With the door closed, shades drawn, the world shrinks.
WHO: Andrew Warner and YOU!
WHERE: Everywhere, Heropa, The Red Branch, anywhere!
WHEN: 24th-26th November Daytime and Night time
WHAT: Drew trying to prove Everything Is Okay one lunar cycle after he killed Toby
WARNINGS: Language, Mentions of Murder, potential references to sex depending on who he chats to.
24th - Day - Heropa
[He knew the cycle was coming and more importantly than anything this lunar cycle was about proving things to himself. It was time to get the hell out of his apartment and start living his life again. He'd left it a grand total of one time since he killed Toby and that was to meet with the vampire himself. Everyone else he'd avoided, he hadn't even tried to reach out to anyone despite the fact he knew there were so many people there who wanted to help.
He needed to start anew though and what better way to do that than by using the full moon itself as an example. To prove once more that he was tame. That his beast had escaped just one time and it didn't really mean anything on the grander scale of things. So he took a shower and got ready before getting the hell out of his apartment.
It felt like a cleansing process as he headed to the park Grey had shown him a couple of moons ago. He knew that if he went there he would be calm, peaceful even. Coupled with the decent weather out there and it would change things, blow some of the cobwebs from his mind. So he got a take out coffee and went to sit on a bench, ignoring the fact that he felt nervous, knowing fine well that at any moment someone could run along and scream abuse at him for being a murderer.]
25th - Day/Evening - The Red Branch - Bartending
[What better way to prove that you're a functioning non-violent Werewolf was there than going to work. Drew actually showed up at the place with his tail between his legs, fully intent on begging for forgiveness if Cu was around. After all, he'd disappeared from here too.
He was going to prove he could do better though, by being a hard worker for once. He wasn't even stoned. He was taking all of the emotions that came with the full moon in his steed. Coping with each of them individually even while the wolf snarled in his head. He was doing great though, keeping it subdued.
He'd even chat with customers, keeping them happy, using them as distractions to keep himself happy. He was almost proud of how these things were rolling out. As the day went on his grip on himself and reality solidified and he was slowly feeling like his regular self.]
26th - Morning - Heropa
[He'd spent the night as a wolf but kept to the unpopulated areas. He ran from the city limits, using the Wolf's speed to stay away from others. Any time he even caught someone else's scent he was gone in seconds. It wasn't that he was afraid what he might do, more that he didn't want to cause any fear by openly showing off his wolf form.
By the time rises he feels spent, the tandem energy yet weariness he'd managed to build up by remaining isolated in his apartment had slipped away over the last twenty-four hours. He felt renewed, he felt whole again. Even his bond was Toby was no longer raging a war in his head.
It was almost a surprise that he found himself smiling when he got back to the edge of town, or at least his tongue was lolling out the side of his mouth when he finally found the area he'd stashed a back pack so that he could transform and get changed again.
Now that he was decidedly human looking again, the still smiling man decided to head into the city proper and find a café to enjoy breakfast in.]

25th -- The Red Branch
I'll take a glass of Sangria.
[ There was a brief pause before she added playfully: ]
And how much for the cute bartender to come with it?
no subject
Sangria, ey? Now damn that ain't somethin' I get asked for a lot 'round here.
[He chuckles at the question though.] That all depends, darlin', how much you got?
no subject
[ Says Raina playfully as she watches his hands deftly at work. ]
Oh, honey -- name your price. I'm sure whatever it is, I could certainly match it.
[ It's a promise as much as a tease. But when he finishes garnishing her drink, she extends her hand. ]
I'm Raina, by the way.
no subject
Well damn, if I wasn't considering gettin' into the prostitution gig before this I might be right now. [A smirk.
He reaches over for her hand, clasping it in his own supernaturally warm one before pressing a kiss to her knuckles.] Andrew Warner, but y'can call me Drew.
no subject
How charming you are, Drew. I would say you'd probably make a fortune if you were to take up that new career. Your smile alone can cause just about anyone to melt.
[ She says it with a lilt in her tone and a playful wink. ]
And I'm certain it's something you hear quite a bit, isn't it?
no subject
Meltin' people ain't my thing. Its messy an' I'm kinda workin' so cleanin' up the mess ain't gonna help things much. [Finally he pours the two sangrias, sliding hers over before taking a drink of his own with a sigh of contentment.]
An' I hear it as much as the next hot barman does. Maybe just a little more than.
no subject
Well, I suppose you wouldn't want to make more work for yourself than necessary.
[ She raises the glass and then takes a sip. ]
You're an imPort, aren't you? [ Her eyes flick to his wrist, trying to read the status of his tattoo. ]
I believe I've seen you around some events before. Yours is not the type of face one forgets.
no subject
[His own sip becomes more of a glug, because he wasn't really worried about getting drunk. He nods swiftly though.]
Sure as hell am. Y'don't get guys like me among the natives, believe me... I've looked for the competition. An' y'have? An' there I was thinkin' I was some kinda antisocial dude these days.
no subject
[ Oh, she's well aware of his werewolf stint -- of the fact that he killed someone. She has seen him before on the network, and that is what makes him fascinating. But she plays ignorant for now. ]
But I imagine you would be quite popular otherwise. You're charming, have a great sense of humor, and an appreciation for a good drink. Why waste time being antisocial?

