[OPEN]
WHO: Albert & OPEN
WHERE: Maurtia Falls Gluten Tag Bakery
WHEN: All of November
WHAT: A day in the life of a cyborg assistant baker
WARNINGS: n/a
His job at the bakery wasn't going so great, and it was only through the grace of the government that Albert suspected he was keeping it at all.
The head baker had regulated him to cashier duty weeks ago. Metal hands covered by only a thin layer of synthetic skin did not make for the greatest dough kneading ability, but he did try. Instead, he now mostly took orders in the front, because he was at least friendly enough for that.
While the thought of looking for a new job had crossed his mind, Albert ultimately couldn't decide on a direction and figured one job was as enjoyable as the next. Although it would be nice to make enough to buy all the parts he might need.
Oh well. Albert turned a smile on the next customer in line.
"Would you like a free muffin with your order today?"

near closing time, Nov. 2
It was getting a little late but some shops had yet to close their doors. He picked up some candles from a convenience store and he already had a lighter, but their bread selection was abysmal. He wanted something real even if it wasn't going to be the correct kind of bread. At the very least it could be a delicious loaf instead of overly processed and factory sliced.
The bakery he headed into seemed like it was just about to shut down, but he still had a few minutes left to browse. There may not be Day of the Dead bread here but if he could get a good loaf of rye or sour dough... Dazed, Joaquin moved to the counter, not really sure what he should get. What would Manolo's spirit like the most?

"No, that's fine," she replied when he asked about the muffin. "The order's not for me. I can't really eat any of this."
