WHO: Kagerou & Mettaton
WHERE: A park in Heropa.
WHEN: After this thread, before the Russians Happened
WHAT: A walk in the park with a killer robot and a giant robot.
WARNINGS: None?
He... may or may not have left his 'assigned' town shortly after the conversation wrapped up. It hardly mattered to the ninjabot what time of day it was. He could wait. He would wait -- it seemed worth it to. After all, what else was someone like him supposed to do with their time?
Not see that 'house' he was assigned, that's for sure. Too many humans. Too many strangers.
Besides, flying took a while. This place really was as big as everyone was saying it was. By the time he touches down in Heropa, it's somewhere close to dawn. And by the time he locates a park, it's morning.
A 17' robot is bound to draw a lot of eyes, whether or not he likes it. All the more reason to slip into a convenient copse of trees, hunkering down. To say he's excited is something of an understatement. Aside from one, he's never met an AI this excited to see him. Or this... friendly toward him. It's comforting. Familiar. And for a while, he's adrift in memory.
... belatedly remembering he probably should send a message to his potential new friend to let him know he's arrived. Oops. So message he does. A short and sweet "Here" followed by simple coordinates.
That's good enough, right?

His device chirruped a cheeky poppy tune at him, drawing his attention away from the news site. Probably Alphys, wanting to check in on him. Or maybe that skeleton wanting to hang out again? Or maybe - gasp! - a secret admirer, spurred on by the recently passed human holiday, "Valentine's Day!"
He looked at the message, puzzled. Co-ordinates? What? He checked the name, some kind of ID, to see if this would end up being a bad time if he went there. Needless to say, it seemed the shy giant robot had decided to come visit! Well, this made his day wayyyyy more interesting than it had been.
Of course, he wouldn't leave his residence without being absolutely fabulous - so he fixed his hair, metal-safe makeup, polished his gorgeous, long, shapely legs, and headed out. He unfortunately didn't have as much as he wanted in the way of outfits at the current time, so he went without - it was best to not look like he was taking this all too seriously.
"Goodness, aren't you a big boy!"
His tinny, synthetic voice sounded on the verge of laughter. He'd had no idea Kagerou was a literal giant robot! Perhaps Alphys' anime wasn't too inaccurate about the human world. Mettaton stood at a towering 7', but that was barely up to the top of the robot's leg. Hmm, maybe he could ask for a "Mettaton XL" improvement? Just for fun! A show, maybe. He could shoot laser beams out of his chest or something flashy like that.

And...
This shiny, lovely robot was speaking to him. Sounding happy to see him. His head jerked up, green optic widening a fraction in surprise. Sure, they'd spoken before, but that was over the network. This was in person. It was something else altogether.
He straightened up a bit, sitting forward on his knees, legs folded under him. "I'm sorry," he said, immediately. An instant, instinctive reaction. "Did you want me in another form?"

Mettaton held his arms up, stance wide, as if gesturing to show an audience how big and impressive this robot was; as if trying to embrace the existence of a giant robot. He's always practically sparkling - it's the good looks, charisma and star power that do it, naturally - but his eyes glow an extra bright pink in delight.
"Ooo, I have a friend! The one that built me? She'll appreciate this very much. I'm going to take a photo with you, sweetheart. Help me up so I can sit on your shoulder?"
Mettaton does have long, extendable, metal noodle-like arms that he can use to grasp and try to climb, but it was silly to try - especially in his pink, high-heeled boots. He marched right up to Kagerou, waiting to be scooped up.

