General Opening

He's possibly in the most foul mood he's been since arriving here. Which is saying something. While Hisoka can be a treachery, he's usually on the happy side. Being in a foul mood is rare for him, but in this case, not without good reason. He's just not used to dealing with emotional distress, the extent of what he is used to is usually just sour disappointment. But even that fixes itself quickly. This? This is different. And instead of being able to change it or help it out of his system, he knows he's to blame for it at all.

How annoying.

But instead of dwell on things he certainly doesn't want to, he'd rather fill his time, and he has a few ways in mind already. Some promises, and a new job that he's actually a little excited for, even with how rather mundane it would be. But it'd be a good way to keep occupied, if nothing else. And that wasn't all, he knew he had some people to call should he really wish to.

A - Heropa - Night Moves

Ah, dark, but then it's pretty late and a cloudy night. There's really no light to speak of with what of the moon is there, if it's there, covered by the clouds in the dark sky. Same with the stars. So all there really is are street lights and the occasional car. But it's not too busy either. Late night, the sort of time that holds a silence to it, even with the few cars still out. The people out on the street, it's hard to say why they're there, why you're there. Maybe you or they- maybe you got caught up at work, maybe you fell asleep at a friends for too long. Maybe you just wanted to be outside for a bit and your walk lasted longer than expected.

But you're there, and it's dark.

Not a lot further to walk, but you know you can cut through some alleys, and really they're not too dark with the street lights on either side. So you wait till you find one where no one's around because you're not an idiot- or maybe you just take the next one.

The alley's a lot darker once you step into it. And as you walk, you hear... more footsteps. A second set? Behind you- you know you do. But as soon as you're sure you hear them, they're suddenly gone. You can't hear them anymore, but you're sure they were there.

What do you do?

B - Heropa - Lucky Cat Café [Weekday mornings, except Friday]

Well, he took the job because this place is owned by Cass. That and he wanted to fill up some more of his time. He figured he could just quit if it really proved to not be amusing enough, but he didn't think the novelty would fade that quickly. So he might as well try? And if the novelty did start to fade well surely he could make his own fun for a while too.

But some days into the job and he's not as sure. First of all, the t-shirt he has to wear as part of the uniform is not his thing... It's a bit tight in the shoulders and chest and over all is just boring. At least with his suits he could be a bit more playful. And he's sure not going to wear that baseball cap, and doesn't, keeping his hair a bright pink but usually not slicking it back for this job. Well, the shirt's more comfortable compared to the suits for the casino- at least there's that.

Still it's definitely something to see Hisoka in such a place, well working there anyway. He usually keeps to the register but sometimes walks out to bring food and drinks to customers when they're dining in. Depending on if you know him or not, this might be quite the service, or really, it's just weird enough to see it in general without anything in particular happening.

So either you see him at the register, or you've sat down and are waiting for your food or drink to be brought to you. It'll be Hisoka there, and it's hard to say what mischief he might spark up depending on who you are, or the impression you give. But hey, it IS kind of nice to be served in a cafe by a pretty nice looking guy, right? At least there's that, and he's really not afraid to flirt either.

B2 - Heropa - Lucky Cat Café [Weekday mornings, except Friday]

Or maybe- you're 'lucky' enough to catch him on his break. But he won't be doing much aside from sitting at one of the tables with something sweet to eat infront of him. Hisoka's always been known to like company though. Why not join him? As someone he knows or not.

Or ignore him and walk past-

Well, try to walk past. For some reason, your foot sticks to the ground right as you try to walk past his table.

There's an awkward pause and Hisoka slowly turns to look up to you with a slightly confused look on his face. Of course it's a lie, he's the reason you're stuck there at all! But he's pretending like he hasn't a clue.

"Did you need something?" A smile, setting his chin on a hand. "Or are you trying to say hello?"

C - Maurtia Falls - Drink up

Well, you did have a drink. You came to this bar not long ago and are pretty sure you only got a couple sips in, not the whole glass. So where is it? Some looking around and you'll notice whatever you were drinking is being picked up by someone else now. A man with bright pink hair in a white and light blue suit.

He smiles to you, picking up and tipping the glass back despite it definitely not being his own. How rude. Just get your own drink, jackoff.

"Hm?" A thoughtful look over to you. He'll lick his lips, tilting his head a little, and offer a small smile.

"What? Is there a reason you're sitting way over there?" Come to think of it- even if that drink DOES look like yours, how did it get all the way over there to this guy? Wouldn't you have seen him get up and come over and take it?

Wildcard - Make your own

If none of the above prompts appeal to you but you'd like to play out something with Hisoka, feel free to just make something up and post it in here! I'll follow along no problem. Hisoka's pretty active and everywhere so it's likely he'll get into all sorts of situations.

If you want to play something with me and aren't sure about what though, just message Hisoka's journal and I'd love to work out something with you.

No, it definitely was not a hard find, and Kangmo was never a directionally challenged boy. And to top it off Kangmo spent a lot of his time bored and wandering around the various cities. Being a Heropa resident meant he spent more time in this city than anywhere else, and while he hadn't explored every inch of it yet, he'd managed to hit up most of the major areas.

