JOSUKE AND ANNIE GO TO A CONCERT!
WHO: Josuke Higashikata and Annie Leonhart
WHERE: Maurtia Falls; Concert Hall
WHEN: Saturday, June 20
WHAT: Josuke's got two tickets to see a band he's never heard of before and he's bringing Annie along for the ride!
WARNINGS: TBA!
[What do you do when you win free tickets to see a band that calls themselves Parachute Substitute and is a part of the alternative industrial rock scene that's not exactly your main music scene?
You go see them play anyway, that's what you do! After inviting along someone you're pretty sure hasn't ever been to a concert before, that is. And in this case that person happens to be Annie Leonhart.
That the band's playing late at night in Maurtia Falls doesn't appear to bother Josuke. His pops knows where he is (Josuke's spending the weekend at Joseph's place) and Annie'll be along shortly to meet him outside the venue, a place that's more than a little urban looking and rough on the exterior, with its graffiti'd walls and all the groupies hanging about, but security looks tight. Things should go...smoothly? And if they don't, he honestly doesn't even care. He and Annie are more than equipped to handle themselves, especially in each other's company. And besides, right now, Josuke's main concern is staying preoccupied and doing things that'll keep him from thinking too heavily about all the other stuff that'd weigh him down if he'd let it.
And he's not letting it!
Which is why he's contemplating what kind of merch he'll be spending his money on when Annie finally does approach, and why he doesn't notice her until she's practically in his face!]
Hey! We're a bit early, but that's good. We can grab something to eat or drink if you want?

[He's not a delinquent, honestly! Well, he's not a delinquent most of the time. Not in the unsavory sense of the word, at least. Its application where Josuke is concerned is minimal at best, and often dependent on whether or not he's being forced to take action, besides.]
I kind of...accidentally stole something. It's a long story, but the short version's that there was a problem in the change room and a door opened and without thinking about what I had with me I got out of the store really fast. I went back later to explain what happened and pay for things, but you know how places like that work. They couldn't just take my word for it, so they called up my old man. Instead of pressing charges, though, I was banned from the mall for a bit.
[He shrugs. It was all worth it, though. He'd had a lot of fun with Hazel that day. They'd gotten some clothes, jewelry, and henna tattoos...]
Feels like forever ago.
[Once they're inside, Josuke steers them toward the concession stands. As expected, the interior of the building is much nicer than the outward face it presents the city with. The floors are clean, the ceilings are high, and the lighting is strong with not one bulb dimmed or blown. The walls are all decorated with posters of other bands that have played there, including those who got their start in Maurtia Falls before making it big. For Josuke, it's everything he'd expect to see. People gathering around each other in groups, others taking to merch lines to purchase things before they run out or the shops all close up (as they're liable to do before the last act of the show) and security wandering around...]
I don't think I ever asked, but what kind of music did you have back home?

Though there's a touch of amusement in knowing that at some points in her stay here, she too would have been calling a Joestar for assistance. Not Joseph - he's a useful ass, but an ass - but Jonathan, the naive and idealistic one.
Who asked for advice on the network. (Poor fool.)
She eyes the people, the height of the room, catches some names on the posters, a collection of images and faces that mean nothing to her. She feels tension creeping back in. Annie makes herself breathe through it.
He's asked her a question. She frowns, then shakes her head. It's clearing her mind. Not choosing to avoid the question, as she soon clarifies, speaking. ]
People here might call it "folk." Usually it was singing, maybe some people playing instruments alongside. Festivals might have more people playing together. I didn't hear much of either. Most of it was drinking songs and marching songs you repeated in your head.
[ She came out of a more narrow section of society in her circumstances than others. She doesn't feel all that put out by it; her experiences here have taught her appreciation of music that's so beautiful it moves her to tears. Orchestral music, string quartets, all these wonderful iterations of human talent... she's astounded by what these people in a world that isn't just about surviving day to day can produce.
Art is amazing. Her hand comes up, rubbing at the side of her neck. People can do amazing things when they're not absolute shits to each other. ]
I could teach you some of the drinking songs if you wanted, but if you sang them around your father he'd probably enjoy them too much. That and be offended you were singing them in the first place.
[ Is she teasing? Yes, to an extent. But only an extent. ]

Anyway!]
Folk music...?
[Josuke's not really as surprised by that as he sounds at first. After all, it makes sense with all that he knows about where Annie comes from. And in a way...it really seems to suit her.]
Alright, now you've got to teach them to me.
[Not that he plans to sing any songs around his pops, but if he does, why not sing the sort that'll make his old man flip out a little? It's the least Joseph deserves.]

Remind me about it sometime. I'll see what I can remember for you.
[ No promises on her being able to sing at all, one way or another. ]

[Whether or not Annie can carry a tune, the activity should be one that'll prove to be entertaining, maybe even more so if Annie's voice cracks! Just as long as she doesn't crack Josuke's skull for laughing too hard.
There's not much of a line for drinks yet, so they reach the counter before long. Josuke orders a 7UP and prompts Annie again in the event she's changed her mind. Or, at least, feels up to giving him a more definitive answer.]
Want a drink? The show'll be a few minutes and with all the people packing in here it's bound to get warm.
[Not to mention that after ticket check they'll probably be expected to stay through the performance before getting to leave again. Of course, every concert's different.]
