Agito had been acting somewhat suspiciously over the past few weeks but Akito had left him alone, knowing that whatever his other half was up to would be revealed eventually. And with his birthday having come and gone without incident (he and Agito split some pastries and went to the park to play - so, all in all, a good day was had) Akito had no reason to suspect Agito's behaviour had anything to do with it.

Right up until they get back to the school that evening and Agito promptly directs him to the gymnasium.

If he had known there was going to be a party, Akito would have dressed up in something a bit nicer than a pair of coveralls and sneakers.

PRE-PARTY
It's early afternoon and there are a lot of things in need of setting up! While Agito had snuck in last night and set up an area for multiplayer games (some variant of Rock Band being notice amidst the gaming chaos) and rigged the sound system up, there was still the matter of setting up seating, food tables, a pinata, and various other stupid and silly generic 'birthday party' activities.

And whatever else Alison deigned necessary, of course.

Also feel free to deposit any gifts on a small table set aside just for that purpose. If the gift is more practical (like baked goods) it can go on the food table.

PARTY
Sub-Selections

Food Table -- piled with a mix of finger-food appetizers and a good amount Japanese-style cuisine. And a RAMEN BAR! And a There are also a selection of non-alcoholic beverages available ranging from healthier juices to different flavours of soda pop. There is also a delicious looking strawberry cake. :9

Video Games -- rigged up in a corner with some comfortable seating. Genres range from first-person shooters to racing to co-op fantasy to random, entertaining indie games.

Karaoke -- a party isn't a party without people making fools of themselves with a karaoke machine.

Pinata -- people with blindfolds and blunt-force weapons trying to bash something open for candy. Nothing can go wrong here.

Twister -- because why not?

Dancing -- self-explanatory for a party, hopefully!

Wildcard/Etc. -- whatever other starter selection you can come up with! This log is meant to be a free-for-all, so do what you'd like.


POST-PARTY
After everything is over there's still a mess to clean up!

Akito - regardless of how sleepy he may be by the time things wind down - will stick around to help tidy things up. He will also make sure to very sincerely thank every single guest for coming (doubly so if they brought him a gift!) and offer any leftover food items they might like to take with them.

He is definitely quite the opposite of you. But sometimes those relationships can be the strongest. You have someone to balance you out and vice versa.

[ Or sometimes, they can be obnoxiously annoying like in the case of Skye. Raina pushes the thought away. ]

My birthday was October 26th. So it's been quite a few months now since it passed. And I turned 21 for the tenth year in a row.

[ She says it to playfully play up the whole thing about adults not liking to get older. ]

[ he twines his fingers together. ] We are each the other piece of our souls. Forever intertwined... Though sometimes we wish we could separate for a little while.

[ only three people outside of their friends from home know their status as 'twins' isn't exactly truthful, and akito loathes lying. so he tells part-truths and entertains himself with seeing how many hints he can give with metaphors without giving everything away. ]

...Ah, really? You're only a little bit older than my Papa!

[flowerette]

[ She gives Akito a smile. Raina can certainly understand the sentiment. She often feels that way about her boyfriend. Though that cannot even compare to the bond of siblings. Twin siblings.

The smile falters, however, after the comment. She absolutely does not want to think of what Akito just implied. ]

Yes, well. It sounds like your Papa is still pretty young.

[akito]

Because he's our Oniipapa he's automatically considered old. Even when we thought he was our big brother.

[ it takes a moment, but eventually he clues in to the mistake he made - because either Kaito had them when he was 14, or Akito has to admit to weird science surrounding his 'birth'.

...hrm.

he... decides to spare his papa's reputation, out of fear of the off chance he might turn up and find out and that would be a total nightmare. so Akito moves in a bit closer to confide in her: ]


We were born when he was nineteen... So chronologically I'm not really sixteen, but in every other way I am. Me and Agito are what you could call an... experiment prototype, because circumstances around our gestation made us an ideal test subject.

[ Oh. Oh. Raina's surprised by what she hears, but she is also incredibly fascinated. Akito had always seemed like a normal, if shy, teenage boy. She never would have suspected he came from a background of scientific experimentation. She never would have guessed he was a test subject. ]

How do you feel about that?

[ Under normal circumstances, Raina would have dove into the questions and wanted to find out more. But this is Akito's birthday. She can't go ruining it with something that makes him uncomfortable just to sate her own scientific curiosity. ]

[akito]

[ he appears confused by the question. ]

It is what it is. I wouldn't exist if it wasn't for that.

The only really weird thing was finding out our brother was actually our father. Agito was super grossed out by it.

I'm glad you're able to come to terms with such an existence. Some people have fairly adverse reactions when they find out how they've come to be -- if it deviates in any way from a standard birth. I live in a world with all kinds of superheroes and villains, so I've seen many things.

[ She smiles. ]

You really are a shining example of what more people should be like.

[akito]

Ah, well... It seems kind of stupid to be upset over something like that, I think. I would pick a strange birth and the chance to live over just staying as a dead embryo.

[ no... he really isn't. just ask his father +3+ ]

If more people were like me, it wouldn't be a very good place. People should just try and be the best they can be, and then things would be much better.

What? How can you say that? You're so sweet and strong in your convictions. I still admire how you stood up to Kanaya back in December when she was trying to attack your beliefs. And I personally think that's what more people need to be like instead of letting bullies like her walk all over them.

[akito]

It's not something to be admired, really... A better person wouldn't have engaged in an argument. It was a waste of time and just made me upset, ne? A strong person knows when to walk away from those sorts of things.

A strong person will also defend themselves. I know it seemed pointless against her since she is the type of person who seems to always be right and 'if you don't agree, you're the idiot' in her perspective. But I'm proud of you for doing so.

She even picked a fight with me until I simply hung up on her when I realized she couldn't be reasoned with.

[ he's startled by what she says - though most likely not for the reasons she thinks. he doesn't seem to know how to respond, and struggles with finding the right words. ]

Nobody has ever told me that before.

Told you what? That you're strong? Or that they're proud of you?

[ Hell, it could be both. Akito, for as sweet as he is, does seem to have lived a very lonely life. ]

[ sort of both, in a way. it's been said of him before - that he's strong - though many times it was agito who they were thinking of. ]

That they were proud of me, for anything.

[ Raina's expression becomes one of sympathy and she reaches out to envelope Akito in her arms, hugging him gently. ]

That's very sad. But do know that I mean it when I say it. And I'm sure a lot of people here are proud of you for the things you do and choices you make. I'm certain Jacob feels the same way I do when it comes to your strength of will.
