Legerdemain [OPEN]
WHO: Hisoka and OPEN
WHERE: Government Holding Facility
WHEN: December 1st - December 31st
WHAT: Visitors and fellow inmates chatting it up.
WARNINGS: None yet.
It's been an incredibly long time in this holding cell, in this- prison. Only three months and Hisoka can't handle being still for more than a few moments and his sleeping periods have shrunk smaller and smaller to naps of about two hours when they do happen. Even so- he's made to sleep, or well- lay there, in the dark, and those moments are the worst. He gets by by reading network conversations. Sometimes under blankets when hall patrols are happening, and he's only gotten caught once to which he lied himself out of and just said he checked the time upon waking up.
But for the most part- he's going a little mad. Especially now with Shade gone.
His cell neighbor, speaking to him was really what was getting him through the days, not that he'd admit it to himself. Hisoka was all for waiting but- being able to do things he wanted in the mean time helped. Years upon years he'd wait but only because he could best busy himself with other people and activities. Here it's just-
Jewelry, eating, "sleeping", wandering, re ha bilitation. And it's doing him in. Maybe that's why he- was starting to like Shade despite seeing none of his abilities or strengths. They spoke often in there, and the more they did, the more Hisoka was around someone generally just- enjoying speaking to him back and forth? It made it easier to stay cam and wait.
And then Shade left.
And now- if he doesn't busy himself he might accidentally snap a guards neck without- thinking about it. The bloodlust is there. He feels it in those long nights, waiting in the dark, his hands idle, knuckles white from how tight he keeps clenching them. He knows- he'd feel better if he could just- touch someone. Feel their blood beat under his fingers, their hot flesh against his, if he could just see a reaction in their face from his hands and a moment of taking everything from them. It- it wouldn't be nearly as good as a fight, or sex- but it'd make him feel less meaningless rotting away in here.
But he can't do that.
So instead.
Should a visitor come at any time throughout the month, or another inmate wander by- they will find Hisoka sitting amidst cards. Beginning of the month it won't be so impressive, but near a week into the month, and further on the castle of cards just- continues to grow and grow around him in his room. He supposes- he feels better doing it. Not that he's thinking while stacking. Infact, he's not thinking at all the entire time. Because thinking involves missing people, and needing things. Thinking involves wondering where Chrollo has been and why he hasn't visited despite saying he would do so. The same goes for Gon and his where abouts. Wondering about Jaime and what he's been up to and finding the thought mildly arousing only to once again work himself up and have no means of letting off the steam. And let's not even get started on that- Lunatic fellow he's been hearing so much about. So- no thoughts, no thinking, just cards.
So much of rehabilitation.

