I'm not runnin'

WHO: Participants in Operation Archangel
WHERE: Maurtia Falls
WHEN: Mingling posts will be throughout July; Battle posts will be August 5th
WHAT: Archangel is back on its feet, preparing its members, and striking back where it counts.
WARNINGS: Violence, drug mentions and other such unpleasantness.

Open Prompts -- Month of July

Meet n' Greet
Things are a little different in the ranks of Archangel these days, starting with the most noticeable change: cells. Each cell has their own base, and no cell knows the base of another. Certainly makes things seem a little bit smaller, doesn't it? Of course, that means that, like it or not, you've got people in your team you need to get to know and prepare to trust with your life. Do you think you'll all get along like peas in a pod? Or like cats and dogs? Only way to find out is to strike up a conversation and see where it goes. On the upside, you get to try on your new uniform while you're there.

Training
You've come a long way from your beginning days as an operative -- but that doesn't mean your work is finished. Whether you're a seasoned war veteran or a scrub just getting your feet wet, you still have a lot to learn both about the enemies you'll face and working seamlessly with your new team. Your commanding officer will be on hand to help you every step of the way, and ol' Cap will be making the rounds to check on your progress... and maybe go a round in the ring with you, if you're looking for a sparring partner. Want to get to know your fellow cells? Not a problem; after everyone's gotten a good skill set they've put to the test, the cells will have the chance to intermingle and go head to head.

Investigation
Sure, all this punching and fight clubbing might be the cat's pajamas, but there's work to be done, isn't there? If you're the type to like a bit of digging around in the dirt, you'd better believe you'll have some work ready for you. Want to get some slanderous info about the local "hero" cops? Or maybe discover some weaknesses in the defenses of the cartels they've made deals with? If you can think of it, it probably needs to be done. Grab one of your teammates for a romp, or bump into another cell's operative and team up to cover more ground.

Battle Prompts -- August 5th

Party Poopers: Heiji, Sabriel, Clark, Jo, Hawke, Nysrog, Batgirl, and any member of the Knights of the Red Branch
Who doesn't like a good party? You, apparently. Way to harsh everybody's groove, pal. There's a lot to be done here, from sneaking in to securing the exits, straight on through to throwing caution to the wind and setting off an explosive or two before running into the chaos and rounding up the scattering cops like wayward sheep. Of course, these sheep are armed -- and they have sharks. Yes, dear friend, once things get wild and crazy some dastardly member of the police will let slip the proverbial hounds of war, and you'll have a few land sharks nipping at your heels while you make as many casualty-free arrests as you can and try to avoid ending up as a special feature on the Discovery Channel.

Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dick: Kaidan, Glitch, and Kanaya
Getting the drop on a pair of baddies sure seemed like a good idea, didn't it? Too bad that "getting the drop" ended up as less of an easy arrest and more of a boy-they-sure-do-look-ticked-off sort of scenario. Captain Dee and Captain Randall didn't come to check their product without being prepared for potential difficulties, and they're apparently armed to the teeth -- and we're not talking guns. Are you ready to rumble? Because the exit is blocked so you'd best prepare yourself, compadre.

The Big Kahuna: Kasumi, Shepard, and Motoko
So, here you are: Ready to take on the Big Kahuna himself. Chief Tanner sure doesn't look like the worst thing you've ever seen, does he? Of course, it's a little hard to say that when he leads you on a bit of a chase to some heavy duty equipment he'd been having a look at. Great Gatsby, is that a goddamned mech? Seems like you might have your work cut out for you, after all. There's a hell of a lot of guns on that thing, so you'd best be ready to use the 5 D's: dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge.

Wildcard
Alright, so maybe you're doing a little Archangel work that doesn't quite fit the bill you were looking for. That's okay, bub; you do you, in all your majestic glory. Just don't get your ass caught or Captain America will give you such a talking to. Just know, he's not mad -- he's just disappointed.

[ Unlike Chief Tanner, who makes a point of not attending a single event held by the the department, Captain James Dee is a little sour on missing the night's festivities -- at least to enjoy an opportunity for drinks on somebody else for a change. Still, there's work to be done and he and Dick are the ones to handle it. James might be happy with the perks of his current position (being in with the real local power has a damn fine benefits package) but he's sure as hell planning some advancement in his future, and this is the best way to do it.

As Dick is shown the contents of one crate, James leans himself up against a wall with arms crossed and mouth set in a fine line. ]

C'mon man, hurry it up. We've got 6 other crates to look over.

[ Captain Dick Randall, who also has his own plans of upward mobility, takes a great deal more personal offense at being kept out of an event. He likes his parties, he likes his down time, and he likes not having somebody telling him to hurry the fuck up when he's already doing that. A nasty little glance is offered over his shoulder before he returns his attentions to the contents of the crate before him. ]

Tell me somethin' I don't know, ya jackass.

[ His fingers graze over the vials before him, and he lifts one to examine it through the light while an agent stands beside it, his eyes on the overhangs above them. Guards are strategically placed along the upper levels of the warehouse, watching the every move of the people down below. Getting into this won't be easy -- and getting out will be even worse. ]

[ Getting in was going to be hard. While Kaidan normally would follow someone else's lead, this time he was probably the one in charge, considering the two he was with, which meant that a few low words, explaining hand signals was about all they were going to get. One for hold, one for slow, and one for go. He expected at least someone to follow along, and he crept beneath outside crates and ledges, trying to bypass the guards on the upper level, kept to the shadows -- and even though he wasn't wearing his usual armor, he was at least in the Archangel clothing provided, mask pulled up around his face, to keep them from figuring out who he was.

Considering his position with the military, it was going to need to be kept pretty low-key. He held up a hand, to indicate to stop, before he used the sights to look over the places the guards were in, and he tipped his head, his voice a low whisper.
]

Can anyone take care of that one? [ He asked, pointing to the closest, practically right above them. ] And that one? [ The next. The furthest out, Kaidan could get no problem. ]

[ Kanaya never bothers with the provided uniforms, she still thinks she could have done better with them if they'd consulted her. But her appearance far too distinct for a mask like that to hide, so there's little point in it. She came dressed as Echidna, as she always has for Archangel operations. Of course, she'll keep her lights off until there's any point to them.

As they move in, she traces her threads, mapping out where everyone is, watching their movements as she considers how to dispatch them. Most of her ideas are much more visible than what Kaidan seems to have planned.

She looks up when he points, estimating how far they are from the other guards, what she can get away with, before whispering a terse response.
] On it.

[ She backs away, giving herself room to work, then pulls a collection of glowing threads from the air, a series of portals following them. She drops through one below her feet, appearing on the upper floor just long enough to grab one guard and cover his mouth as they both disappear into another, each of the portals closing before the second guard realizes his buddy's missing.

After a moment, another portal opens next to Kaidan, and she nonchalantly steps through, empty-handed aside from the guard's rifle. Who knows where he went, but a dip in the canal seems likely.

[ Kaidan hardly has to say a word before Glitch just is gone from beside the taller man. He's done enough recon with Kasumi to at least get the handle of vanishing from sight without powers. With the second guard distracted, looking around for his missing companion, Glitch just springs up behind them. Arms go around the man's throat, hand slapping tightly around their mouth and Glitch shocks them into unconsciousness.

The man slumps and Glitch plants his feet on the ground to support the now dead weight and drag them into an open metal crate. Added bonus though, Glitch puts the lid back on (gently) sealing them in. Looking to the others, he signals them. They're good to go. ]
