[CLOSED]
WHO: Chrollo and Josuke
WHERE: De Chima oh my god im so sorry Mitch Hundred
WHEN: March 27th evening i guess!!!
WHAT: Chrollo is kind of stealing things. Josuke is kind of talking a walk. And then they meet, but not while the stealing is happening. Yeah.
WARNINGS: None really.
[Honestly... Chrollo likes the cameras. It makes things more amusing - and more challenging, although that's not necessarily saying very much. For a place full of supers, this world is certainly blind to stupid petty crimes. Although, in fairness... it may be the presence of greater threats that makes it so.
Even so, there's something thrilling about acting in the presence of "threats." And frankly, it's not as though Chrollo is doing anything especially terrible - he's simply... having an interesting time. In a book store. After hours. Stocking up on, well, shark books. Lots of shark books. Which he has no intention of paying for.]
Nothing but that. And eventually, he does pick out the five or six or, all right - eight - books he wants and he has the presence of mind to put them in an appropriate bag before stepping through the wall, cloaked in blue green flames. The same flames he'd been using to obscure his appearance from any potential cameras inside the store.
Now that he's outside... he ducks into an unfilmable cornerm fire vanishing into nothingness. There's one more trick, of course, to escaping unscathed. And that's stepping out of this corner unseen.
Simple. His book flips open in his hand, and for five full seconds, time ceases to function. By the end, he's well down the street, walking calmly in the direction of the Porter.]

sorry for the tl;dr
However, he's on his way back to the Porter (a far cry from empty handed) when something catches his eye, stops him cold in his tracks. A flicker and flash of light up ahead—
—of blue-green flames.
The glare seems to last just a second (or five, although he doesn't know that and isn't counting, besides) before it's suddenly gone again, but Josuke can't ignore the temptation to investigate. He approaches the outside of what looks to be a nice bookstore with a gaping alleyway between it and a greeting card center, Crazy Diamond walking beside him and ready. But peering around those corners? Reveals absolutely nothing. No sign of that crazed masked clown, but that light was definitely...the same. Had flashed like fire.
In fact, if it was the same, that would explain one of the more recent news reports about a burned body having been found. Or would it? Josuke doesn't remember that article in detail but he'd been pretty sure that at the time there was something unusual about the death besides the burning itself. Something that didn't fit Lunatic's MO. Was somebody else running around with a similar power, then? Or maybe that Yuri guy'd been manipulated?
...He finds himself asking way too many questions and turning up no answers, so for now turns away from that dark area before he finds himself in any kind of confrontation.
It's only after calling back his Stand and hurrying a block or two from the area that he catches sight of Chrollo. Feels a little relief at the sighting of a familiar face and throws up a hand in greeting as he draws closer.
He doesn't notice the name of store on Chrollo's bag, is more preoccupied with hoping the man doesn't mind his company since it looks like they're headed in the same direction. And there's safety in numbers. Especially when it comes to dangerous people who can wield fire.
...the irony, huh?]
Hey, Chrollo! [He falls into line next to the older man.] Long time no see! How ya been?
[See anything suspicious in the area a few minutes ago? is what he'd like to ask, but given how far away Chrollo'd been from the site, he doesn't think he'd have seen anything at all.]
NO TROUBLES
Convenient.
And yeah, actually, it has been sort of a long time, right? It hits him at that moment how much he's neglected the personal connections of this "side" of him. Maybe he should fix that?
Eh. Can he be bothered, though? Unclear.
Well, he may as well play along for now, though. So, okay, smiling.]
Ah, Josuke! I've been all right, really, just doing a little shopping.
[Kind of. ALL HE HAS IS BOOKS.]

[He holds up his bags as though in triumph! Before glancing back once over his shoulder...but there's nothing to be seen, so he returns his attention (now undivided) back to Chrollo and grins.]
Great minds shop alike, huh? [A chuckle before he pipes up:] Actually, I've been meaning to get in touch with you again! It's about that cologne you got me. It's really great but...I owe you back for that still, right?
[He takes free rides when he can get 'em, but when he's just asking for favors? He makes good on paying people back for the things he asks for. Or at least...he tries to! Sometimes things go a little longer than he'd like because he doesn't see the person often. Like with Chrollo.]
no subject
[What's this about paying for things, who even does that? Especially when they don't have to.]
no subject
[Josuke hadn't thought it was. He'd even promised to pay Chrollo back! ...on his next payday. Which admittedly passed, but it's not like the guy's hurting for the money and at least Josuke did remember, and on his own!]
Ah...didn't I say I'd pay you back, though? I can now!
no subject
[He was thinking about other things at the time. Like Josuke's powers, which frankly he enjoys enough to consider them payment if he ever thought about payment. Which he didn't, even at the time. So.]
Please don't worry about it, though. Coming to that spar cost you something far more precious than a fancy cologne.
[The photo of his mother, obviously but... uh whatever.]

[Said brightly enough before Josuke's cheer sobers faintly and he stares ahead of them as they walk. Looks like they are indeed headed in the same direction, or at least...Chrollo hasn't thought to veer off on his own yet. So Josuke keeps talking, glad for the company.]
It's weird about that, you know? Everything from inside was gone including my mom's picture, but the wallet itself was found later! And that wallet's worth money, more than a photograph.
[He shakes his head.]
Tried getting help tracking it down, too...but it's like it just doesn't exist anymore. No trace.
[...not unlike that fire. There one moment, gone the next.]
Oh! I don't regret having seen you and Jolyne go head-to-head, though! I mean, what happened after sucks, but watching you two was pretty cool. I had no idea you could really fight!

And really, his curiosity about the Joestar clan hasn't quite dissipated, even if he has gotten distracted of late.
Of course, that means talking about that photo. So.]
Strange... I suppose in a world like this, things can cease to exist. Or perhaps be placed behind powers that block attempts at tracking. That doesn't really explain what use someone had for a photo.
...I really am sorry about that.
[Did you hear that? It was the sound of 10000% bullshit.]
Anyway, fighting is kind of... I don't do it very often but I guess I haven't forgotten how.
no subject
[The sound of 10000% believing that bullshit.]
I'm not much of a fighter myself, to be honest. I mean, I can throw a mean punch! [Really mean if he's serious, too.] But I don't really like fighting unless I gotta do it. Which...was increasingly more necessary back home for a bit, until it wasn't. Things slowed down a lot. Not all the way, but I could relax a little more...then I wound up here and it's like hot water all over again.
I guess what I'm saying is...it's probably a good thing you haven't forgotten and that you're keeping yourself on your toes. I'm trying to do the same from now on, too.