A trick, then. Or rather, a narrative to support his demonstration. Giorno's fingers trail over the glass just on the other side of those cards, and his gaze flickers away for a moment - to the labyrinth of card structures, even now undisturbed.
"Hm." Well, math isn't his favorite thing, but it's not as though he minds it. What's more interesting is the combination of skills that evidences - a sharp mind capable of focus, grace, sleight of hand, physical prowess. He looks back up at Hisoka's face - and incidentally, why is everyone he speaks to here so tall?
"What else do you like? Cards, obviously, but aside from that... what did you do with your time before you somehow landed yourself in prison?" And honestly, about that... "How did that happen, anyway?"
no subject
"Hm." A calm expression, his smirk still slightly visible on his lips as his eyes watch the two cards now flutter down to join their mess of a deck. How did he get here. Was it fruitful to lie? Most likely Giorno will find out either way, or he knows already. Honesty sometimes does better- and he is aiming to get closer to this person...
His lips curl, letting out a breath through his nose and lifting a hand.
"I like sweets." He starts, mentioning it even seems to make his stomach growl for them, though not very loud. Hisoka stifles a chuckle, setting his hand to his hip again. "Being bad- isn't that how anyone gets here?" Though- honesty- he can't be completely honest here.
"I'm still getting used to what is allowed here." AKA- what he can get away with. "And it seems taking lives doesn't fall under that category. I can just be rather energetic." Closing his eyes, dipping his chin down a little. Energetic- right- he still feels "energetic" even now. Honestly it's difficult to look at Giorno without staring in a way that might harm their budding friendship.
"I took lives of those I didn't know, and am paying for it- as I should, hm?"
no subject
Or maybe he's just projecting. But the "energy," at least, that's interesting. At the moment, he doesn't look energetic, but that's easily attributable to circumstances. How energetic can a person be when trapped in a cell for months at a time?
"Legalistic, but sufficient. You like sweets do you?" Giorno tips his head. "Maybe I'll send you a cookie plate. Do they even allow that kind of thing here?"
no subject
"I do-" A. Blink. For some reason the next comment throws him off a little and he- stares for a moment, even peaking up over a top edge of a card wall to get a look at Giorno's expression when he says it.
Is he trying to buy him somehow? What is it this man wants? The idea that it's a gesture made to purely be nice goes over his head but at the same time he- he wants it.
"I'd- yes, they do..." A little tentative, turning his head slightly, suspicious.
no subject
Not that he doesn't have a reason. But it's not as suspicious as all that.
He looks past Hisoka again, glancing over the world of cards inside that cell.
"I'll send something, then." He pauses, glances down. "I've visited prisoners twice, before now. Or rather... I visited one visitor two times. He had a much different arrangement than this - every luxury, every convenience. Actually, I'm sure he only stayed inside because he wanted to. It was more comfortable for him there than on the outside. What an odd sort of prison." He looks up again, watching Hisoka. "That's not really relevant, actually, but it came to mind."
Actually, the prison itself was fairly similar. But the atmosphere, that's another story altogether.
Giorno takes a little breath. "Have you considered what you'll do when you leave this place?"
no subject
Cot reached and he sits with a slight 'fwump' though enough to not knock anything over with a puff of air. He sits, moving along the white sheets to press a shoulder to the painted brick wall, facing the glass Giorno's speaking through.
"This place does look a bit- sterile though, doesn't it?" A weak smile that seems to stretch at his face more than it should. Hisoka turns his head, looking through faded pink hair, taking in the towers of cards with a thoughtful look. "I suppose that's why I wanted to do some decorating."
"Ah- have I- of course." Smirks, tilting his head to bump against the wall, looking up and over at him. "I'm to be a good boy."
Be what they want. Be properly rehabilitated. Be a -debt collector, whatever, make money and fit into society so he doesn't have to deal with this again. Get his kicks where he can for now, while he can contain himself, while others "help" him to let off steam. Be someone not himself and try not to think about it as being defeated.
no subject
"Be a good boy." Giorno repeats the words, and shakes his head a little. Admittedly, it sounds a bit like defeat to him, but given the state of Hisoka at the moment, it's difficult to blame him. Even so. "That sounds boring." To be blunt.
"Even so, there are probably ways to thread the line. I don't blame you for not wanting to come back here. This box doesn't suit you." Honestly, if this place is going to keep bringing in battlers, they ought to find some way to accommodate their needs. But he doesn't say that. Instead, he reflects over the demonstrations up to now - that grace, that precision. The implications regarding his personality - patience, skill with his hands, the remnants of a most athletic form hidden within the wreckage this place has made of that man. Even now, he's more impressive than most. When released...
Giorno tips his head slightly back. "I have a proposal for you."
no subject
A laugh, coughs out of him almost in reply to that reply to his goals upon leaving here. Yes- definitely boring. But he hadn't meant it- to be completely true. Be good as far as most will see, as they want to see. He'll play the game Chrollo has been since arriving here- though he doesn't know he's returned home yet. He'll do what he must to avoid this place, but when he can- he'll do what he needs to keep himself active.
"Flattery will get you everywhere." A smile, tilting his chin up a little. A cookie plate- gosh, compliments? Is he being bought? It's working, even if he's aware of it. It's nice to hear when most of the time he's been only told the opposite, or treated the opposite by those he doesn't directly aim for anything more with. He'd like to be a bit more spoiled, and this place- it's only making him 'want' more. Rehabilitation, more like cold turkey, and that doesn't usually doesn't work. In fact, it usually causes a worse bounce back.
"Oh?" A head tilt, brows up.
no subject
Which means he means it, every word. And this is, at least to him, definitely not without a point, or purpose. Giorno watches him again, in silence, for a beat. "Right now, I'm in the process of establishing a venture. A... casino? That seems a little grand, actually, and a bit too out in the open for my tastes, but who knows where it will go eventually.
"...my business at home dealt with that kind of thing." Mafia, man. Mafia. He gives a short nod. "Anyway, that kind of place needs at least two things: people skilled in games and people capable of handling any violent or dangerous situations that might arise from bitter losers." To be blunt. He shrugs. "No one likes losing, after all. Especially me."
"I wonder if you'd be interested in that kind of thing."
no subject
Safe to say everything's been recorded, he's been acting as though it has. Acting and speaking in a way to if anything, hint to his interests and inclinations, but not confirm them. After all, it'd be more suspicious if he suddenly had a considerable change of face and was the nicest ever. But either way- recording videos, voice, the whole nine yards in here, hey, they even took his powers. A few simple recording devices wouldn't be hard at all. He can tell that's what Giorno's looking for as well, with where he looks. The other man knows the best place TO look, showing he has some experience with it.
His brows raise, expression a little more mild than before, watching and listening. A- casino? Well he certainly sees the appeal at least, and it sounds better than 'debt collector' already...
"Heh-" Smirks, shrugging up his hands.
"I certainly fall into those categories." Hands down, glancing up. "It would end up functioning as my main occupation then? How far are you in establishing a venue?"
no subject
So he taps his chin a little, and hmms slightly under his breath.
"To be honest, I'd rather discuss details once you leave here." Because he hates opening his hands in front of the government. Actually, he kind of hates governments. "But you'll be here... how long? Another month or so? I should be prepared by then."
A slight pause. "What's your official position now, anyway?"
It's probably boring.
no subject
Will be for many reasons now.
"Official position?"
no subject

He stretches his hands a little.
"Well. The clock is ticking. You won't remain here for much longer.
no subject
His gaze hasn't left him for quite some time now, he's not sure if it's due to a need to read this man, further study him, or the enjoyment he feels at being asked to be a part of this business venture. Or- potentially anyway.
"No, not at all, infact, within the beginning of the next month. You'll wait for me won't you?"
no subject
"Well, anyway.... yes, I can wait. I'm rather patient, as it happens.
"When I need to be."
no subject
He certainly can be patient.
Another low laugh, shrugging as he lifts his hands.
"All good things to those who wait. Though I do wonder who else you've asked?"
no subject
Because Giorno cheats.

"Joseph Joestar." He'll leave out the "relation" for the moment. Not in the least because he doesn't really think of them as related to begin with. "Actually, come to that, I'm not sure how possible it is to avoid him. He's noticeable."
no subject

no subject
Well, Joseph can be a bit much, but really.
no subject
"I've spoken to him frequently actually." A bored look directed near Giorno's legs- feet. He tosses a hand in a small shrug.
"At times he's amusing, and others not. I've yet to see anything that should impress me enough though." A small smile, getting Joseph's image in his mind. Up his legs, waist, stomach- chest. Even the way those eyes can look, seems like a clever boy but- he's unsure if it goes much further than that.
"Though I'm fairly sure what I like in him may just be his genetics." From what he's seen of that grandfather of his, unf. "But I'm willing to bother with him more if you'd like." Smile.
