[He shrugs too, with a wince, before pushing himself back up into a standing position.]

[Tetsuo's watching his every movement pretty closely, but he doesn't move. For all his distrust, poison doesn't occur to him as something people do; for all his experience out on the streets, in some ways he's still fairly naive. Food ought to be fine, right?

Plus.. wanting and getting to eat food regularly is pretty great.]

[It's good to see him eat, really. For the past six months, at best when he was home, he tended to rearrange everything in his bowl or on his plate, poking at it more than eating it. To see him eat was not only a relief, but the eagerness was...what it should be for a teenage boy.

Tetsuo was just a fraction more normal.

So he slumps against the wall, waiting for the verdict...

She looks a little uncomfortable then, swallowing and leaning the mug around to look at Ken's handiwork.]

[Kaneda's being weird. Tetsuo's expression grows a bit more suspicious, and he looks down to the bowl. Something's definitely weird.]

[It's better than just 'good'. But what is happening.]

['It's good' on Tetsuo's terms right now is pretty much the equivalent of THE BEST, so...don't mind him as his heart leaps into his throat.

[Tetsuo's just turning to Saccholin, flicking on his portable game console and resuming, when something loudly thumps into the plastic with a jarring noise. He yelps in surprise, jumping almost off the bed and manages to fall in a graceless heap of blanket and curses on the floor.

What the hell was that?!

People and things have come to his window before. Nothing's done THAT.]

[Kaneda doesn't notice at first, too busy scarfing down those noodles like they're going out of style. With the rationed food in the jungle, as well as Pan burning a ton of energy out of him, he had to refuel at some point, and Riku's the first one to actually deliver on it.


So when he looks up at that question, he notices Riku's body language, a brow arching in question.]

[Noodles always seem like the best choice, to Riku, for times like these, when you're completely beat. Actually, by rights, noodles are good at all times, but especially now. He nods, leaving his chopsticks there for a moment so he can open his drink. There's one for Kaneda too, but it's still in the bag.]

That's true. Though I'm sure sleeping for a whole 24 hours didn't hurt either, right?

[That's what Riku did, anyway. It was really weird and disorienting.]

[Kaneda's arms slump to the side, the tennis racket falling to the floor as his head rolls back.]

[Sure, he'd noticed this when he teased her over the comm, but for the longest time he thought she was just being difficult. That it was a way to shield herself from his teasing. He'd poked buttons where they were unguarded, and they riled her up.

But now he's starting to see that...like Tetsuo, she's hiding a lot more than just a few things to rile up. He doesn't know what they are, or why they feel justified but...]
