WARNINGS: Eventual awkward discussions about how sex works. So uh. Yeah. There's that lmao.

[A few days have passed since her last chat with Kaidan, and... Flame Princess is feeling much more clear-headed than she was before. Not that she wasn't herself when she contacted him, but she was still trying to sort out which memories were real and which ones weren't. At any rate, she definitely knows that Doctor Doomsday nonsense was all fake and so are any of the memories she has associated with it - and going back to being certain that she has friends is a plus, too.

It'll be good to hang out and talk to Kaidan now that she's normal and not yelling at everyone. Or threatening to burn down cities.

... Those were a weird few days.

[ Not that...burning things down was... probably not a danger, even now? Kaidan had no idea how FP even worked, let alone how he was supposed to keep the apartment flame free, especially considering that they'd already caught the apartment on fire through almost not fault of their own. He'd tried to do what he could, found some metal chair, just in case. Should he turn down the air conditioning? Was she going to make it hotter around the small apartment?

No clue, but he did have one of those streaming accounts and an x-box he'd bought a while ago, although it was sorely under-used. He just wasn't much of a guy who knew how to...have fun.

He opened the door, after scooting toward the door, a grin when he opened it. ]

FP? Hey, you made it.

[Oh, burning things down is still very much a danger. But Flame Princess has made sure to take extra measures to try and ensure that burning things down only happens when she needs to burn things down. Although, the extra precautions Kaidan has taken certainly won't make things worse.

Either way, she's dressed in foil - well, sort of. Her regular flaming dress is still underneath - to try and minimize the risk of accidentally setting people, places, and things on fire. Though instead of having her hands wrapped in foil like she normally does, she's just wearing gloves. Heat-resistant ones - the place she bought them from advertized EXTREME RESISTANCE to HORRIBLE BURNING TEMPERATURES while providing SNUGGLY COMFORT. The maximum temperature they said it could withstand is actually... lower than some of the temperatures she's capable of reaching. But as long as she keeps her cool (haw haw), she should be fine. They seem to be working well enough so far, at least.]

Hey, Kaidan! [She smiles and shrugs a little.] Yeah, well, I didn't want to be late. It's been a while since we did anything together, anyway.

Fair enough, yeah. You look...good. More comfortable.

[ She looked to be settling in, or at least as much as she could, right? Gloves were new, although he had to say, they looked uncomfortable. Couldn't someone just make her something to work with her heat? Who knew, but at least he didn't fear the apartment would spontaneously combust. Especially now that the offending lights were well and thrown away. ]

Come on in, you can pick something, I'm, uh, not exactly the expert when it comes to movies.

[ Heck, with the gloves, she could probably even select the movie herself. ]

[She definitely could. Having actual gloves rather than just awkward foil mittens certainly makes things a lot easier - even if she does have to be a bit more wary of how hot she burns.]

I'm not really an expert, either? [She steps inside and shrugs a little.] I mean, you just click on whatever you want to watch, it's pretty easy. But is there any sort of stuff you like watching? Because there's kind of a lot of junk to choose from.

Uh, well, I mostly watch documentaries?

[ Kaidan's boring. ]

I don't really do, uh, movies all that much? Any of them that you know about that's worth it? Or anything...they're talking about?

If not, we could always browse until we find something.

There's some stuff I've watched with my boyfriend before - [The Muppets. It was the Muppets.] - but if you normally like documentaries and whatever, I don't really know if you'd be interested.

[SHRUG.]

We can just look around for something cool to watch.

[ Of course it was the muppets. ]

You uh, you have a boyfriend, FP? How did that happen?

[ A laugh, while he starts scrolling. Maybe some brainless action flick would do them both some good. ]

You didn't tell me that! Who is it?

Do you know Ira Gamagori? He's blonde, muscular, and tall, he can be a little loud sometimes but he's really nice, and he's really handsome... [Whoa there.] Um. Anyway, that's him.

I kind of made an embarrassing post on the network asking about liking people and junk, and then asked him out later.

You're dating Gamagori? Isn't he a little... [ loud ] old for you? Ah --

[ A pause. FP, this is so complicated. ] I mean, I'm happy for you. Just...confused? I didn't know you could... do that kind of stuff. Isn't kissing complicated? Uh, hot? [ Another pause. No, he's not going to say it. ]

Is he? [She's never actually given it much thought.] He's only four years older than me.

[But uh, okay. This got awkward fast.] It's... kind of complicated? I mean, we can kiss, just... you know. Not for too long. That way he won't get burned up too badly. And hugging and holding hands and stuff is okay as long as I'm wearing enough foil.

[ Wasn't that a lot of time for teenagers? Kaidan couldn't remember much about age differences in his teenage years, but then again... he hadn't exactly gone to high school. ]

Oh. Huh.

[ Ugh. This was so awkward. He'd never exactly given it much thought, and the words kind of spilled out before he could help it. Of course they did. ]

I guess I hadn't -- Well I'm happy for you, FP. You guys are... [ Kaidan should have known better, considering how things went with Jaime, and yet... ] Not dealing with any fire hazards, or anything right?

No? [She doesn't really know what he's getting at here.] I mean... [THIS IS NOT A CONVERSATION SHE WAS EXPECTING TO HAVE.] We had to find a healer after we kissed a second time, but like I said, it won't be too bad if we don't do it for too long in the future.

Ouch. [ It said a lot, he supposed, that Gamagori was still with her, didn't it? Going to a healer after just kissing? Ouch.

