WHO: OPEN.
WHERE: De Chima.
WHEN: Saturday, December 13th, 2014.
WHAT: Earlier in the afternoon, there will be base-jumping in elf costumes. Later on is the charity silent date auction and different performances by USA celebrities fundraising for charity this holiday season. OOC information post here.
WARNINGS: None now, will update later. To avoid seeing all the silent auction threads, simply press on the (Hide ## comments) under the header comment for the auction section!
[ BASE JUMPING from TARTARUS TOWER ]
For those imPorts who volunteered to jump from Tartarus Tower, arrivals for fittings into their costumes begins at 2:00 PM sharp. Each costume comes with a name-tag attached, and make-up artists are on hand to help affix elf ears to participants and work on their eye make-up for the ease of the cameras catching all this live.
The jumps will start at 4:00 PM, and after all imPort elves have jumped and successfully reached the ground, they'll join the bus transporting presents and Malik to the De Chima children's hospital to deliver gifts to the children in the cancer ward (and elsewhere). ImPorts will then be transported over to the main facilities for the fundraiser event as a whole, invited to attend the Silent Date Auction as well as listen to any of the various performances occurring over the course of the evening.
[ CHARITY SILENT DATE AUCTION in DE CHIMA ]
Starting at 4:00 PM, the doors to the conference hall made available for the ImPort Charity Silent Date Auction will open. Live music will be provided, along with refreshments and catered hor d'oeuvres, and televisons displaying both the news stories and live coverage of the fundraiser events occurring over the course of the evening. ImPorts will be encouraged to attend any of these performances in person, but will not be required to leave the conference hall unless they wish to do so.
There is lounge seating available, and free wireless throughout the building. Different conference halls are hosting different events in this event center, and the largest productions are happening on a built stage outside. There's a massive lit tree in the central front courtyard of the event center, and many small stands selling hot drinks, good foods, and wares outside by the stage and surrounding streets, all with a portion of proceeds going to various named charities.
Please comment to this log with your own starters! Only the Auction Thread will be set-up under its own sub-thread, for ease of tracking. Auction Threads can be threaded in, but initial comments to those threads should be the bids that a character is placing on someone else (or themselves). Bidding will close OOCly by this time next week (or when a player states bidding is closed on their character - send me a PM to close that thread, or comment to close it on your own). ICly, all bids close at the end of the night.

$350.
[It's real money, not shirts, but she knows what that amount means. It's for charity, she won't have to make this one up to him by pulling shifts at the shop.
Unless she really wants to ~make it up~ because lionesses get what they want, man.]

Why would she be upset?
[Like, he knows Annie to a point where he could figure out she might be a little displeased with that exact amount, but...he's curious where this kid is coming from. Did she go telling people the significance of $350 from Will Graham?]
no subject
Simply because it's a lot to spend. She's very careful with her own money, although I'm betting the only reason she's here is because one, she was asked to be, and two, because the money would be for charity. I'm just giving you the forewarning, if you win, that within the first ten minutes, she'll bring up how you shouldn't have spent that much money to go on a date with her.

go on a date with her
There are gloves in his pocket he should slap this kid across the face with for that particular bit of phrasing. If he wanted Will's full and undivided attention, he got just that. Slightly ticked off and solely focused on Inumuta, great combination.]
I appreciate the forewarning, despite it being [And now he's grumbling.] wholly unnecessary. [Grumbling in the way that doesn't bode well, because it's followed by a break in any eye contact and a more grumbled:] I'm sure you've got what you feel is a great reason for sticking your nose in, but. [Ugh that smile is about as joyous as the grumbling.] There won't be any date when it comes to Annie and I, end of discussion.
[Fishing with friends isn't a date.
It's just fishing.]

You do realize a date can also be wholly unromantic if both so desire it to be. After all, doesn't the origin of the word trace back to it simply meaning "to hang out"? I was assuming that is the kind of occasion it would be anyway, and I had used the word date simply because this IS a date auction.
Calm down, Will. It's unnecessary to see me as a threat.
no subject
But as Inumuta refuses to slow his own roll, he's reminded of a dog with its ass half-sticking out of a hole, continually making it bigger and happily doing so because, what, what's the worst consequence that could come out of this? A bap on the nose? A garden hose getting turned on him?
No, no. That's too little and nowhere near the same levels of petty that he's getting right now. Rather than take any of the bait offered, verbally, bark back about the real origin of the word date or what is and is not threatening, Will quirks one eyebrow and looks back over at the names for bid before he lets out a quiet, ominous:]
Aren't you out here for bid, too? [Sinister.] Swore I saw your name.
[You gon be a shit he gon be a shit back. Woof woof, motherfucker, doggy dates were never this understandable by the human population.]
no subject
Ah, yes. You did. I did.
[Sorry Will, but he's a little more unflappable than that.]
She intends on taking me on a date for my birthday, so I intended to take her on one so that we were equal. But I'm not sure I have the funds to compete with three hundred and fifty dollars to spend simply on gaining the date.
Are you really that upset about this? I'm a little concerned, Will. You look slightly pale, too.

Sad tales of being too poor to compete with $350, this is right up Will's alley, actually. He can empathize with that from profound personal experience. Not necessarily when it comes to dating (he just wanted some socks, holy shit, he did not have room to care much about roses and chocolates and other trivial garbage that didn't do anything in the long run), but in general? Yeah, he gets it. He hopes that his stupid wallet dumping isn't seen as a threat, was never intended as one. He's all set to address that when the slightly pale comment comes in and that slightly changes to completely pale.
He's not upset with this situation enough to pale. He's upset that his paleness was noticed and he doesn't want to explain why that is. So.]
Uh huh.
[Pardon him, he's going for the kill.]
no subject
But.
A thing has happened and he's so proud of the thing that happened. This is not actually a good smile this is bad. Still, he tries for something personable, shoving his hands in his pockets and turning off the grumble as he gets just in the personal bubble. He's so jovial-sounding right now!
Santa is close to Satan, after all.]
Now you're both equal in one way. ["You're both worth $350," the most reassuring thing to tell teenagers...he's told them worse. Oh God. That smile is out of control levels of dog that done did the thing and will continue to do the thing without hesitation. Look, Ma, I brought you a dead bird, ain't it great?] Is she taking you out on your birthday or can I claim that date?
