the rules of the house
WHO: Open to everyone in Residence #021
WHERE: ...Residence #021, living room
WHEN: March 6th, late afternoon
WHAT: A discussion on house rules, which may or may not turn into terrible and/or hilarious bickering.
WARNINGS: Potential clashing of egos and arguments, maybe?
[Today, Light has gathered all of his housemates who were available into the living area; while there are plenty of places to sit, he stands, arms crossed, not quite in the middle of the group. While not exactly grim, he appears serious enough about whatever he's going to say, once everyone is settled.]
I think it's time we all settled on the subject of the rules of this household. As some of you may be aware, Mr. Edgeworth was... gracious enough to construct a list of them, which he intends to apply to everyone living here. While this isn't unreasonable unto itself, it's only fair that we consider these rules "official" only after everyone has taken the time to discuss them -- and potentially, revise them as necessary.
[He lets that settle for a second, and then:]
If you need a copy of the text file, I have it on my communicator. Other than that... Thoughts? Opinions?
(ooc; feel free to threadhop/jump in to your heart's content? As much as Light would like for this to be a polite, professional forum.... honestly it probably will end up just being the opposite.))

You want to discuss and make it official?

If you have issues with any of the rules [AND IT'S OK, HE KNOWS YOU DO...] this is the perfect chance to bring them up. Make a good enough argument, and you might change them altogether.
no subject
Careful, you're starting to sound like Miles.
[she takes out her phone and starts to view the text file]
Let's start with number 1. We should move the time to midnight. We're not all old geezers.
no subject
Though there is perhaps a slight quirk to his eyebrows at old geezers.]

[He gives Edgeworth a decidedly pointed glance.] Your thoughts on the matter, Mr. Edgeworth? [Said in a tone which is also very quietly prodding -- they're your rules, man, speak.]
no subject
My thoughts are already committed to text, Mr. Yagami. Eleven pm to three am is time I have blocked off every evening to do work; I need quiet for that. But if you all consider noisy activities more valuable than work that seeks to improve the legal system of this city, then so be it; I must abide by that.
[Sip.]

I happen to like listening to music at night.
no subject
I'll buy you headphones.
no subject
Gee thanks.

she’s silent, with an is this seriously happening to me look on her face.]

...Concerning the curfew issue, can there be a possible compromise? Maybe changing it to 11:30 instead?

How would music bother you anyway? My room isn't even next to yours.
Come to think of it, why don't you use the headphones?

This is a waste of time.
[Then she's standing up to head into the kitchen to grab a drink before she hits someone, going past June and giving her a look of 'can you believe this?']
no subject
[Before he can argue the matter, she's gone. This only makes his frown deepen, and he directs it at Edgeworth.]
You agreed to this meeting, didn't you? You could be a little more amiable for the sake of making progress. [Mr. Obviously Being Difficult About This]

[With Violet out of the room, Edgeworth doesn't even feign politeness. He's all irritation.]
Yes, I'll be certain to hasten that along.

there’s no way these people could just, you know, be gotten rid of without it being noticed, right? this is a disaster--
--oh, leaving’s an option?

Dr. Convington. Where are you going?
no subject
she smiles.]
Back to my room. You both have this well under control.
