When the Sun Hits
WHO: Mewtwo and YOU
WHERE: Around DeChima & anytown, USA for the rest
WHEN: the month of September
WHAT: Catchall month for Mewtwo, Mewtwo engaging with his various odd attempts at getting a 'hobby'.
WARNINGS: Psychic 'shenanigans'.
[Summer was fading like an old bruise, along with the bad times of that month. Mewtwo had lingering resentments and emotions but like always his method of dealing was to not deal. Call it 'moving on', but that wouldn't be accurate.
Whatever the case, Mewtwo had gone out of his shell to do other tasks. He had tasks he left unattended he had been meaning to catch up on. Tasks while seeming trivial to others seemed greatly important to him.
He had been busy taking out several library books with minimal human contact. On several roofs of DeChima he would coax a bird or two to take a perch on him as his busily flipped through his bird guide to identify it. Even on the roof of his own supposed house he took a break to go bird watching.
In the areas by the woods and less populated suburbs he could be seen sitting at at a little park bench as he levitates a little book called 'Games and Strategies', perusing it with light interest. However in all these populated areas he kept his human facade: a bald young man. He never wished for any human to see his true face.
However, deeper in the woods of DeChima is where his true freedom could be found. He glides quietly through the trees. To anyone who would dare go out there he would seem such a peculiar sight, a pink humanoid being floating quietly with no means of air locomotion.
Other cities may get a glimpse of this illusive creature as well: highways, edges of town, suburbs. Always skirting the edge of where people would be. He found it easier to look for birds there. But even he would have to make a stop, putting discretely going through his bird guide as he did.
Even here where there were no Pokemon or scientists it felt so confining having to hide himself all the time. But at least out here he has some semblance of freedom, even if the risk of being caught in this form was there.]

[ She looks out over the skyline pensively a few moments, nursing her flask. Then, seeming to remember herself, she sits up straighter and offers him her hand. ]
I'm Kanaya, by the way.
no subject
Oh right this thing. He reaches to...hand pat.
< Mewtwo. >]

Well, uncommon things are really just a matter of course for arriving in a place like this.
[ The name, though, is vaguely familiar, she's sure she's seen it somewhere before. On the network perhaps? ]
Oh. You aren't a bird.
no subject
< I'm thinking not. >
Of course he's not so attuned to the subtleties of that conversation. Give him a minute to jog his memory.
< ...no I'm not? >]

< Yes...I know you. I didn't know what I expected when I met you, but this wasn't it. >
To the point he was,]

< You're right. But then I suppose this disguise isn't totally necessary since you're not totally human. >]
no subject
[ How did she not suspect that? She knows that Lachesis likes to hide the non-humans like that sometimes, she's been no less affected by it herself. It's only after years that she's really gotten the hang of her form enough that it doesn't default to some mammalian lie. ]
Could I see it, then? The proper you?
no subject
< It's only fair. It would show that I am not truly a bird after all. >
Plus she's alien herself, something more repeatable. He goes quiet, his body shimmering into a hazy mist before revealing himself as a pink humanoid with cat-like ears, small shoulders and torso tapering into a long pink tail and inhuman legs.
< This is what I truly am. >]
no subject
Well, no. I guess...you're a bit more of a cat.
[ She stands more upright, a little impressed to see that he's actually much taller than she is. That doesn't happen often. ]
I'm glad to properly meet you, Mewtwo. Is your kind common where you're from? Or is it mostly birds.
