What could be more fun than teaching.
WHO: Perry and Kel
WHERE: Some coffee shop in De Chima
WHEN: Pre-Coup
WHAT: Teaching Kel about the amazing world of today
WARNINGS: Nothing so far!
A little after Perry the Platypus made the offer to help Kel adjust to this world, he received a message asking if he had time to help her understand some things.
Since Perry wasn't one to break a promise, he agreed and offered to meet up with her at a coffee shop near her place so she wouldn't get lost trying to find it. Or have her walk a long distance if she hasn't discovered public transportation yet.
It takes Perry a little while to get there since he lives in Heropa, but soon enough he finds himself at the requested coffee shop. Perry looks around to see if he sees a familiar face, worrying a tiny bit that she did end up getting lost.

But she managed it with the help of her strange GPS and walked in and....Didn't know who she should look for.
There seemed to be a lot of patrons sitting around waiting for someone and-
....
...Was that a duck in a fedora?
And this didn't seem to be raising more than a few hostile or curious stares.
Taking a chance, Kel walked to his table.
"Perry...?"

Sorry, I guess I could have been human for this but I'm more comfortable with this body.

"I wouldn't want to visit that palace of yours." The voice of Fanche came back to her. "Just your animals here are unnatural. What if you return to find the horses have decided not to work for men and the dogs are running the courts of law?"
Well, perhaps not running the courts of law, but they have been recruited to law enforcement, she told the woman silently. And were teaching knights way out of their depth.
Slowly, she put her comm on the table. Already it had proven immensely useful, and she wanted to know how to use it as the people around her did, constantly checking for conversations happening with others miles away. And if this...well. Animal of unknown species had the ability to teach her, it wouldn't be the first lesson she'd learned from someone who walked on four legs.
"It's...quite alright, I guess I could have asked what you looked like in the first place..."

After an awkward pause, Perry writes another note.
Do you feel uncomfortable by this at all?
He would be disappointed if she said "yes", but he figures that not a lot of humans would feel comfortable with being taught things by an animals.

She glances at the oddly colored, oddly dexterous, oddly expressive, oddly shaped something in front of her, writing his side of the conversation down in a notepad, and recalls Jump scratching troop movements in the dirt in front of her.
She smiles lopsidedly at him and shrugs.
"Of everything that has made me uncomfortable in the last two days, this one seems closest to home."

Thank you.
He then spends a couple of minutes writing something else for Kel.
This place is a coffee shop. They're pretty big these days and have a variety of drinks, baked goods, and usually have free wi fi here (wi fi is what you use to connect gain access to the internet.)
Usually drinks are more expensive than what you could get at home so I wouldn't recommend coming here every day unless you can afford it.

It itches at her, her hard earned investments not easily to hand, and the ability to not even buy food off the vendor's carts was worrying.
no subject
I have money. If you like I can buy you something.
He wondered a little if Kel had any groceries at home or if this would be the first time she had any food here.

"I promise I'll repay you the favor sometime."

She glances at the menu blankly, none of the food or drink names giving her any clue what they actually were.
"Tea and something solid perhaps..."

"I seem to be asking a lot of help from you, lately."
no subject
It's no issue. I feel like all new people here need to have the opportunity to settle in anyway.

She takes another sip of tea, and then taps at her comm.
"From what I've gathered, I can search for things that might not be obvious in this city. And I need weapons, can this help?"
no subject
Definately. Not only can you ask people where to go,but you can look up weapon shops.

She finds a search engine and shows it to Perry. "If I type in a question, will it answer?"
