[She FORGOT ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND hold on she is gonna pick that bowl up and slurp down the last of those noodles before they get cold or soggy. This does not prevent her from talking.]

That doesn't count! I meant when you've been right and I've been wrong!

I'm fine--! I'm fine...

[His hand goes out to reassure her, casting a smile on his face to let her know it was okay. It'd just gone down wrong was all, and with a little clearing of his throat, he seems to be at least back together.

Good.

Because now he has to process that whole thing again.]

What do you mean you 'didn't mean to say it'. She's either in jail or she isn't.

[rassera]

[His expression lightens when she scrambles back for it, a hand casting over his face to cover his nose and eyes, peeking out between the fingers.]

You didn't say that!

[But fine. He'll play your game.]

Hover vespas. Not as good as ones with wheels.

Sure, he wants to say. Go on, go get more revenge that Tetsuo can't. Go join the army that Tetsuo wasn't part of to take down the guy Tetsuo should.

But really, what's the point? So instead, the only motion is his body shifting a little with the mattress, hiding his reactions with the mattress and not speaking up at all. Whatever.]

I didn't... Mean to tell you she's in jail.

[She starts to play with her hair, shrugging helplessly.]

Some... Bad stuff happened, okay? [she doesn't want to talk about it.]

[At the creak of the front door, Tetsuo freezes, eyes locked onto the entranceway. The mug pauses, halfway raised to his lips.

That relaxation moment is instantly gone.

He does nothing. There's no movement, no greeting, nothing at all to hail or hinder the kid. Ken may not notice him at all, and that's fine. But Tetsuo definitely notices him, even ignoring the game once the level's loaded, only letting himself down more tea if he's caught watching. Any excuse to give him something else to pretend he was busy doing.]

Tetsuo. Okay.

I'm Sissel.

[After a short pause, so he can stop sniffing at Tetsuo and pulls back and sits down on the bed, he starts talking again.]

Would it make you feel better if I was in my human form? Then we wouldn't have to talk like this, we could use words instead.

[iamtetsuo]

< Human form? Which are you, a cat or a person? >

Both? I can change back and forth.

But I was a cat first, if it matters.

[How does life keep being more and more weird? Come to think of it, the cat mentioned human form before, but he was too busy focusing on the 'but...cat' aspect to catch it before.]

[ Rick concedes. Fighting against magic -- fighting against Pan's magic? It would have been impossible. ]

[ Rick had loyalty to his people. And that loyalty would have him fight to the death for them. He can't blame Tetsuo for not reaching out to him. He only had time for one person and that person had to be Kaneda. Tetsuo's family. But he can still manage to blame himself for not being there. ]

[Once she's done with that bowl, she puts it back on the floor, shoving it slightly under the bed as to avoid either of them accidentally tripping on it. Then she turns to face him again, eyes bright, hair bouncing on her shoulders.]

Of course you're gonna be right about motorcycles and vespas and stuff! That's totally out of my league, it's a technicality.

[rassera]

[Hey, Semi-finals is Semi-finals.]

'First Contact'? So...

[The gears in his head spin, working that out.]

You only get one shot?

[resipiscent]

Yeah. You get hit and you're done.

[Riku looks down, flexes the fingers of his left hand. The scar along his wrist moves with the muscle.]

If I was smart I wouldn't have participated in something like that until after I was a little more healed. Spears are rough.

[amadaman]

I'm sure that even if you bent over backwards and turned yourself inside out, you couldn't keep up with him.

[he shakes his head]

But he'll probably be happy knowing he's always got you beside him. Even if he doesn't realize he feels that way.

[amadaman]

That makes sense. It's probably for the better if it's more peaceful that way.

Did you two grow up together? You seem to know each other very well.

[amadaman]

[Ken's pause is longer as he's hit with that question. His mind races. What kind of coffee? There are multiple kinds of coffee?]

Just... coffee, [he answers eventually, quite lamely, the exact image of someone ordering something he isn't quite enthusiastic about. Because he isn't.] Just on its own?

[amadaman]

[In the moment, it'll be easier on them both for Ken not to notice. If they could steer clear of each other, not have run-ins, there would be no friction. Easier, even if it led to stagnation beyond fixing.

But fate seems to have other ideas. The window is opened up, and a breeze is let in, forcing them to turn their attention to what lies beyond their closed-off worlds. To each other. Ken looks up, sensing Tetsuo's presence -- he, too, is another person with relatively strong mental focus thanks to his Persona -- and while he still says nothing, their eyes definitely meet.]

[amadaman]

Well, it's an impressive ability, but... [he looks around the feather covered living room] Maybe better if you can control it. Do you live here?

[amadaman]

[Ken won't be able to improvise, but he's able to keep going with what Kaneda started, which is what he does.]

It's not hard, [he responds,] but it's not really something I'd do on my own.

[cantread]

Really? But Komasan lives here, doesn't he? Or are you saying you don't listen to him?
