[ open ] have you ever wondered
WHO: Annie Leonhart & OPEN
WHERE: NONAH, HEROPA, anywhere
WHEN: 1st - 16th of May
WHAT: Annie takes Rex out for runs; Annie carries a giant stuffed squid; anything else is in the cards.
WARNINGS: n/a
NONAH | IN NONAH, DOG WALKS YOU
[ There's an almost full grown brittany spaniel trotting up to you holding its own leash in its mouth. Annie's still sprinting up the path Rex had taken off up ahead of her; she rounds the bend even as Rex sits in front of you and wags his tail.
He's a good boy, right? Right? Give his head a pet, he's taking one of his owners out running. He's such a good boy. ]
Rex! Stay!
HEROPA, A TRAIN, THEN NONAH | I'M 10,000 FEET AWAY FROM THE SEA
[ Don't ask. Annie has no good story to tell for why this has happened, but it has.
And she is walking down the sidewalk with a giant stuffed squid in her arms. It is so large she can't keep its arms from dragging on the ground behind her, mostly because each time she's wrapped them around herself a few have come loose anyway.
This is Annie, resigned, all of five feet tall and carting along a squid that's twenty feet of stuffed, tentacled goodness. And if you end of stepping on a tentacle: ]
... Will you get off the tentacle please?
[ Whereas if she runs into you at an intersection, she might ask: ]
Will you hit the cross signal button?
[ Or if you catch her on the train, she may simply throw tentacles across the seat in front of her and sit next to the darn thing with an unimpressed look on her face. ]
WILDCARD
[ Hit me up via PM and I can start something out for us, or make up your own here and roll on out! ]

[Cu gives a dismissive wave. His tone was blunt, but it was without malice.]
If I wanted gossip I wouldn't be asking you directly.
[Ferdiad side stepped the nip for his tail and moved to square off against the brave pup before Rex bolted. Ferdiad got the hint and dashed after him. Despite being several factors larger, the direwolf quickly caught up to Rex with his long strides and playfully bumped his flank against him to disrupt his flight.
Tag.]
Do you find yourself boring? Or are you just enjoying the perks of a normal life for a change?
no subject
For her part, Annie shrugs. ]
No, I don't. I wouldn't say I call any of this normal - it's not, to me - but I don't bore myself.
[ Hence why she believes biased audiences don't need to speak up. Her eyes glance to Cu, wondering. ]
Why?
no subject
[He raises a finger for effect.]
Those that want to go home and cry about the injustice of it all.
[He raises a second finger, but then waves the gesture away into a half shrug.]
And those that come from a world they have no interest in going back to. Usually because of a poor quality of living in their previous lives or having nothing to go back to.
And since I fit into the second category myself, I'm always curious what other people had to go through to accept this world so readily.
no subject
[ She almost looks amused. ]
Accept this world, or the reality of being in it? You wouldn't be wrong to guess that I don't have a world I'm rushing back to anytime soon, but my own wishes are pointless when it comes to such things. Accepting this world so readily? I don't fight reality. I won't waste energy protesting the way this world works simply because it doesn't align to my own interests. I endure.
[ And Rex? Rex plays, and runs, and chases, because for him, that is what his reality is. A warm bed, food, water, and someone to scratch his ears now that he's given up stealing underthings. ]
no subject
[But he waves away the possible semantic consideration.]
But those are some pretty wise words for a girl of your age. But surely you aren't trying to say this world is in conflict with your wishes? And even if it was, I don't see why something so trivial would matter to your wishes at all.
no subject
[ It'd be simpler if they were as simple as Rex's, who in this moment, wished for little else than playtime with a new, giant friend. ]
no subject
Nothing worth saying.
[Cu shrugs, as if that was enough.]
I ain't trying to imply anything. I'm just wondering. It's just refreshing to see someone taking things in stride, s'all.
[Owning a pet was a commitement far beyond those that were waiting and hoping to go home at any second. It meant she was putting down roots, conciously or not. Investing in responsibility. Something either only the most veteran of imports, or those that found their new situation more favorable did.
There was no investment on Cu's part on digging up her personal details. He was just curious, one import to another.]
