[ Someone else in Reggie's shoes would probably think twice before getting closer to an ex-secret one night stand's girlfriend -- or would it be ex-girlfriend, now? -- while also having a girlfriend himself, since that sounds like a "lighting a match near fireworks" situation... but Reggie, as always, is overconfident in his own abilities to handle these situations without incident. He's a careful guy, after all, if an angry, paranoid semi-delusional compulsive liar could be described as such.
Regardless, Elsa is good company. Attractive for sure -- too bad he's supposed to be 'faithful' now, probably, and also that he suspects Elsa thinks he's 'too young' or something -- but also just the right amount of hedonistically self-destructive to compliment his own chosen therapeutic repressions. Why stress or dwell on issues and the past when there's fun to be had right now? Or something like that. Spending money is one of many such pleasures, which is what brings the two of them out shopping today.
Will it be weird spending time together during the day without liquor or something else at the ready? Time will tell! ]
