catch-all for May
WHO: Tadashi Hamada + various + YOU
WHERE: De Chima locations + probably Heropa
WHEN: throughout May *vague hand wave gesture*
WHAT: A lot of stuff? A lot of stuff: open prompts for anyone after the cut + pre-prepared starters in the comments!
WARNINGS: Nothing I can think of atm
[OPEN to anyone: De Chima]
You're walking in De Chima. There's people around and your phone is charged. Out of the corner of your eye you spot him: Tadashi Hamada.
It's a relatively nice day (for once) with not as much rain. And Tadashi is out on a day off buying some new supplies for their garage-lab and a few other things. Tacky ass thrift green jacket and everything to hopefully cover how burn-scarred his arms and hands are from his fire abilities.
But always making a stop for coffee. He waits in line patiently, smiles when he sees anyone looking at him. And you know, he's proud? He's proud of how well everyone worked together during the mess that was April. Working together to find a cure, to help keep the uninfected safe and quarantined, the unbelievable team work he saw when Heropa came under fire (literally and figuratively) to evacuate everyone they could and put out fires. Why not pass that on?
When it's his turn to order, he doesn't even think twice. Orders his regular and then pays for the orders of the next four people behind him, whether it's an espresso shot or a mass bulk order for the entire office. People deserve something good happening after all that.
He stops by the grocery to pick up some things for dinner next week and - man these people are having a hard time carrying everything. He'll stop and help them carry some bags, even help load their car on his way in. That one person needing help reaching something on a high shelf, he'll reach up and get. Help this person put a heavier item into their shopping cart. If the person at the register in front of him is short a few dollars, who would he be if he didn't offer to cover it?
All in all, a pretty good day! Out and about helping people and imPorts who need a hand with something.
[OPEN to anyone: Heropa]
Eventually Tadashi will make his way to Heropa to assess damage. All things considered, it's still... No, it's terrible. Buildings and homes alike in smolders and ashes. People still recovering from the plague on top of the fires. He's not sure what there is he can do to help here. But. Well, there are still people needing to be healed from burns and other injuries. He'll do what he can with that, native and imPort alike.
He'll stop anyone that looks like they're having trouble with an inury and offer to heal, or help them look for that one missing keepsake in the wreckage.

Hiro - early May
The problem, however, is how exactly to go about this. But he has a plan for that! Before the outbreak had started, he had taken a photo Krei gave him, a picture of San Fransokyo - their home, their life, and probably the only way he'll ever be able to see it again if their plan fails - and made a nicer, cleaner digital copy of it. A little work, a little time? A framed picture of home. He had one on his desk in his room now, and it only seemed right to give one to Hiro too. Tadashi can only imagine he misses it as much as he does. Something to serve as a gift, an apology, and a conversation starter.
Once the cure for the plague had begun making rounds and things settled, Tadashi positions himself outside Hiro's door, frame in hand and quietly knocks.]
Hey - just me.
no subject
He owes it to his brother to feel better.
When Tadashi knocks at this door, he looks up from what he was working on. His room is filled with the usual array of junk organized into patterns; he parts it so that Tadashi has a clear path over to Hiro's bed. ]
Hey. What's up?

Robert Callaghan - May 7
He texts Callaghan the address of a less travelled coffee shop and takes up a seat in a back booth, out of the way and trying not to be in anyone's way. It's been a long, exhausting couple of weeks since his professor - his future killer - showed up and he needs a few minutes before the guy comes to gather his thoughts and get his own coffee first.]
no subject
however, he's aware enough to know that some of these problems are results of his own actions, and as such running away would do all of nothing in the long run. he needs to deal with them, for better or worse.
at least there's coffee.
Callaghan's not early, by any means, but he is prompt and ensures he's not going to have to worry about traffic or the like; this is an appointment for which he's placed too much importance to let slip. eventually, though, he spots Tadashi and tilts his head in acknowledgement- he does, however, make sure to buy his own coffee before moving to join him.]

