, but he's spent time with enough people who have to know if you're going to have an injury that never heals you don't want it to be a cartilage piercing.]

[She gives a disappointed nod.]

Unfortunately. Got this one on a space station with instant healing gel, but I left that at home.

Couldn't you just prick your finger...?

Thought about that. But if I'm going to poke a hole in myself, I want it to have a purpose, yeah?

I suppose. Do you bleed?

[oddbod]

Well, I can bruise, which is related. It just took a very long time to fade.

[She lifts up the end of her dress just a bit, to show the slightest ring of an aged bruise below her knee.]

Got it on the submarine, back in February.

[It does look like it's fading, but February was a very long time ago.]

Aren't there people with magic healing powers here? Like Cosima? Couldn't she speed it up a bit for you?

I thought she could only do herself.

I don't know. Maybe she can. I didn't ask her.

I suppose we'll just have to run some experiments, then. Discoveries are what we both do best.
