Once Annie and Minato had made it to a populated island (which just took swimming, even if swimming in Titan form was an adventure onto itself), finding a phone she could borrow to call back to the United States proved to be a creative process. The cost of international calls had ultimately led to Annie deciding morals were something she could afford a fraction of the time, starting and ending her brief career as a pickpocket with American tourists. One pay-per-minute calling card later, she's using a phone she also had to buy in order to call one of the few numbers she had memorized.

Calling Houka was an exercise in asking for favors and information to be passed along to the people who immediately needed to know what was going on. Handling more of this would have to wait until they were all back stateside. Her calls over and accounted for, knowing that she's left what she can in capable hands, Annie had handed the phone off to Minato so he could repeat the process with his friends.

They still had to track down the man responsible. It seemed unlikely to her he'd leave the area even after his technology had been destroyed - he wanted the hunt too badly, thought he had a right to what he was doing. This was just another part of the challenge.

Which meant keeping aware while figuring out a way to get to the airport for when Will and Jonathan would be arriving.

... and figuring out a way to attract their attention at the airport.

I'M LEAVIIIIIING ON A JET PLANE

[Jonathan has been stony-faced throughout almost the entire process of securing their flight - unfailingly polite, yes, but there's a stern sense of purpose behind his actions that belie the burning in his blood. this would be enraging enough if it had happened to anyone, but not only did he consider Annie a friend, she was his parolee. he was responsible for being unable to prevent their current situation, and that knowledge sat heavily on him.

the dark clouds in his mind begin to clear a little, almost despite himself, as the plane begins to taxi onto the runway. although he's read a healthy number of books on manned flight since arriving here, this is his first time personally on an airplane. even though the circumstances couldn't be much worse, it's an exhilarating realization that someone as positive as Jonathan can't contain.

he's fortunate enough to have been assigned a window seat (although how he got into or will be getting out of said seat considering his bulk is another matter entirely) and so it's inevitable that his gaze falls more and more completely on the activity outside as it begins to take off. by the time the plane's finally broken free into the sky his face is practically pressed up against the glass in complete wonderment at their current situation.

the seatbelt light dings off soon after and the sound brings Jonathan back to reality, as it were. he pulls away from the window and gives his companion a very apologetic look. that was not only immature, it was very selfish of him. good job, Joestar.]

...my apologies.
