The Hotel de Palais
WHO: Lourdes Hidalgo and her hostages (sign-ups still open!)
WHERE: Heropa, FL
WHEN: starting on 9/18 and going on all week
WHAT: Enforced 24/7 hotel sleepover party
WARNINGS: Body control
The Hotel de Palais sits on the outskirts of downtown Heropa - close enough to the city center to be within walking distance of all the best restaurants and clubs, but isolated enough to afford its guests a sense of privacy (and the twenty-foot solid walls surrounding the outdoor pool and garden area definitely help with that). It's a favorite for vacationers and locals alike, and it's usually bustling with activity.
But on Friday morning, it's eerily quiet. The front doors are closed and locked, with multiple guards posted to deter visitors. If anyone should look like they're going to approach, one of the guards will quickly walk out to them and explain that the hotel isn't open right now. No one comes out. Barely anyone goes in. Even at the end of the day, when workers should be finishing with their shifts and guests should be heading out to sample the nightlife, no one leaves.
Inside, things are far more active, especially as more and more people begin to realize what's going on. Lourdes makes rounds throughout the hotel grounds, and she makes no secret of the fact that she is in charge now, and she expects to be obeyed. A couple people are amused (Come on, it's just some stupid imPort kid having a little fun; at least she's not attacking or gassing anybody), but most are confused, afraid, and angry. But if anyone protests too loudly or looks like they're going to make too much of a fuss, they suddenly quiet down - their mouths seal shut, or they leave the room, or they suddenly drop into a deep sleep. The most argumentative of the bunch disappear entirely, and can't be found anywhere.
In her own twisted way, Lourdes seems to be genuinely trying to make sure all the guests have fun. Many of those who are checked into the basic, less expensive rooms get spontaneously upgraded to one of the empty luxury suites. She passes out minibar keys freely, and announces a new policy of free room service for everyone. The pools (both indoor and outdoor) and the in-house nightclub have their hours adjusted so that they're open twenty-four hours a day. This wins over a few more (but certainly not all or most) of the guests, though the staff are left scrambling to take care of all the extra work. Lourdes herself doesn't lift a finger to help, though she does join in on the festivities. She keeps a close eye on her hostages, and if any of them aren't partaking in any of what she's providing them, she encourages them - with a little force.
Every once in a while, Lourdes hangs out by the front entrance with the guards, watching people walk by the hotel. Occasionally, she picks someone at random and makes them walk in. She thinks of it like a lottery, and the people she brings in off the street are the winners.
[OOC: This is the hostage log for Lourdes's hotel takeover event, meant to take place before any rescuers arrive! Feel free to top-level and tag around; I'll be throwing Lourdes at people as well as playing random NPCs (both hotel staff and other guests). If you're interested in throwing your character into this, there's still plenty of hostage spots left!]

[Her fingers drum restlessly on the piano top.]
And you're one of the only ones I've seen complain.

All right. [ It's no use fighting this now, she'll toss him off the building or something. No, he's obviously going to fight this LATER. ] Back to drinking and dancing and piano then, I suppose?