This was definitely near a major area, and even if Kangmo was just wandering around aimlessly trying to find the right person? Well... the outfit really was a dead giveaway.

And yes, a good reason to question his decision to agree to these lessons too.

Then again Kangmo had spent some time stalking a girl that ate dead bodies just to curb his boredom for awhile, so the boy was willing to go to some pretty stupid lengths to kill that bored even fleetingly.

That didn't mean he wasn't approaching Hisoka now with a little trepidation, he absolutely did, but he still approached him despite the getup.

"You really know how to make yourself stand out."

Even if Kangmo wasn't entirely appreciative of Hisoka's sense of style, he could at least appreciate that goal in life. Maybe (definitely) he'd go about curing his boredom in a different way most of the time, but that didn't mean he couldn't appreciate someone having the same goal as him.

But not being much of a fighter (or a character in a shonen manga) his life was a little different anyway.

Just a little.

The card tricks were something he might be able to do, though even a one handed shuffle would take him some time to learn without spilling cards everywhere. It was a very promising start to this particular teaching session.

"I can tell. I don't know you well, but you already seem like the type that could wear anything."

Was that a compliment or a backhanded insult? ... Possibly both.

Anything involving powers was going to be well out of Kangmo's abilities. At least, anything that Hisoka could teach him. Honestly, with what he was given on arrival as a power set he didn't really need to learn card tricks at all. He has the ability to make people think they were seeing any card he wanted them to see at any time.

But messing around with people's minds felt too obtrusive and uncomfortable for him for the most part, especially for something like a card trick. Besides, if his problem was boredom then the whole point here was to kill some time learning something more than the actual card tricks themselves.

Who knew, maybe once he got home, after things had gone back to normal (or at least settled down and school started up again), he might actually remember these tricks and be able to impress some people.

Or maybe not, and this was only something that would serve him here. He was fine with it either way.

Still watching Hisoka's hands carefully Kangmo sat down.

"Not really. I own a pack of cards, but that's about as far as it goes."

Even if this meeting doesn't go past one, at least Kangmo learned a card trick out of it, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. Besides, when you're attempting to waste as much time as possible in order to keep the day from feeling overly monotonous, the only time that your time is truly wasted is when whatever you were doing to kill it managed to be so boring it dragged it out further.

It's kind of sad that a boy that tests water slides for a living is so bored with his life, but you'd be surprised how fast sliding down plastic shoots can get tiring when you do it often enough.

New is good to shake things up, and this is new enough for him. At least dealing with someone like Hisoka's new if nothing else.

"I played poker once..."

He trails off as he watches Hisoka's hands carefully with brows furrowed, trying to spot the slight of hands and missing it completely.

He's good, or else that entire deck is made up of the same card.

Kangmo sits up a bit straighter now.

"I was ten at the time, and I lost all of the snacks I put into the pot."

A truly thrilling story. Is Hisoka fascinated yet?

If Hisoka ends up finding it a loss that's his problem as far as Kangmo sees it. He's here for his own entertainment too, not so much to be the entertainment for someone else.

Though he did promise to tell the story of that one time his crazy prison school became a prison in a more literal sense.

He's got to wonder if Hisoka forgot about it, and he can just skip telling it. He'll gloss over details regarding his own parts in the story no matter what even if it does get brought up.

Still, maybe interesting enough to kill a few minutes, though almost mundane compared to what a lot of people here go through on a near regular basis.

He can worry about it later, he can concentrate on the very serious conversation at hand. His lost snacks from... eight years ago already? Does he even remember the kind of snacks they were? Not really, but he'll still sigh in an exaggerated way, like just the memory is a real drag.

"I doubt the scars are ever going to go away from that. As for the type, I don't really remember. I didn't even know there were types until just now."

And another moment where his voice trails off as he watches the trick again. That was definitely a five of diamonds this time, so not a deck full of the same card after all.

"How are you pulling that off?"

What an exciting way to have someone think of you! As a plaything! Then again, it'd be pretty far from the first time. Kangmo's actually spent a lot of time being tossed around by people whenever they need some entertainment, sometimes even literally!

As long as Hisoka manages to avoid that part of it then Kangmo could probably deal with learning any slightly dehumanizing thoughts about him.

At the moment he'll just be shaking his head at the last question.

"It was very traumatic."

He pauses before giving up trying to figure it out on his own.

"You're faster than I'm noticing, or I'm not looking for the right thing."

That line of thinking sounds far too much like a justification someone Kangmo strongly dislikes would use, so it's hard for him to really say that's really what relationships are all about. Besides, he's felt affection for people that he didn't want to be entertained by. He wanted them to be happy without necessarily even being involved in their lives.

That doesn't mean those feelings are selfless, mind, just not tied directly in with a need to be entertained.

Hisoka though? Hisoka he wants to know to be entertained, so if he finds out that's the only reason he's here for this guy? No skin off his nose, he'll deal with this fact.

He's dealing with the puzzle less well though. He honestly doesn't know a thing about card tricks, so he couldn't begin to tell Hisoka how he's doing what he's doing and frowns.

"It's the most obvious answer, isn't it?"
