STRANGE, WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE STARTED THIS GIG?

WHO: All diplomatic imPorts that have signed up HERE.
WHERE: The capitals of Mexico, South Korea, and France. UN-attending imPorts will be placed in Davos, Switzerland.
WHEN: January 26th.
WHAT: Democracy in motion as imPorts attempt to use their skills of persuasion to convince each government or organization to lend the imPorts - and America - their help. Players may also use this log to play out the long flight over, planning, and other associated activities.
WARNINGS: None anticipated; let us know if we should change this!

Depending on their assignment, all imPort diplomats will find themselves either in Seoul, South Korea; Mexico City, Mexico; Paris, France; or for UN attending imPorts, Davos in the Swiss Alps. They will be housed in the American Embassies and regardless of their Registration status, will be treated as American citizens. UN-attending imPorts will be housed in a hotel close by. Their accommodations will be that of an extremely luxurious hotel, and they will be provided with anything that they should require, be it books on the art of rhetoric, access to state of the art computers and laptops, food or drink. They will also be provided with boardrooms in which the teams may convene to assemble a strategy. Don't be distracted by the free drinks; this is a task that will require clear minds!

After one night of preparation, on January 26th, each team of imPorts will meet with either the government of their assigned nation or the UN. They will be placed at a podium in front of a room full of politicians and diplomats, and will be expected to state their argument. They will be allowed to have an opening speech before each assembly asks each group three questions.

When either the opening speech has been concluded OR the question has been answered to each player's satisfaction, please put QUESTION NEEDED in the subject title of your comment, and we will deliver the next question.

Just remember: an invasion is coming! Even if acquiring the alliance of these governments and organizations do not help with the imPorts' immediate predicament, it will impact the future of the game at large!

Get ready, our silver-tongued imPorts, and good luck!

Tracking it across the timeline is what making it difficult, aside from Stark industries, the smaller projects tend to be not as lauded.

Maybe not, but that's our job, isn't it? Dig up the ones that aren't getting much recognition, and sell them to the natives.

Anyway, that's why I figured they'd asked us along -- we're the ones with the fingers on the beats of our cities.

I know Starr's company -- Karen Starr? She's generally doing some pretty great things. As is the Future Foundation. They even helped design the security measures for swear ins, to make sure attacks like Crane didn't happen again.

[ Francis doesn't answer that, though it makes him wonder about the government's exact reasons. It's not particularly relevant to go into them now but he doesn't trust them or at least that he knows them. ]

I don't doubt we'll be asked about him.
viced: (The old familiar sting)

Yeah.

[ His face didn't so much fall as it hardened. Mitch didn't often use the word hate -- there were only a select few people who'd been given that distinction. Not even Suzanne, or Pherson -- or Kremlin, who'd threatened his own career in politics...

But, god help him, he hated the goddamn Scarecrow.
]

We have to account for the worst of us, if we want people to trust the best of us. It's a hell of a thing to deal with, huh?

[ Francis watches his reaction with a detachment, bordering on fascination. He hadn't really taken Crane's attack personally himself. ] It'd be easier if the government had given us a nice dungeon to throw him into.

Maybe if we petition them, they'll put him in Guantanamo Bay.

[ Or as people often said, the Vice-President was liberal when it came to social issues, but just wait and see how conservative he could be. ]
mightthinkthat: Francis just receiving the news that he's not going to get the promotion he asked for. (...oh)

[ Francis doesn't quite have the context to get the reference. ]

That's a military prison, isn't it?

Something like that, yes.

For threats to National Security. I daresay Crane qualifies.

Right, of course. [ He agrees. ]
