WHO: Joseph & Ramir & Caesar
WHERE: Joseph and Caesar's place
WHEN: June 13th
WHAT: YOU WANNA GO aka general drama revolving around relationships
WARNINGS: probably not!
[ She was really expecting Joseph to show up, like, any minute after he hung up on her. And man, she was ready. Nothing gets her more geared up for a fight like an altercation with a friend. But then she'd waited, and he didn't show up. And she kept waiting. She didn't keep keep waiting though, because her temper doesn't allow for that kind of patience. Instead she'd grabbed her keys and her hovervespa and headed for his place, because there's no way they're ending it on that note.
About twenty minutes later finds her knocking (pounding, really) on the door: ] Joseph! We gotta talk!

Joseph gets up from his little sob session on the couch and wipes off his face with his sleeve, yelling back through the door.]
No we don't! Fuck off!
no subject
Yeah, we fucking do! I'm not leaving, asshole!
no subject
Go away! I don't want to deal with you!!
no subject
[ That she hasn't done that already, as far as she's concerned, is her being very polite. It's probably more than he deserves, really. She sets her hand at the door knob, ready to snap it off. ]
Okay, Caesar's jumping in now
[Cue the sounds of Joseph walking away from the door... some muffled voices, and then footsteps approaching the door again.]
mambo italiano, motherfuckers
Joseph and Ramir is another story.
He was in the hall, ready to comfort his fiancé when he heard the woman's voice. There was a tense moment when it felt time to turn around and let Jojo deal with it. But he can't, not when his own anger is starting to boil. Even if Joseph is wrong, Caesar isn't the type to let him be dogpiled. Some long strides, and he's taking the younger man by the shoulder and telling him plainly to:]
Go to the bedroom. Let me talk to her.
[Said in such a tone that there's no real arguing. Caesar's the one to open the door, chin lifted and eyelids low.]
Now's a bad time.
yesssss
Goddammit! I want to get to know you, but not fucking like this!
sorry, Ramir, he's a roadblock
[Caesar's glad he thought ahead, pack of cigarettes and shitty lighter in his back pocket rather than left on the nightstand in the bedroom. The motions are calming to go through. Slap one stick out, stick it between his lips, light up. Practiced and easy as he prepares himself for whatever's to come.
He takes a drag then exhales slow.]
You can talk to him some other time-- when he wants to.
no subject
What's he got to be upset about, anyway? Is nosing into someone else's business that stressful for him?
no subject
B[y the way, Joseph totally brought that up the other day and Caesar isn't over it. He's used to being the wingman and convincing others to carry on with their sex lives. The other end of that stick is a raw deal.]
no subject
That's concern for the quality of my friend's sex life! That's pretty legitimate, if you ask me.
oops sorry for screwing up the coding up there
And he's concerned about his grandfather. You should go.
no worries! also i dug up the thread in question and it was a delightful read (B
Yeah, so am I. That's why I wanna talk to him.
GOSH
After telling his grandfather to betray the woman that raised him?
[Caesar was a playboy, that much is true, but he plans on being sincere with Joseph. His dream for a long time has been to have a happy family and to let the Zeppeli legacy live on.
There are issues there. Ones to do with family and pride. None of them see what Ramir did as favorable.]
no subject
[ It feels weird using the first name of someone else's grandma, but she's going for the personal touch here. She folds her arms over her chest, standing firm. ]
You guys are talking about this shit like love is some kinda finite thing, like no widow can find someone else or she's — [ She stops, frown darkening to a scowl. ] Shit, you're not the one I wanna be telling this to!
no subject
[Two can play the defensive arm crossing game.]
no subject
I could! He's fucking amazing. Maybe if he's allowed to seek out some kinda happiness here, I'd find out!
no subject
[Yes, personal, and it's only going to get worse if Ramir doesn't back off. That's a just price to pay for coming to a man's home and threatening to break his door down.
Joseph was crying today! In their living room! Caesar couldn't do a thing, but here he could gain some ground and buy some time for Jojo to recover.]
no subject
Come on, she's the love of his life. I don't even have to have seen them together to know it. I'd always be second to that — if she shows up, he's all hers.
no subject
[Ramir isn't the only one who's had to think about those things. Joseph is married with children in the future. Caesar has none at all. There is always the looming thought that Joseph's real bride could show at any moment. The porter doesn't see to care who or what it spits out.
The answer is clear: he'd have to fight to stay beside Joseph. Prove that he could take care of both of them. See, as a rule, Caesar hates people who don't put their all into what they pursue. His past affairs have always been short, but they never lacked skill and heart. With an actual relationship, he's grossly devoted.]
no subject
I'm plenty fucking serious. But have you seen the way he talks about her? I couldn't go into this expecting he'd ever feel that way about me, too.
no subject
[Caesar is no one's sassy gay friend. He is more of a flamboyant bisexual acquaintance. The only reason he's offering this advice is to keep Ramir out of their apartment! No sympathy at all for her position!]
Who'd want to be second place!
no subject
I'm not into in anyone else.
[ Casual dating is fine, sleeping around is great — but she wants more than both of those from one particular person. She pauses, and because this is getting kinda intense and doing intense in English can suck, the next part is suddenly Italian. ]
It's fucked up to quantify it like that, you know? [ She's curbed a lot of her gestures when she speaks in English; in Italian, they're all back again. ] If he could even love me at all — that'd be enough. I don't care if I'm first, second, whatever.
no subject
He wasn't ready for Ramir to speak that way. He has to take allow time for himself to adjust before he responds. Needless to say, he adopts the same language.]
Why are you speaking that way-- you aren't ugly or old! [Which is what really matters.] There's no reason to be so hung up on one person! [Caesar is one to talk.] He's married already, what's the point in that! You should be going out.
[That's it. This woman needs help. ] Where do you live? What nights are you free? I can find you a better man than a Joestar.
no subject
Oh my god. [ She drags both hands down her face. ] Trust me, my dating life is doing great. I get all the ass I want. I'm not looking for serious shit, just -- he's the exception! You know?
[ Someone trying to set her up in a relationship like the one she wants she wants with Jonatan sounds like an actual horrible fate. ]
no subject
[The very clear implication is that he will turn right back around and leave Ramir to fester on her own if she so desires. All he wanted was to secure Jojo some space to sit down and relax. He and his (sad, so sad) friend can duke it out later if that's better for them. But he thinks he has a cleaner solution. Another Italian should understand, if that's what she really is.]
no subject
[ Because she still likes him, even if she came over wanting to beat the crap out of him, and she doesn't let conversations with friends end on notes like theirs did. ]
no subject
Buonanotte.
no subject
She only makes it a few steps before she's pausing though, looking back over her shoulder. This is a shitty first-ish conversation with someone important to someone she likes.
Looking a little guilty: ] Sorry about this. We should get drinks later, my treat.
no subject
[Not that Caesar doesn't have the money for it, but he doesn't want to sound excited or anything. The drinks are a good idea. While Ramir hasn't consented to being given help finding a better man than some gross Joestar, Caesar wants to do that for her. She has spirit, she speaks his language (literally, figuratively). Someone should point her in the right direction. He's done that for enough men-- even idiot soldiers that didn't know their way around a woman's heart or bed-- so it can't be that difficult.
He's looking forward to it.
Relax for now, Ramir.
Exit, stage left, back into his apartment to check on the beau.]
