[ Ridiculousness is right. Some time after talking to Spock, Miles is going to weave his way down to Heropa to find Jim. Alone, but surely not unsupervised. If he's not being shadowed physically then he has nearly half a dozen on call via telepathy if need be.

Not that he's thinking about any of that. He has one purpose in mind and one purpose only. ]

Hey, Jim! Come out, okay? I have to kidnap you!

[It takes Jim a while to get to the door. Somewhere in the back of his mind he knows he shouldn't be walking around but like hell he was sitting around waiting to completely heal. Or properly build his strength back up with baby steps for that matter.

He opens the door and looks down, leaning on the door jamb. He raises an eyebrow. Who...?]

Can I help you, kid?

[ Quite possibly the smallest kid that Jim has ever seen who is clearly not a toddler. Skinny and manic, practically hopping up and down in place with excitement. ]

You can help me by coming with me. Hurry up.

[ And he holds out his hand for Jim's expectantly. ]

...Wait wait wait, slow down.

Who are you, where are your parents and where do you want me to go with you?

[No move with his hands just yet.]

[ Miles just keeps his hand out then, wriggling his fingers when Jim doesn't acquiesce immediately. ]

De Chima and De Chima! And you know who I am already. We're friends!

[Jim takes a good hard look at this kid. His parents are here and in De Chima and he's quite small, quite insistent, telling him they're friends already...That jogs an image up in his mind and it's not of this little kid in front of him but...]

Miles?

[He's looking between Miles' hand and face.]

Why don't you come in first and tell me what's going on?

[ That bright smile is familiar too, one part insane to two parts gleeful. ]

Nuh uh, that's not how kidnapping works.

[Yeah, without the denial he's assuming he's right. He has to grin a little at that. Cute kid.]

You're kidnapping me huh? You know, you're not supposed to tell the other person you're kidnapping them. You just do it.

...But you know kidnapping is a crime, right?

That's what Spock said too. But he's wrong.

You saw Spock already?

[He has to hold back from laughing at that. He would have done a lot to see how Spock handled a kid this young.]

And why's that?

'cause he's wrong about you and that means he's wrong about everything.

[ But he thinks better of his kidnapping plan, at least for now. He wanders past Jim into the house. ]

[Jim watches as Miles walks past him, grateful Miles was convinced (for now). He's not entirely sure he'd make it to De Chima right now. He shuts the door and turns back into the living room area.]

Spock is usually right about a lot of things. What'd he say that made you think that?

'cause he says you don't want to marry him.

[ With that, Miles flops on the couch like he owns the place. ]

[Some things don't change no matter how old you are apparently.

Jim chokes a bit at that.]

How did that come up in conversation?

Because -

[ Because Miles himself brought it up, obviously, but he has a second, wilder thought. ]

'cause he confessed. That he did want to marry you, but he thought you'd say no.

[He just gives Miles a Look, not even entertaining the thought for a second.]

Miles, that's not something Spock would say.

[Let alone to an 8 year old. He sits heavily on the couch next to Miles.]

Did too. He said it was illogical and everything.

[ All the great Spock quote include that line, right? ]

[Okay he starts laughing at that.]

Nice try.

[ He pouts a little, frowning. ]

You don't believe me?

Spock doesn't talk about stuff like that in general.

You should still propose back just in case. I bet he's thinking it.

We're just good friends, Miles.

... Really? Are you sure?

[A slight hesitation as he thinks back to when he had first woken up here.]

...Pretty sure.

But not totally sure.
