WHAT: Quickie log for Hamada family hijinks & Halloween cuteness
WARNINGS: NOTHING BUT ADORABLE IN HERE

[ It's Halloween! The café is open this evening and the delicious smells of pumpkin spice everything waft out through the front door whenever someone walks in. Today, however, if you wander in you'll be greeted by at least one of the Hamadas. Probably the smallest one, who's wearing the world's laziest Halloween costume - a pair of black cat ears nearly invisible against his messy mop of hair. (He had a tail at some point, but it's somewhere behind the counter now.)

Hiro's got the basket with normal candy, though Cass has made adorable cookies that will surely find their way into the hands of any visitor before they can escape. ]

Y'know, it's kind of nice to be working on Halloween.

[ Mostly because Hiro has spent all afternoon grazing liberally from the candy bowl. He has the remains of a sucker in his mouth now, the stick bobbing up and down as he talks.

[Yep there's his brother. He takes a minute to process that while he tends someone's order.]

[ He leans over to one of the trick-or-treaters to pass out candy. And makes a face when on of them is taller than him. Ugh. ]

Whatever, nerd, I remember it.

[Oh but he sees that.]

Maybe for Christmas you should ask for some tall shoes.

[ Well fine, he'll pout at Tadashi too then. ]

Shut up. I am getting taller.

I know you are, don't worry.

[He does reach over to flick at his forehead.]

Give it time, little brother.

[ He heaves the most annoyed sigh and waves at Tadashi's hand. ]

It's too slow. When did you get tall?

[tadeadshi]

When I was about seventeen.

[microbrobotics]

[ He looks horrified at that. ]

What? That long? I thought you were taller before that!

[tadeadshi]

It felt I was taller to you because I was taller than you already.

But I didn't break five foot six until I was turning seventeen.

Aww man ... For real ...

Yep. For real.

[microbrobotics]

Maybe I'll be taller than you in the end. Out of revenge.

[tadeadshi]

Hah! Maybe, you never know! Genetics are weird.

You already said I looked like Dad. And he was tall, right? So maybe I got that too.

Yeah... Maybe.

Still have a ways to go before that though.

I know, I know. But we've got time here, right? All the time we want.

[That definitely gets a hair ruffle (careful of the cat ears)]

[ He makes a bit of a face, at always. ]

[He handles checking out someone else's ticket while he thinks over that.]