The word came out mystified. Like it was the first time he'd ever heard it before. Honestly, before meeting this robot, he'd never been called a lot of things, but that was beside the point. And he shifts his weight where he sits, his face feeling oddly warm.
So what if he couldn't blush? He could feel like he was.
"Ah... all right."
Something about the other's confidence made his own blossom a little more -- going from nonexistent to slightly present. He reached down carefully, until he could rest his hand flat against the ground. He didn't quite smile, but from the way his mouth twitched, he tried.
"She's here? Your friend?"
no subject
"That's right! Dr. Alphys built me, and she's such a sweetheart. I'm going to send her a pic of us! She'll love it, and might want to meet you, too! Don't worry, she's all shy like you are."
Well, that was kind of something to worry about, given they may never actually be able to hold a conversation. Kagerou seemed like the strong, reserved, silent type while Alphys was a vibrating trash can of anxiety and sweat. He sat down all pretty, legs swept up beside him, and patted the hand.
"Up, up!"
no subject
And it came out completely serious, too. He really didn't understand why anyone would be excited to meet him. To know him. It boggled his mind. He was only a prototype, he wasn't anything fancy. Something to be excited about.
His hand held perfectly still while the other bot stepped up onto it. He didn't even blink as Mettaton seated himself. Though he did make a quiet, apologetic little sound when he failed to lift his hand quickly enough. He was quick to rectify it though, obligingly lifting his new companion up to one broad shoulder.
"Is that all right?"
no subject
"Smile when I tell you!"
He fiddled around, trying to take a photo on his fancy imPort device. It worked like any smartphone, but he wanted to make SURE this would be UnderGram ready, with nice filters and lighting! He'd add the sparkle stickers before he sent it.
"Oh, okay, smile for the camera, darling!"
He leaned into Kagerou's face and smooched the robot's metal cheek as he clicked to take a photo.

"I'll try."
He was looking, though, as his new friend touched buttons and got himself ready. It was a little mystifying, to be honest. Even if he knew exactly what was going on, he probably wouldn't completely understand it.
But he did try. His face flickering in an uncertain smile...
Up until that smooch happened.
Then he sort of... Blue-Screened. Because why was this happening. What was happening.

"Absolutely gorgeous. I've sent this to my friend! If someone named Alphys contacts you, you MUST try to meet up sometime! Speaking of, are you from Heropa, or did you travel?"
He cheerfully chattered on, finally closing his phone after his message had been successfully sent.

Why was he staring at Mettaton like the other bot suddenly went from pretty glamour-robot to calculator-shaped? Because he'd like to stop. It wasn't accomplishing anything.
"You..."
Oh, wait. A question. Right. He could answer a question. Right?
"I flew. Here."
Words, Kagerou. Use your words.

He leaned back to admire the big, clunky robot "wings." One of his combat designs had something similar, only much nicer and elegant. He wasn't even sure how Kagerou could fly with those, but he seemed to get here just fine.
no subject
"Yes... I can see why."
If this bot did that to everyone, anyway.
He shrugged a bit. Wing panes rustling with soft scrapes of metallic sounds. "The Falls town," he said, a bit distractedly. "The name is hard to say. And read. I'm sorry."
no subject
He'd crossed his legs and was bouncing one sharp-heeled foot to a rhythm in his head.
no subject
Since he really didn't have anything else to do with his time besides sit and mope. Which he'd been doing a lot of.
The bouncing didn't bother him. His plating was thick enough not to mind. But something else catches his attention.
"Something big?"

He trails off, though, for a new topic. Because it's easier to talk about other people.
"They say we aren't allowed to do that. To travel. Are you going to try anyway?"
no subject
He laughs, like the suggestion he'd bother hanging around some dangerous area is worthwhile. He's not built for battle, and he'd like to see his bandmates again someday.

Says the robot who just now met this guy. But hey, he can't help it. He's reminded too strongly of Shadowmaru to not care.
no subject
He gently pats the robot's head, in a slightly condescending sort of way. Unintentionally, of course!
no subject
Whoops. Sorry. He doesn't mind the patting, though. It reminds him of how you'd pat a dog. And that seems like something that's perfectly normal to him.

Because someone like him shouldn't say those things to someone like this. It's not right.
But he'll nod. Hastily. And move to stand, all at the same time.
"Yes. All right, yes."