Honey Lemon - early May
He's mentally eating those words he said about the swear in not being eventful. The entire rest of the month made up for that. Ugh. He needs to talk to his friend and they need to actually talk about the big burning elephant in the room that they sort of glossed over when Honey Lemon first arrived. He shoots her a quick message that he's walking over - only three doors down, no big deal - and knocks. Because if someone in De Chima is going to have manners, by god it's gonna be him.

Early May, Heropa
Kang is standing outside of a home that is barely more than a burned out shell, talking to a woman as two teenagers pick through the ash and debris that was their lives with obvious shock still on their faces. The woman doesn't want her house to be torn down, insisting that it can be repaired, but Kang keeps his voice calm, finally getting through to her that it needs to be done. The structural damage is too great.
From the carefully neutral look on his face, this isn't the first time someone has collapsed onto him while sobbing over the past few days.]
no subject
How long do you think it'll take to repair all this?

mid-may, de chima
Occasionally, he's in the basement of the house, which isn't occupied by anyone or anything else, so he's just dragged a mattress down there to sleep on. He doesn't need too much.
Right now, though, he's just out and about in De Chima, and - wow, Tadashi is impossible to miss, you good samaritan. He might as well pick up groceries himself, so he's just going to walk in there. ]
You really can't help yourself, can you? [ He sounds more amused than anything. ] Try not to strain yourself.
no subject
It's still weird the chances he gets to see the AI's human form. So when he speaks so close to Tadashi and it's not through a comm's tiny speaker, he nearly jumps out of his skin.]

Iori was waiting for his iced green tea when Tadashi had made his offer. He's still waiting now, not at all judgmental. It's curious, but in an offhand way. He looks away from Tadashi and back to the counter, hair stirring lightly in a breeze that's probably caused by the air conditioner in here. Probably.
Though there's no really explaining the orange face mask. At least he's not in uniform, just business casual, sweater over black slacks and black socks with black shoes.

De Chima
His eyes slim. He remembers what Ed told him about Tadashi how they made robots. Clearly he's evil.
But, Glitch needs help so, he's willing to forgo his prejudices for some help.]
Yo, Tadash. Can you reach this for me? Height has deemed it impossible for me.
no subject
But when he hears... something sort of resembling his name, he glances over. Deeefinitely remembers this kid from the swear in and smiles.]
Yep - On it. Which one, the yellow bag?
[Oh man they did put that one on the highest shelf, and they're the best chips too. He nods to Glitch and steps up, leans a little to nudge the bottom of the bag closer and lets the weight pull itself down off the shelf. Once it's in tow, he hands it over to Glitch.]

Alistair Krei - mid May
He's at his desk working on a line of circuitry, carefully placing the pieces before soldering anything together before Krei gets there.]
Here's hoping my science is sound
This is what is needed to start the construction of the portal.
[It’s a long list, with lots of notes for alternatives scribbled beside each one. He’s trying to provide the Hamada’s with as many options as possible.]
One of these is a degradation resistant martensitic metal that currently isn’t in production here, and wasn’t widely used back home, either. It's absolutely essential, so we're going to need to make it ourselves. Fortunately we don’t need too much of it.
I’ve written some estimates for prices as well. Even got a few quotes for the commonly used metals. A lot of them are surprisingly affordable.
[After a pause, he adds.]
Oh, and good morning.

The place in question... leaves him wondering. Well. Too late now. He already agreed and he's already here. If it does go south, he can blow it and run. He stands outside awkwardly for a minute before knocking.]
no subject
Hey. Tadashi, right? This way. Close the door behind you.
[And then he turns his attention to the dog.] Cap. Downstairs.
[Cap shoots one last, pleading look in Tadashi's direction before padding down the stairs, Dean on his heels, assuming that Tadashi will follow.] Alright. So.