I believe it's more rare to find someone who hasn't murdered anyone among the imPort population. But color me even more intrigued than before. You must have one hell of a story to share. So why not share?
[ She lifts her glass with a sensual smile, raising it toward him before taking another sip. ]
no subject
Well, I never figured myself much of one before, a murderer that is... [There's a bit of sadness in his eyes when he talks.] Killed a guy I thought I liked, too. It went really downhill real fast. The first thing y'gotta know is I'm a werewolf. An' this whole thing? This was the one time the wolf got outta control an' the human took a back seat.
no subject
It's very brave of you. To be here after all of that happened to you. It sounds tragic. And I'm sorry you lost control and that you killed your companion. Was he an imPort?
no subject
no subject
The fortunate nature of this world is the impermanence of death. You may have killed him, but unless fate decided it was his time to go, he would return to this world.
no subject
[He grins, shaking off the moment.] Least I still got my looks.
no subject
[ She sounds as though she's contemplating it. But really, how disappointing. Regardless, she smiles in her flirtatious way. ]
You certainly do know how to make yourself interesting. What was it that kept you calm back in your world? Was it simply the people, or your pack I should probably say, or was there something else?
no subject
My pack, drugs, the same things that keep most people calm. Ain't always hard to achieve but I guess sometimes it really is.
no subject
[ She tilts her head, glancing down at her glass. ]
Hypothetically speaking, of course.
[ She wouldn't dare suggest he just go out and turn a bunch of people into werewolves. Nuh uh. Not sweet and innocent Raina. ]
no subject
no subject
[ She rests her chin on her palm, smiling. ]
What was your boyfriend like? I enjoy a good romance story now and then.
no subject
We broke up like... four months later? [Because wow it was a great idea until it actually happened.]
no subject
[ She looks momentarily apologetic, but since he's laughing he's either mostly over it or trying to mask his feelings. ]
But doesn't that make things complicated? Pack dynamics and all. Whether you wanted to be or not, you were still stuck with him.

[ Not that it matters to Raina either way since she totally has a boyfriend. But the flirtation trick doesn't tend to work too good on someone who's solely into men. ]

That's a shame. You're missing out on some finely crafted beauties. I've personally never believed in limiting myself. I appreciate men and women equally. And the right kind of woman can most certainly fulfill your very specific desires.
[ With regards to ass appreciation. ]
Have you been in a relationship with any of the imPorts here?
no subject
Well, limitin' is kinda what I do. What was it my pops used to say "Drew, for most kids the sky is the limit, but y'might have to go ahead an' settle for a picture of it." [He wasn't the brightest nor most ambitious of kids.]
Oh yeah, I mean... relationships not exactly but I've had my fair share of imPort fun.
no subject
You've never thought of doing something more? I mean, when it comes to life in general. Not simply sex. If you limit yourself, you miss out on so many opportunities. I hope your father was only teasing you when he said that.

[ It's interesting -- finding out what leads people down their choices and life paths. Was it a bad relationship with his parents that led Andrew to decide to become a werewolf on a whim with a boyfriend he only broke up with a few months later? Or is it just a part of Andrew's nature. ]
no subject

But you don't go to see them. [ Is what she's gathering. ] Why? Do they discriminate against you because of your...preferences? Do they know about the werewolf thing?
no subject
no subject
[ She reaches out, laying her hand atop his lightly and giving it a reassuring squeeze before it retreats back to her drink. ]
But you mentioned visiting your sisters. Are they different in their views? How old are they?
no subject
[Because that was a lot happier an idea than the rest of his family thinking he was the monster under the bed used to terrify kids.] The girls? They must be what... [And he's counting on his hands here, back from the last time he saw them.] Eight and eleven? [They were th elast ones, quite late along. Drew himself was born when his mother was very young.]
no subject
[ Raina shakes her head in sympathy. ]
It must be so difficult to have to live that lie -- to have your family disappointed in you for something you didn't even do.
no subject

[ Her eyes are on him curiously. Raina wonders how much of his carefree attitude is an act. ]

[ Is she speaking from experience? She's totally speaking from experience. But either way, she finishes off her drink and fishes in her purse to take out some money, enough to cover her drink plus give him a sizable tip. ]
I need to get going, but I hope we get the chance to speak again.
