Lets make some magic
WHO: Peter Pan
dreamshades and Tetsuo Shima
iamtetsuo
WHERE: Nonah Forest
WHEN:Tuesday evening
WHAT: Peter is teaching Tetsuo how to handle his powers.
WARNINGS: PG? Just a lesson but Tetsuo's involved so who know.
[ Peter has set something of a schedule for Tetsuo and their lessons. He would teach the boy only at night and when Peter decided. The offer was open and he would never tell Tetsuo he had to attend. Possibly just slipping it in that if he didn't want to be a master it was his loss.
Their training ground is a clearing in the forest. Wards placed around it to keep all who Peter did not wish to come out and make it unseen. While the starlight helped to illuminate some of the inky black around them, Peter has provided the place with a bon fire of his making. It burns brightly, helping to chase away the last vestiges of darkness.
It's there Peter waits, leaning against a tree, thumbing at his pipes for Tetsuo to show up. ]

So, he waves a hand over one another, a bag of ice and a bar of chocolate appearing in it and he offers it to Tetsuo. ]
Take a breather and contemplate on it. The smallest, happiest thing can be powerful amongst a sea of rage.
All I want is for you to be the best you can be.
no subject
Kindness, clearly, isn't something that's been offered in Tetsuo's life often.
He huffs a sigh, sitting hard down on a rock, and sets down the ice only long enough to open the candy.]
Why?
no subject
Because I care. Despite what you may think, I only want what will help you feel happy.
no subject
[Because people you just met usually don't say stuff like this. And because he's bitter and angry, and the only target around to snipe at is Peter.]
no subject
That is the real reason. It's what I did in Neverland. I found people like you and helped give them what they wanted.
no subject
'People like me', huh? Gonna define that?
no subject
[ cough cough Kaneda. ]
no subject
[But now he's genuinely curious as well as suspicious. A little less guarded, maybe. You don't get to lump him into a group and not tell him what group that is, so he's going to find out. It's probably not a good thing - Peter wouldn't be elusive if it was, would he?
But he's not just insulting him outright. When it's pretty clear he could. So what's that implication, hm?]
no subject
[ He takes a bit of a pause, a small breath as if he's been beaten down. ]
I use to help boys who were in a situation like mine-
who were abandoned by those who were suppose to love them. Friends, family, all of it. Who didn't understand them at all just because they were special.
no subject
Tetsuo seems like he wants to say something, stops, looks away.]
no subject
He sighs, pinching at the bridge of his noses, rubbing his eyes. ]
I'm sorry, perhaps I should've not said anything. I didn't mean to offend.
no subject
It's Kaneda. This asshole the government says I gotta live with.
no subject
[ He sounds surprised, but, he's not. Peter spoke with him over the network and at least knew the pair lived together. ]
And you're just going to let them tell you what to do?
no subject
Doesn't seem to stop him from trying to ruin my life, though.
[For all his blaming them, he sure seems mostly pinning the 'gotta stay there' thing on Kaneda, not the government.]
no subject
[ He stands back up taking a few steps away from Tetsuo. ]
Still, this Kaneda. If I were you I'd just excise him from my life if he's that much of a problem.
no subject
[Tetsuo's eyes track him, but he doesn't follow.]
no subject
no subject
[Kaneda would find him. He always finds him. It's like the guy's got some sixth sense on where he is at all times somehow. Tetsuo gets back up, setting the ice pack back down.]
You wanted to know, now you know.
no subject
[ Still, he has to make sure Kaneda doesn't interfere with what they're doing and undoes the seeds he's planting in Tetsuo's head. He wants this to bear fruit after all and it does not do well if the crows rip out the seeds before they sprout.
Peter stands back up and nods a bit. ]
Yes, are you ready to have another go at it?
no subject
He hadn't bothered with finesse before today. Oh, he'd done it: he'd caught things, opened doors, dragged things to his hand -- but that had all been unintentional, like an instinct. Trying to catch and hone that ... whatever it was (he'd begun to think of it almost like some phantom limb) was a whole new sort of strain lodged deep in his brain somewhere.
Destruction was a lot easier.
The jars lifted up again, slower this time, and only a couple broke. Tetsuo frowned, trying to figure out how to ...
Right. Happy thought bullshit. It's not the first stupid thing that this kid's told him, but the last one worked. He can't prove it wrong by not trying it. But he's not sure what'll be worse - if it doesn't do anything, or if it really does.
Even as he's concentrating, another jar breaks, and Tetsuo drops the rest back on the ground with a frustrated sound. It's only taken an elapsed time of a second or two, but it feels like it's been an eternity. He's really tempted to walk over there and kick the damn jar over himself, but that'd be admitting defeat.]
no subject
Tetsuo almost made it and then he cracked a few of them and they broke. Peter walks over, quick to attempt to reign in some of that anger boiling over on Tetsuo. A clap on the shoulder as he steps towards the jars. ]
Better. You at least managed to leave the rest in tact. You're not getting the hang on the happy thought on the other hand. [ It shows. ]
Tell me, Tetsuo. What does make you happy?
no subject
Racing, I guess. Winning. Machines... Well, bikes, mostly.
[Shrug.]
no subject
[ A click of his fingers and this just appears out of thin air.
Peter might have stolen someone's motorcycle and gave it a bit of a palette and licence change. ]
no subject
...
[Holy shit what.]
no subject
...Would you like it?
[ Come on, Tetsuo. He knows you do. ]
no subject
You're... giving me... this?
no subject
[ The price of such a thing though? Well, it's already been paid for. Some poor sap no longer has a bike. And for Tetsuo? It just means more lessons. Everyone wins. ]
no subject
Holy shit. He didn't expect to get hold of a bike like this, ever. A haul this good usually went to Yamagata, or Kuwata, or Kaneda... never him.
And the longer he sits on it, the wider his grin gets as that realization sets in. Who knew, his face is actually capable of genuinely smiling.]
no subject
Now use that feeling you have and try one more time. We can conclude there for the night and you can have that all to yourself.
no subject
He stares at the jars again. The bike's a distraction in the back of his mind, but he's supposed to allow for that - focus on that feeling.
Maybe it's the practice, or the fact he's not distracting himself by being angry about things; Kaneda's the last thing on his mind now. Or maybe it's the happy thought. Without that incident looming in the background, it's.. easier, somehow, to not instantly want to crush anything his psychokinetic hold grabs. It's both a faint feeling and an overwhelmingly strong one just out of reach, some itch crawling around his head...
But this time, this time he's able to relax his hold enough that the jars don't implode. They lift up, and agonizingly - that itch chases around and around in his skull - turn in place. THEN fall back to the ground.
He's panting with effort, sweat beading on his forehead, head pounding and that itch just vaguely scratching below his eyes even now. But he did it.]
no subject
Subtle, finesse, all of it right there. He steps over towards Tetsuo, his hands still clapping before he ceases. A pat on the back is what the boy gets before Peter gestures to it. ]
Much better, I knew you could do it.
[ Tetsuo does look like he's in pain however and is if by out of nowhere Peter pulls out a bottle of what appear to be pills. ]
I believe this is a remedy they use in this world for headaches. Take it. We'll work more on it not straining you as much. For tonight, go home, take a ride on the town.
no subject
He's totally got this.
And...
Tetsuo's eyes stray back to the bike again.]
Same time tomorrow, or you got plans?
no subject
Same time tomorrow. Get some rest. We'll have much to go through.