DE CHIMA
Big mistake. He's fitter than he's ever been in his life, but the supplies he's carrying are heavy, and he's still got a long way to go... and a horrible bus ride in which he will doubtlessly take up more than one seat, which he hates. He's passing by the grocery store, laden with bags and a few planks of wood (bad idea, bad idea, but they needed this special kind, and the only store selling it in Heropa had been destroyed), when he sees Tadashi passing by, only just finishing up helping an old woman with her groceries.]
Tadashi, hey!
[He'll take the excuse to chit chat so he can put the damn bags down for a second. His callouses are going to have callouses by the end of all this.]
no subject
He really, honestly did.
Somehow he ended up spending an hour helping other people around the store and walking out empty handed. This is the second trip this week that's happened. He sees a big bulky pile of something walking somewhere but doesn't stop until he hears his name and tries to look around the pile - and then the pile is set down and he grins]

Heropa, Early May
She swept up broken glass, keeping an eye out for anyone who might need some help. She didn't know how well her healing would work, as over-extended as it had been trying to combat the Flare, plus having her blood taken for serum, but she wouldn't just leave someone in need of assistance.
no subject
It really only takes a second to recognize her, but... man, she looks bad. Maybe he should... He smiles, tired and worried for her but glad too. "Hey - You're out."

Heropa! Early May
Regardless, it's not difficult to find the sniper out and cleaning up debris. Almost all patrol officers have been sent to participate in the cleanup and she is no different.
What is a bit different, however, is the small multicolored dog following her apps as she cleans. Said dog sniffs through debris, tail wagging furiously, and occasionally treks into buildings and pulls out various personal effects. At the moment though, Boba is dragging a large stuffed doll out of a building, which he deposits on the ground in front of the first passerby.
"Boba, please don't leave everything you find in the midle of the street--" the doll is quickly scooped up and Riza glances at the stranger. "I'm sorry. He thinks everything he finds must belong to the nearest person."
no subject
"Aw. It's fine, don't have to apologize. Looks like he's trying to help..."
(no subject)
Heropa, Early May
He wasn't running away from what had happened...he just had better things to do. And it was easier to catch naps here and there while helping the reconstruction of Heropa.
At the moment he was trying to lift debris to clear out one of the buildings. Didn't know whether he was going to find any victims in the wreckage, or perhaps something important he could turn in to the nearest authority. Either way, trying to lift a beam off a pile of broken concrete wasn't the best thing to be doing with a couple of his fingers taped together; enhanced strength or no.
Heiji gets the beam supported against his shoulder and takes a moment to rest, flexing his hands.
no subject
That is totally a guy using super strength right in front of him..
Okay, cool? Very cool. But he also looks pretty tired and maybe Tadashi should go make sure he doesn't need... help? A spotter? Something.

[the acoustics in this room are good; maybe he just has to holler enough to find the guy as opposed to wandering around like a lost puppy.
kind of rude to any present and nearby lab staff, though; he winces and mouths an apology to someone side-eyeing him from across the room.
maybe walking is better. he'll just pick a direction and start peeping in windows. and by 'walking' I mean almost-run -- hustle, at the very least. this is not a walking matter!]

It's probably inevitable that he gets hurt eventually. Nothing too terribly serious, a cut
of indeterminate but probably tetanus-ridden originon one palm that he at least remembers to put pressure on. And then proceed to mildly panic while not really doing anything particularly effective about it because BLEEDING IS REALLY, REALLY WEIRD.]no subject
And it is definitely hard to miss someone in bright blue and yellow - especially moving as much as they are. He steps closer to offer help, then sees he's a lot stronger than he looks. It's only when Megaman gets hurt and starts bleeding that Tadashi fully steps forward and offers a hand.]
Hey - you should ... probably have that looked at. Mind if I..?
(no subject)
Maurtia Falls, probably today or something // *punches through coffin lid and claws at dirt*
So when Ruka hears the knock at her door, she figures it has to be for Kanaya. After all, the apartment maintenance people only ever slip notes passive-aggressive under the door, and everything else goes through the mail; all their bills are up-to-date, and Ruka hasn't ordered anything lately. Probably something she bought online? It doesn't really matter; if there's a package, she should bring it in rather than leave it unattended in the hallway. It's a series of small transformations on the way to the door: the shaft of her paintbrush gets shoved into her messy bun with the wet brush pointing up, her rolled sleeves are tugged down from her elbows to her wrists, her eyepatch pulled down from its position as a makeshift headband, bangs falling once more into her face. She's still adjusting the heart to cover her bad eye when she opens the door, just in case the parcel guy is still there, but she freezes when she sees the actual person standing there.
... Well.
This was certainly not the parcel guy. ]
Uh.
