It's a fine day in Heropa, isn't it? The new year has come and so far nothing horrible has happened....

well, it's time to break that streak right off the bat. Something is going down in Heropa and causing some mayhem that only imPorts can stop! Oh no! Action must be taken against this threat! Clearly upstanding heroes will take flight and restore order. However you hear about it, from the locals, being there yourself or through the network news of this will travel.

Good, because that's exactly what it was supposed to do.

Because when the first problem settles....a new one begins.

I'd hate to think my hands were glowing for some other reason.

[She turned away from the forest then, but kept her hood pulled down. The parts of her face that could be seen would seem...sallower than they had been when she had first arrived. She was smiling thinly though, almost a smirk, that was evident.]

Although I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about all this.

[Undead, as well. He hasn't had any good experiences with undead on his world, but he'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps undead on her world are tolerable.]

No, you wouldn't be. [She could say the same thing about lizardmen he would say about the undead, but she was polite enough not to.]

I am Anastasya. Were you in the city when the spell was cast?

[She almost asked if how he looked was a side effect of the magic, but he didn't exactly hold himself like someone who was just horrifically transformed.]

On the outskirts. I barely got out of city limits in time, with everyone else here. The mist moved quickly.

I would imagine. You're fortunate, then. I don't know what that boy wanted, but I doubt anyone is going to be enjoying it.

[Now that enough time had passed she reached up and tugged her hood back down, turning to look at the forest once more. Hey, she looked alive again! Go her.]

I suppose people will have to go in there and try to stop him.

Yes, people will try to stop him. I'm one of them. I tend to stay out of hero nonsense, but this is different.

[This time, people he actually likes and cares about are involved, and all his stuff is in there.]

'Hero nonsense.' [She smiled as she repeated it. It sounded like something she'd agree with, most of the time. But then, she was often helping people anyway...she just didn't like the term itself.]

Considering most of the city is gone, won't everyone want to help? And the government too, I should think. Assuming they can...

[Kang snorts. They're out of earshot of any natives, so he feels safe enough saying how he really feels.]

I'll be surprised if the government steps in when they can just have their imPorts do the work for them. I don't think there's much they could do anyways.

Given the lack of natural magic here, they'd be over their heads fairly quickly. [She's not going to admit she'd be too, honestly.]

Of course, this is assuming any of us can even enter the forest, what with this bar-

[She had reached up to press her hand against what had repelled her before, but...it passed through as if it weren't there, which surprised her enough that she actually stumbled a step.]

That's interesting.

[He watches carefully, relieved to see that she isn't pulled in, and puts his own hand against the barrier to test it. At first, there is resistance, but then it goes right through as well.]

An invitation, or just a coincidence?

[She doesn't answer at first, just studying the forest.]

We didn't have a long conversation, but he didn't strike me as someone who would invite unwelcomed guests.

So my guess is coincidence. Or oversight.

Whatever it is, it means we can get to him and put a stop to this.

[He only wishes there were more permanent ways of dealing with troublesome imPorts. It's annoying when people don't stay dead.]
