Use that head and stop to think a little
WHO: Agent Texas, Maya, Gregor Vorbarra, and Miles Vorkosigan
WHERE: DC7
WHEN: Sometime during the week, morning
WHAT: Tex wants to show offher daughter Maya at the feudal space lord house. Also sparring.
WARNINGS: Maybe cursing, will add if needed.
[ It's taken some scheduling, but Tex has a small smile hidden beneath her visor as she pulls up to De Chima 7 with Maya riding behind her. Having her along serves several purposes, a second set of hands every so-often while training would help things run more smoothly, Gregor and Miles had expressed interest in obtaining an endorsement for the Dendarii, and... Tex just plain wants Maya to meet the bunch of them. She's been spending enough time with them and their business venture has become more of her full-time job.
She slides off her bike and offers Maya a hand off if she wants it. A final warning about one of the trainees wouldn't hurt at this point either. ] Remember that Miles is the breakable one, but you don't need to go easy on him. He'll get pissed if you do and he has healers he can bring in if it becomes necessary. Just be careful not to cause any unnecessary breaks.
[ More because it wastes time than anything else. She's seen Miles break enough bones by now to get the impression the man is more than used to it and it doesn't phase him anymore. ]

[That's what she's hearing. She's not worried when she trains with Riku or Kaneda or Tex-- she considers herself far too unskilled to do them any damage. They're strong and can take quite a few hits.
Taking Tex's hand mostly because she's a little too short to get off the bike gracefully on her own, Maya watches her balance carefully as not to fall.]
I guess it'll take some getting used to...

I'm just saying don't blame yourself if it happens. If you're worried about it, you can take on Gregor.

Very brittle bones, miss. I'll be careful, but Tex is right. If you're going to blame anyone, blame the bastard who caused the issue in the first place.
[ He gestures the both of them inside. Thoughtfully, Miles and Gregor (but mostly Gregor) have set out refreshments. ]

He remembers Tex's words about Maya being a medium-- he has a rather encyclopedic memory for personal facts like that-- and can't help but be vaguely uncomfortable with the idea, he who has so many uneasy dead behind him. But Tex had reassured him it shouldn't come up spontaneously, so he he leaves the concern in the back of his mind, and steps out of the living room to greet them when Miles opens the door. ]
You can practice on me, [ he offers, in unintentional echo of Tex's words. ] It'll be a novel change for me after having Tex beat me into the dirt every week. [ Easy, self-deprecating humor there. ]

Hey, c'mon, Tex is gentle.
[Maya has been training with Tex for months now.
Tex is not gentle.]
I've never really gone against anyone besides Tex and Riku before, so, I mean. I'm cool with practicing.
[Against any other imports, she means.]

She flashes Maya a small smile and grabs a bottle of water from the small bounty of refreshments. ]
Greg doesn't bite and he doesn't complain if he gets slammed into the ground. [ A small pause as she pops the cap off the water bottle and takes a sip. She jerks a thumb over towards Miles as she says, ] I'll handle him.

[ A pause as he takes his own bottle of water, tucking it under one arm as he heads for the door to their backyard. ]
Unless you don't let me practice at all. Then I might.

Instead: ] No one would be foolish enough to leave you as an idle spectator, don't worry.
[ Gregor takes his own water bottle but is more sedate, taking one for Maya and politely offering it out to her. ]

[She gives the slightest bow of her head in appreciation to Gregor, taking the water and opening it, but not taking a drink until she's done talking.]
I'm on your side this time, Tex can't keep you out of the ring.

[ Her words are teasing. Mostly. Miles hasn't managed to succeed to do that yet, but she wouldn't put it past him to achieve that one of these days. ]
I'll make sure we swap partners since Maya's so eager to keep you tagged in, Miles.
