[ Pros of kinda-sorta dating (or whatever. whatever! whatever.) a guy who works all kinds of crazy hours: there's a good chance that he's going to be walking in the door at midnight, which is coincidentally the best time for breakfast, especially when you're someone who sometimes has trouble sleeping. Which is why on this particular night Sarah is hanging out in the kitchen of Nonah 002, dishing out eggs and pancakes shaped like mutated animals (not punk at all, but it's a habit she got into when cooking for Kira and now she's kind of attached to the weirdly shaped pancakes) onto plates. She hasn't bothered making coffee, because another George pro: he makes his own.

She can't help but be kind of embarrassed when he walks in the door, because this is the kind of domestic crap that she can't help judging herself for, but… it's food. They're both up. They need to eat, yeah? Yeah. So she just clears her throat and shrugs, resisting the urge to tap her fingers nervously against the countertop. ]

Hey. Uh, I made breakfast.

[He sets down his bag, and immediately breaks out into a grin upon seeing Sarah and the ridiculous pancakes. He loves them, and he really really likes her, and this is the perfect end to a hard thirty-six hours at the hospital.]

Have I mentioned how much I'm really glad you're back?

[coppelganger]

You could stand to mention it again.

[ She goes to meet him at the kitchen doorway and gives him a kiss, tugging him closer by the collar of his shirt. ]

Good day today?

[puppydoctor]

[He slides his hands down to her waist, and when the kiss ends he just smiles against her cheek.]

Yeah, it wasn't too bad. I scrubbed in on a heart transplant.

[coppelganger]

Jesus.

[ His work stories are much more cool than hers. The most exciting thing that happened to her today was probably a drunk guy throwing up in her cab. ]

How'd it go?

[puppydoctor]

It was a pretty smooth surgery, but we won't know for sure how his body takes it for a few days. He was a pretty sick kid.

[George gives her another kiss, this time on the cheek, and then goes over to the cupboard to grab a couple of mugs.]

[coppelganger]

[ Oh. It was a kid. That takes the wind out of her sails a tiny bit, and she goes to lean against the counter while he grabs the mugs. Thinking of kids in the hospital just makes her think of Kira, but she's not bringing that up again, not after the way he reacted last time. ]

I hope you're hungry, 'cause I made way too much for one person. Guess I could slide some plates under your roommates' doors if it came to that, though.

[puppydoctor]

I'm always hungry for animal pancakes.

[He fills up the mugs, and passes her one. A nice hot, bold cup - he's in a good mood.]

How was your day?

[coppelganger]

My day was good. Well. It was alright.

[ Driving a cab isn't the career choice to get super excited about. She takes the coffee and sips, then moves to the kitchen table where she sets the mug down next to her plate. ]

I've been thinking about something, actually.

[puppydoctor]

[He follows, taking the seat next to hers.]

Yeah?

[coppelganger]

Yeah. There's this complex on the edge of the government housing area. Two-bedroom flats.

[ She's not completely sold on the idea, but it does seem like it would fit her needs better than sharing a house with a bunch of strangers. ]

[puppydoctor]

Oh, you're gonna get your own place?

[It doesn't click at first. He feels disappointment at the idea of her moving out, even if she had never truly moved in to begin with, but he tries to cover it up.]

[coppelganger]

Maybe.

[ She's not even thinking about how it means she'll be moving out of #002, because in her mind, it would be just as easy for him to faux-move into her new place. That's how she rolls. Making things official just isn't her style. ]

They've got a pool, too.

[puppydoctor]

A pool?

[He raises his eyebrows appreciatively.]

Okay, I might visit, now and then.

[coppelganger]

Right. For the pool. I get it. I see how it is.

[puppydoctor]

And of course for this cool, really hot girl who'll be there.

[coppelganger]

There you go.

[ She spears a section of monkey-pancake-face with her fork, opting to add this part while she's not looking at George in the eye. ]

You could always bring some stuff over if you ever wanna crash there.

[puppydoctor]

[Even if she's not looking at him, he's smiling right at her.]

I could probably stand to crash now and then.

[coppelganger]

Yeah? Cool.

[ Awesome. Great. Time to eat more pancakes. ]

[puppydoctor]

[He dismembers a delicious monkey, and gives an appreciative hum. Then, because he's curious - ]

Has your sister tried to give you any trouble?

[coppelganger]

She invited me to dinner a few nights ago, actually. She cooked. Something traditional.

[ And food to Helena is a huge deal, so that was definitely a sestra olive branch. ]

[puppydoctor]

Wow, that's great!

[From how she was acting when Helena first showed up, any communication sounds like an olive branch.]

I'm glad it's working out.

[coppelganger]

So far.

[ Considering Sarah shot her in the chest last time Helena saw her. ]

You'll let me know if you run into her, yeah?

[puppydoctor]

Yeah, I can do that. Does she look pretty much like you?

[coppelganger]

Yeah. Well, we're identical. She's got awful hair, though.

[ Seriously awful hair. ]

Sarah, I'm a guy. That doesn't mean much to me.
