[He keeps it up as they walk, only stopping when he thinks they're mostly healed. But he's taking in the c hange here, how Ken's netire attitude is different from even a month or so ago. This place has really been good for him, like it has Hiro.]

I didn't know you knew Maya! Should've guessed. What'd you guys dress up as?

[He only sort of knows of Pacifica in passing from the Russian sub and that she's friends from home with Dipper and Mabel. He'll get around to knowing her better sooner or later, he's sure.]

Kaneda-san brought her home like another stray dog. I think it was around Christmas.

[Ken stop talking about your roommate like an animal.]

She was... she's been very kind to me. I'd like to call her a friend. She's been really good for Tetsuo-san... and we're characters from a show we were watching. Tarot Trackers.

[Oh, sitting? He'd be glad to sit. He takes her hand with another nod, stepping as lightly as he can as he follows her. How does Mitsuru fight in these? And do all her school responsibilities in these? She's truly the President.]

Are you dressed up as someone, Kasumi-san?

[ Were Kasumi not so petite, she would totally princess carry Ken. Instead, she leads them slowly to a free bench, somewhere a little quieter. ]

Me? Oh. I'm dressed up as someone dressed up as a female version of Shepard.

Naturally he gravitated to it because he loves cute things... ] I think they have one of you to go with this, actually. [ SQUEAKS THE KORO PLUSH AGAIN...he seems amused by it. ] Something about how you two look cute as a pair, so naturally you'd look cute as toys as well.

I don't know if yours squeaks, though. [ It seems odd. ]

I'm not sure if I should be flattered. It's still strange seeing merchandise of myself... even back home, we had a lot of them but never of real people. [That doesn't mean he wants a Koromaru any less, so he starts to walk over to it, expecting Magicman to follow.]

If it squeaks, I bet Kaneda-san would find it hilarious.

I think she was. She was pretty excited when I showed it to her. And this is from a show called Tarot Tracker.

[Ah, that was a question he should've expected. Surprisingly, none of the fans have asked yet. Maybe they're busy makin up imaginative stories in their heads, or they already knew. Nothing was impossible here. He looks between Tex and the twins, and after making sure Dipper is too busy sputtering at some other question, he answers her.]

It was Mabel, which is why we're here helping out her booth. Dipper thought that I was dating someone else because of something I said to Kaneda-san, but she figured it out.

And she what, smashed you two together because she thought it would be fun? [ Her voice is teasing, mostly. Details, Ken, details. ]

She knew we were friends, when we both suck at making friends. She got it out of Dipper that he liked me, too, so she called to tell me I should talk to him.

But that was after I lied to Kaneda-san that I was dating someone, then forgot I told him because I got ported out.

What doesn't help matters for Ken is the girl selling the art, who goes from embarrassed by Ken finding out about her fantasies to excited about Kaneda's interest in her work. Yes, yes, let her show you! Ken's about to protest when she cuts through, chirping up to turn the pages in her portfolio and show him that print.

It's not a big print. Letter size, and the subject is Dipper and Ken. It's just cutesy lovey dovey stuff, except Ken is tiny. Like Komasan tiny, sitting on an older-looking Dipper's lap with ears and a fluffy tail reminiscent of one energetic shiba inu he's always around. This is apparently some sort of fad, because she isn't the only one drawing this "AU." They're both in big-eyed anime style.]

[Kaneda's attention strays momentarily from Ken towards the girl, who seems overly eager to share her work with him. And...who is he to deny her attention to something she clearly worked hard on, right? With a smirk to Ken, he steps over to take a look and--

Oh my god. That grin could not have spread wider if it tried.


He listens to the artist talk about her inspiration, a hand going to his chin 'thoughtfully'.]

I can see it...he does have that 'angry small dog' look to him.

[Ken is dying in the background as the girl grins so widely and nods. Yes! This guy gets it! She starts going on about how there have been debates over which dog would work best for Ken and people usually do what they want, but she went with a shiba to match Koromaru.

"There's even a comic!" she says, which seems to surprise and even mortify Ken as she holds up a small printed book.]
