BACKDATED TO 2/26

WHO: Anyone who wants to participate in the hotel assault! Brainwashees still at the hotel also welcome to give folks trouble.
WHERE: Seminar hotel!
WHEN: Evening of 2/26
WHAT: Kitty gets killed to smuggle information out to the resistance; Miles organizes a break-in to get that shit out.
WARNINGS: Some violence! Will edit as needed.

[ Miles has tapped as many people as he thinks is safe - in other words, anyone who wants to come - and has split the party up into two different teams. Distractors, for the louder and more fighty types, who really just want to punch Russians in the face. And the searchers, who'll be solid snaking it up and searching the various toilet tanks in the hotel trying to find the packet of information that Kitty left behind. Punch things! Sneak around! Antics for everyone. ]

[ Charles couldn't move fast enough to help with anything like extraction but so long as he was within a 35 square mile radius he could definitely help with distraction. Perhaps not the fun, blow things up, knock people over the head type of distraction but distraction all the same.

Positioning himself in a spot that was well covered, yet gave him as much vantage point on the hotel as possible, he settled his fingertips against the side of his temple and got to work. It was a little vexing, when he first realized that not every Soviet mind was accessible but no matter, there were enough minds laid vulnerable to his telepathy for Charles to make mischief.

Illusions mostly, if he ran into a group where only one Soviet was vulnerable, he utilized that soldier to cause chaos for the others. Mental projections were equally useful as he tried to cover or at least draw attention away from the imPorts infiltrating the hotel.

And if he could manage all this with as little bloodshed as possible, well ... that was more a personal goal than anything. ]

[If there was one thing Jim Kirk was good at, it was getting attention on himself.

Causing a barrier to materialize out of thin air was enough to surprise a couple of them into being a little too quick to the trigger, stunners bouncing off and hitting their own. Jim made the barrier move to box them in as well as shove them towards each other. It served to protect himself when he came out of a hallway disarming as many Soviets as he could in hand to hand combat.

Both hands had extended fingers, thumbs acting as makeshift triggers in order to channel his energy into stunner fire, taking down the ones that got past his barrier.

He'd do what it took to make sure the others got the time they needed. Kitty sacrificed a lot to get them that information and he'd make damned sure it didn't go to waste.]

[Jim grabs the weapons, assessing the first one for a few seconds before disassembling it and tossing a few parts aside, doing it for each one except the last two he finds.

He's been itching to let loose some energy and this was his element. He hardly feels the mental or physical strain of using multiple powers at once with the adrenaline coursing through him.]

Feels good to be doing something, finally.

[He hands Miles the (now locked) stunner for defense, but gives him a hard look.]

You should be with the other team.

wizzardly: (THE LUGGAGE)

[personal profile] wizzardly 2016-02-29 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[The Luggage has been waiting all week. Since its master's first day at the Seminar (and the box's one-guard luncheon) it has been dutifully attempting to wreak havoc on the hotel. But every time it got too close some thing would manage to magic away across miles and miles, forcing The Luggage and its multitude of feet to go running across the countryside until it was back in range - at which point the process would begin again.

As imagined, this has made The Luggage (which has never learned the meaning of 'failure' or 'forgiveness') very angry.

While it lacks the sentience to regard its situation as the stroke of convenient timing and luck that it is, the murderous box knows at the core of its wood that an opportunity lies before it; an opportunity to cause screaming and destruction, which are two of its very favorite things to cause. So while LACKEY is momentarily occupied, the official distraction team can enjoy a very unofficial new distraction member, whose entire current goal seems to be to chase, devour, or otherwise stomp on whatever Russian-uniformed people get in the way of its barreling, wooden weight. Expect for the next two hours a multitude of confused soldiers, the thunderous patter of short, pink legs, a few smashed walls, and a gaping, terrifying maw.]
wizzardly: (THE LUGGAGE 2 (THE RECKONING))

[personal profile] wizzardly 2016-02-29 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
[there's a sharp, shrill scream, universal in any language, followed by the hollow, wooden 'snap' of the chest's lid. Its feet skid to an abrupt halt on the carpet, and a large tongue, red as mahogany, slithers out and drags across the Luggage's golden keyhole before disappearing back inside. Whatever is inside the box, it hasn't allowed the swallowed guard to make another sound; the hallway is suddenly deathly silent.

There's a long, tense moment as every knot and hinge on the Luggage seem to fix on Miles in an evaluating stare.]

[There really isn't much warning to Yayoi's arrival at all. Did anyone even know she was coming? Does she even know what's happening here?

It probably doesn't matter much, to be honest. What does matter is one moment there's a brightly colored bird diving down out of the sky, and in the next moment it bursts into a cloud of feathers that a teenaged girl crashes out of right onto a Russian soldier.

It's certainly one way to take one of them down.]

[Jacob has shown up in dark clothing, befitting a stealthy hit-and-run mission- especially one tinged with mourning. His face is grave. He may not have been as close to Kitty as many of the others involved in this strike, but he knew her... and he had seen what Lucifer did to her.

Jacob has always had a great respect for those who make sacrifices for the sake of others. He's determined to help ensure Kitty's sacrifice was not in vain. And that means getting that intel out of the hotel.]

[ She's got her armor on for the extra protection and there's no way she's letting Miles go too far before she gets that video she promised Garrus. Yes, there's the greater plan of the assault and the extraction of data, but an extra bit of cash on the side for something she has a feeling Miles is going to do anyway is a nice bonus.

At least she'll be there to yank him back if needed. She already has her helmet's camera rolling to record combat footage as she moves forward, rifle at the ready. ]

Is there a reason you're throwing yourself in the line of fire?

{Where Miles is tonight, Ken is. Usually he's able to simply summon a spear, but he's not about to risk his powers being dampened in the middle of this. Carried over one shoulder and standing almost twice as tall as the boy himself is one long, heavy spear that he'll be using to protect Miles tonight. And his Evoker just in case he decides he needed to break another five dozen bones anyway.

Honestly, Ken would work better being a distraction -- his personality isn't as loud as most, but the Russians know his face and he's good at causing mayhem -- and he's also dying to punch a few Russians as well. But this is also more important, and he stands a little bit off to the side with his attention focused on any guards that might be coming their way.]

You're crazy, Miles-san. You know that? [He sounds almost too enthusiastic for the comment to hold any impact though.]
amadaman: ((p3) 020)

[personal profile] amadaman 2016-03-01 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ken doesn't consider himself much of a teacher -- having learned most of his spear "technique" through demonstrative videos and improvisation, there's no guarantee that any of his forms are proper -- but should Miles bring it up, he wouldn't be entirely against helping him, either. Short stuff like them could always use that extra reach, and he can't help but think so as he briefly eyes Miles' short, beautiful dagger. The only problem would be if the man himself could withstand the impact of hitting things with spears.

That's a worry for next time, he supposed. Right now he laughs briefly at the response.]

I guess you're right. It's the same for me, too. I've also seen even crazier plans. [Like a ragtag army against Russian military posts.]

I'm going to stay near you the whole time. I'll do my best, but I can't protect you from everything. If something looks bad, use me as a shield and run, okay?
