There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke
WHO: Bruce Wayne and Ted Kord
WHERE: Residence 21, Heropa.
WHEN: After Ted's post
WHAT: Bruce drops in to make a business proposal, but it's probably really creepy bat stalking stuff actually
WARNINGS: Booster Gold's calendars.
[ At some point Bruce and Alfred might even move out of their government assigned residencies in Heropa, but for now their facade of cooperation depended on it. It worked. While it was in public, there was coming and going at all hours of the day, and Bruce could slip away easily enough.
Six doors down, Bruce - dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and slacks to blur into the neighborhood traffic - moved lightly up to the door and knocked, drawing back onto the bottom step and pressing his hands into his pockets.
This could be a mistake--a terrible mistake. It might be: judging from Alfred's comments, the brief remarks from Hal Jordan, the observations he'd made himself on the network. But while that was true, Ted had known who he was, and that needed addressing. Far more importantly, these two men had been members of the League; that was a whole lot more than Bruce could say for himself. With the number of them now, the organization needed addressing.
So that was one thing he was here to do. Showing a little faith in his fellow heroes was one thing, and investing in Ted's business model might be something else. Hopefully he could commit himself to one or both, but as he'd said on the network: he preferred to make his own judgements regarding other people. ]

wow i am a complete failure and never got a notif about this :CCC
....Wow. It was weird to see any version of Bats without the suit. Really weird. But understandable, their conversation had been mostly private, after all, and it wouldn't do to have Batman showing up at his front door. Well, there was nothing for it but to hope his natural charm (hah) would do him well. Or, failing that, that Bruce would be suitably impressed by his car prototype.]
Hey! Come on in.

Thank you.
[ And that's just it - he steps inside, loosening his collar to drop the hood away from its snug fit around his neck. He looks Ted up and down for a moment, then offers his hand. ]
Bruce Wayne--we haven't technically met before, so let's do this the right way.

Yeah, I guess we haven't, so nice to meet -- um -- this version of you. Ted Kord, as you already know.

[ Looking him right in the eye. ]
So can I see this car?

[That is less intimidating when you're not in the Batsuit, Bruce, but even so. It's still Bruce Wayne.]
Sure, come on! You know where the garage is, I guess.
