We meet again [Closed]
WHO: Wing and Drift
WHERE: Drift's house.
WHEN: Shortly after Wing's arrival in Heropa
WHAT: Reunions and bath time for gross birdguys
WARNINGS: Probably nudity, knowing the robots.
He'd heard Wing was close, and it just made waiting all the more intolerable. Drift is now cleaning the table for the third time that day, rearranging things and making sure everything is set up just so.
It hadn't really sunk in, Wing being alive. He suspected seeing him in the- er, flesh would make a difference. Like it would drive things home somehow.
So far it's only anxiety though. What if he doesn't like how he's changed? What if he's disappointed? Drift cleans the table again more furiously.

So Wing was wearing a bright smile when Drift finally opened the door. If Drift concentrated, he could probably physically feel the positive energy radiating from him. Odd.
"Drift."

"Wing! It really is you! I can tell, your aura is just so- so you!" Wing is probably being strangled at this point. So much for stoicism.
"I can't believe this. Your voice, your energies, it's wonderful!" He pauses.
"You... you smell interesting."

Wing manages to get out. A huge accomplishment, seeing as Drift had his arms wrapped tightly around his neck. He didn't complain or pull away, it was worth it. He had never imagined he'd be seeing so much happiness in his old friend. Things have changed. A lot.
"Mm, yes I may have been lost at sea for a day or so before I came back to shore. I haven't had much opportunities to keep clean, my deepest apologies.
It's good to see you, friend."
no subject
"It's okay. We'll get you cleaned up." He doesn't even know where to start.
"I knew I'd never see you again, and here you are." He finally releases his death grip in favor of looking Wing over. "Amazing."

He laughs lightly and rustles his wings together.
"What are you going to do? Give me a bath?"
no subject
"Maybe. You probably need one. You could do it yourself if not for these. May I touch?" He asks, already doing just that. Gently smoothing his hand over the soft, light feathers.
"Soft..."
no subject
"Ah, pardon me!"
He attempted to rotate himself around, only to step on his own wing and topple over.
"Oh for the love of-!"
no subject
He can't help but laugh.
"Okay, okay come on, lets get you in a bath and get these hazards washed up. Don't fold as neatly as your other ones, do they?"
no subject
Wing does his best to seem dignified as he allows Drift to haul him off the floor. For all the good it does; he still smells bad and looks scruffy.
"I really only have problems with them in enclosed spaces. Forgive me if I hurt you, that is the last thing I wanted to do."
He's not too worried that Drift might be hurt, but he still felt bad about it anyway. Enough that he allowed Drift to steer him towards the bathroom without much complaint.

"Take off the clothes." He says easily. Human nudity does next to nothing for him, so it's very casual. He busies himself with gathering up a scrub brush and some shampoo.
no subject
"I've seen many wonderful things during my travels. Perhaps someday we can see them together. How have you been, Drift? Well, I hope?"
no subject
"I- well. Well as I can be. The war ended, you know. Finally. There's a lot you should know, but I'd rather have you rested and clean first."
He's already resigned to getting soaked, so he simply dunks a bristle brush into soap and water, and gets to work on one of those expansive wings, gently brushing the dirt out.