That also raised questions he didn't want the answer to. He frowned, and gave her a look. ]

I hope it doesn't happen again -- hey, how about this one?

[ An action flick -- hero gets the girl kind of stuff. That was going to be pretty safe, right? ]

Uh. [Does Kaidan mean that he hopes they don't kiss again? Or that he hopes Gamagori doesn't get burned again? Or well, burned as badly. Probably that one. Whatever. Talking about all this is weird, anyway.] Yeah. Sure! That looks good.

[And so they watch the movie. It's okay, she guesses. The plot doesn't make a lot of sense. Lots of explosions, which is cool. The hero is kind of boring and his girlfriend doesn't talk a lot and always needs to be rescued, it seems like. The hero's sidekick friend has a habit of telling people to blow him whenever he's annoyed, which she... doesn't really understand. And he says it again before Flame Princess frowns a little and leans back in her seat.]

I don't get it. Why does he keep saying that?

Uhhhhh --

[ How does Kaidan even explain that? He looked over at her, a little concerned, and squirmed in his seat. ]

Well -- Uh -- It's -- he's being crass? It's, do you not know?

[ Oh god. Someone kill him now. ]

[Stare.]

I have no idea what you're talking about, Kaidan.

Uh --

[ There's a pause. God. How did he even. ]

Like... sex things?

Like what?

[kanadian]

[ He wanted to run his hands down his face, and hold his head. ]

Uh, like... you know, sex things? Haven't they put you through that in school yet?

[Um.] I... think I might have been sick that day.

[FP, can you even get sick? She just slept in way past her alarm, not that she. Really remembers. It was a while ago.]

Oh.

[ Why did it fall on him to do this? Did it? Actually? He didn't know but...she'd asked, hadn't she? What was he supposed to do? ]

Well it's... it's what people do, when they're in love? They... it's like kissing to the next level.

[Whoa, whoa, what?]

There's stuff after kissing?

[ His mouth hung open. A half-surprised look on his face.

He couldn't help the frankness that escaped. ]

Really? [THAT IS... news to her. Part of her thinks they should probably just leave it at that? But she's- curious. What would even come after kissing?] Like what?

Like, uh --

[The pause takes a while. He's trying to figure out the most clinical way to describe it, and he's kind of falling short. He frowned. ]

There's uh, sex and...what he was talking about which is -- its -- FP how old are you, exactly? [ That seemed safer... ]

I'll be turning sixteen soon. [Fifteen. She's fifteen.]

Yeah, so fifteen. [ How did he even... start..... ]

Nobody told you about this? It's pretty -- [ Oh god, he was just going to have to dive into this and not look back. Someone help him. ]

So, when adults [ pointedly. Adults. ] care about each other, they sometimes try to share how they feel with one another. It's...pretty basic biology.

So... like kissing. [Which she's already done. She's not really seeing what makes this a Big Deal yet.]

No -- It's -- [ He has never in his life had to give a talk to a teenager. He'd never thought it was going to happen. His eyes flicked to the screen, and then back at FP, while he tried to think of a way to delicately explain it, without going overboard. ]

More than that. To break it down to the bare basics, [ he started, sounding a hell of a lot more clinical than he felt, ] it starts with putting certain body parts into each other.

[ Was that delicate enough? Dear god, FP, please don't make him explain what tab a and slot b are. ]

[FWOOSH. And those heat-resistant gloves are pretty much burned to ashes now. They were not ready for the temperatures an embarrassed teenager could reach.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!! [ Kaidan had to scoot back from the couch, slid away from her, and away from the heat. ]

Don't set my apartment on fire, please!

[Cools down a little, and goes back to looking more like a person.]

Sorry! I just... how does it even... why? [WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT IT SOUNDS TERRIBLE.]

[ He looked around, warily. Was anything on fire? No, nothing was on fire, but he thought that he was going to have to be more careful. How did he even --

Why would someone do it? Oh. Boy. ]

That's a good question. [ Kaidan was patting himself on the back for that one. ] Mostly because we're dumb.

Well, yeah . [No argument here.]

But how is it supposed to... you know. Wouldn't it just hurt? [Thinking about how much larger Gamagori is compared to herself, and... nope. Nope nope nope.]

Uh -- [ He didn't really want to...get into that. ]

It's, uh, not supposed to? [ God help him now. ] You should stay away from that stuff for at least a few years anyway. Not that you shouldn't...do some research, but... [ For the love of god. Please don't ask him. ]

Oh. But... [CONFUSED GROAN.] None of this stuff makes any sense!

[At... least she's not asking for details????]

I don't think it's supposed to yet!

[ He didn't want to go into his (lack of) a sex life, or how he learned about it back at Brain Camp. ]

Just... if you're interested, talk to your nurse at school? They can probably do it better than I can.

Right. That's... probably a good idea. [She'll just. Do some research on her own and ask the nurse at school like he suggested yeah that's a better idea.

Clears throat.]

So... do you want to finish the movie? [Instead of talking about this more please say yes, Kaidan.]

[ He hit the play button, probably a bit too rapidly. Kaidan was no more comfortable with this than FP was, apparently. It was easier to just hit play and not think about that painfully awkward conversation.

He'd prefer if it never came up again. ]

[Flame Princess doesn't say anything else. She'll just... watch in silence for the remainder of the movie.

Today has ended up being far more awkward and uncomfortable than she anticipated, and like Kaidan, she'd rather not discuss it any more.

Don't worry, man. FP has no intention of ever speaking of this with you again. Ever.]
